I've definitely heard this was coming and I'd only be afraid it could take itself a bit too seriously now it's a main title in that it was a DLC length gag before but now they've got to stretch disbelief over a whole game...
You mean the dlc that copied into a standalone dlc.of the same thing separate from the game that confused alot of people thinking it was an expansion to it?
@@quarreneverett4767 Yes I guess that one. I got the standalone recently as a PS+ bonus and knew what it was though :) It's just the DLC but without needing the main game, and a pretty blatant attempt to build anticipation for Wonderlands.
@@frank8917 Yes Assault on Dragon Keep filled me with joy when I played it. I'm not a big gun fan or FPS fan but I do like the Borderlands and Fallout series'. Seeing it turn into a funny fantasy RPG was awesome!
While I don't really like the character Tiny Tina, I find her barely tolerable. I do love this idea of fantasy FPS, even though it's still more sci-fi looking here. Also the mixing of CRPG overworld and FPS is brilliant. I hope more FPS games steal that idea.
I never got to play the original DLC of Tiny Tina's B&B campaign, but it always seemed the most intriguing seeing a fantasy setting be met with arsenals of rifles and bullets against dragons and skelies.
You can buy it separately from Borderlands 2 now, it goes on sale for like $5 regularly and is only $10 off sale. Wonderlands is a direct sequel to it, so I highly recommend playing it before Wonderlands. Not to mention, Dragon Keep is quintessential playing for any gamer worth their salt. It's the Shivering Isles of looter shooters.
Tiny TIna's Wonderlands wasn't widely released on Windows, it's an Epic Exclusive for 6months-1yr. This is just a warning for all interested. It was originally on Steam, but now it's just a store page with coming soon. So, I'm not touching it for a year. I refuse to deal with the Epic launcher.
I’ve been playing the end game content for a few weeks now and I have to say besides the wasted $20 I spent on the season pass when it was on sale I absolutely love this game. The campaign was extremely fun and I’ve been going back to finish all the side missions I missed or ignored. I throughly enjoy having the Clawbringer and Spore Warden buddies walking around dishing out damage.
I'm just happy that Tiny Tina is back to being tiny. It's like watching a pint-sized Tank Girl. She's actually the only reason I wanted to play Borderlands. I just find demented characters really enjoyable.
BL2 was such a incredible game. The writing was icing on the cake and it knew when to be serious. Tina refusing to accept Roland's death in DLC was great. BL3 was a disaster. Especially when we take BL2 and Tales from Borderlands into consideration. Imo BL4 should just retcon BL3. Certain deaths and "character assassinations" aren't recoverable IMO.
eh, the only thing they can do is to atleast improve on problems people had, more specifically the girl everyone hated (idk her name sorry) and make her more mature and perhaps suggest that lilith isnt dead, imo just my opinion.
@@Zeus-zv7dr If they want to continue timeline after BL3's mess, I am more than ok with Lilith dying. Gearbox should get their shit together, get rid of Randy Pitchford, stop screwing over VAs and try to aqcuire BL2 and Tales from Borderlands writers. Tone, overwhelming cringe and lack of self-awereness flooding almost every single line of dialogue/plot in BL3 is clear indication that their current team/management are incapable of delivering anything tolerable.

Choosing your class makes a huge difference. They don’t all do the same thing, some are OP and others are way too underpowered. The class you choose definitely matters
Thanks for going into details about the class system, I remember playing Borderlands 2 and being unhappy with the character I picked, but I didn't want to restart with a new character so I kept going and didn't really have that much fun. But seriously and more importantly, what color socks are you wearing Gman?
I started out playing two different vault hunters because I wasn't sure which to go with but after playing them both to level 14 or so, I was able to pick for sure which to go with for the rest of the game and I'm pretty happy with my choice! You should try replaying it again. Look up the videos about each vault hunter if you need to to pick the one that you will have the most fun with.
Man, these games are all so replayable. The fanbase has been replaying them with the same 4 characters each game for over a decade at this point. Restarting as a new character really is nothing, if you're not having fun with your current one, just switch. You'll be back where you are now in no time.
I’ve always liked claptrap, mainly just pre borderlands 3. The voice actor for him was a real Chad, dude took 0 payment for his work in the original because of budget reasons. Then still took no payment for 2, and the pre sequel.
Borderlands just doesn’t DO anything for me- whatsoever!! Gearbox is ass & I guess I loathe Randall Pitchford so much that I’m unable to enjoy his games knowing what he’s done in the past to get them out…. Maybe I can’t get over the debacle of the “7-7.5 game” Colonial Marines- I don’t know, but I’ve *NEVER* enjoyed Borderlands…. No matter how petty the reason, it’s not as petty as Pitchford ….I STILL don’t like Randy nor Gearbox.
Gearbox has still just failed to recapture the magic that was Borderlands 2. The only thing BL2 was missing was the ability to skip dialogue and cutscenes.
@@dracobellator1164 - The main story of BL3 was so bad to me that I'm still unwilling to buy the game just to play the DLCs. I'm really happy that they are releasing this game though and I've pre-ordered it! Can't wait to play it soon!

I'm glad they didn't. There are already so many melee games out there. It's nice to have the Borderlands gameplay in a different setting that this game is in.
@@FlickTheBrick Out of curiosity, why do you turn it off? I love the double tap strafe. I would be so useful in any FPS, or even any third person games.
@@TheDarkblue57 Well, that's an animation complaint. Yes, the animation of the dodge is definitely exaggerated in UT99. Might directly translate to something like Fortnite, but yea... it would look stupid in Day Z. But dodging is a complete natural movement in real life, so it would be easy to make a realistic animation for those shooters. Granted, I get that it wouldn't be as effective, but even a dodge mechanic, would be useful.
Ultimately I the class system feels like it brings micro variation, not macro; the fundamental gameplay loop is always the same, but every class specializes in a different aspect of said loop. *Especially* when you combine them. For example I've got a "Hexecutioner" (Spellshot + Clawbringer) who's been built for elements & status effect damage; able to hit enemies with up to 3 types of damage simultaneously if played right, and watching the waterfall of numbers go.
A Death Throw. Like A Death Saving Throw, cause in D&D you don't just die out right but there is such thing as actual Instant Death. Something that well exceeds a persons over all health pool. Secondary classing, hell yeah.

The Butt Stallion Buff you can find in the chaos chamber only says +3 Skill "sneak attack" and if you didnt remember the name over every node in the skill tree i originally had no idea what this did.
Easy parry system, as you're about to be melee'd, melee them back, boom, stuns the enemy for a short time. You could hear a sound like how in doom does for the Marauder (The glow eyes and the high pitched noise)
One would expect Gearbox to adjust the sense of humor of the series. But the best point was the first game. Every game after went overboard with the loud and obnoxious. I wouldn't mind Tina if she was the only character like this, but even Scooter is incredibly annoying in the sequel, and he was very compelling in the first game.
I hope they delve more into the whole Character Customization, More Gear and Equip able Melees in the future for their Borderlands Series cause these are by far the most creative Gear Box has been sense BL2. Plus they just make the game more better and adds hella more variations
I dunno, this game just doesn't feel like it needed to be made. The Bunkers & Badasses DLC was a lot of fun, but we just didn't need a whole game built around it IMO.
I wonder which character gonna die unceremoniously in this game? Gotta love Gearbox's 2010 meme culture writing mindset. At least, the gameplay is still addicting AF, I see.
Gman just spoiled it, so we already know. My GF also noticed that every time we see Tina playing B&B is after someone died, and apparently she has a point

@@kailomonkey you mean Assault on Dragon Keep?
@@frank8917 Yes Assault on Dragon Keep filled me with joy when I played it. I'm not a big gun fan or FPS fan but I do like the Borderlands and Fallout series'. Seeing it turn into a funny fantasy RPG was awesome!
@@kailomonkey also, that game thought us that the only way to solve our problems is by punching them
While I don't really like the character Tiny Tina, I find her barely tolerable.
It's awesome I would recommend going back and playing it. Plus we get a little bit of character development out of Tina
Tiny TIna's Wonderlands wasn't widely released on Windows, it's an Epic Exclusive for 6months-1yr.
This is just a warning for all interested. It was originally on Steam, but now it's just a store page with coming soon.
So, I'm not touching it for a year. I refuse to deal with the Epic launcher.
ah, it is console exclusive for a year, that is a shame.
Same here I just wish I knew how long it will be till this timed exclusivity deal ends
@@drivanradosivic1357 I love your reply!
I refuse to acknowledge Epic as a PC game store.
I got back into Borderlands 3 in anticipation for Wonderland and just beat the last Dlc, so I’m definitely ready for this game.
I'm just happy that Tiny Tina is back to being tiny. It's like watching a pint-sized Tank Girl. She's actually the only reason I wanted to play Borderlands. I just find demented characters really enjoyable.
I like her but only in small doses not interested in spending a whole game with her
BL2 was such a incredible game.
She was backstabbing, cruel pos with tons of plot armor without redeeming charm of other vault hunters.
Mava should be just killed and forgotten.
BL4 should be heavily use characters from TFB.
"People talk like they're trying to get upvotes on reddit" got me good
I just want to congratulate you and your wife on your child... and thanks for the video

Yeah I said the same about Paarthurnax and Mario...
Congrats on Gman Jnr bro, been following for a while and in a gamer dad here myself! All worth it for those co-op memories man!
I don't really understand why they keep trying to cash in on Tina. I feel like most people share the sentiment of not finding Tina funny, and a lot of people find her completely annoying. It's purely the character, or lack thereof.
People only started to dislike Tina in 3, Tina in 2 was almost always shown love in the community
@@b2k_scott106 Okay, though that is irrelevant to how people feel about her character as it is currently.
@@22locor but this is before 3 and not long after 2, which gives her the same characteristics she had in 2? so it’s very relevant
@@b2k_scott106 Mmm, her personality is 100% like it is in 3: annoying with no substance. Again, being somewhat likable in 2 is irrelevant to how she is in this game.

After expriencing borderlands 3 first hand...I think I'll wait for sale on this one even though I know it would be fun. Also fuck epic exclusivity
22:16 That's not just any old fire pillar either, it's the Shadowfire Pillar Orendi uses in Battleborn. Yes, I know. I was one of the 20 or so people who kept playing that game beyond 2016. Shoot me.
I recognized it too. I bought the game off one of those key sites for 8 bucks or so to play the campaign. I miss it
Honestly, I'm ok with the reduced high-tier loot drops. One of the biggest issues I have with BL3 is the oversaturation of legendaries.

Gonna be honest, was really looking forward to this game! Especially after the turd that was Borderlands 3 main campaign.

well that's because tiny tina explain that her story will have guns and explosions.
A death save is something you throw in d&d when your downed to get back up
Personally... I think every FPS since UT 99 should have had a strafe double tap. Should have been a staple like double jumps in platformers.
While I generally turn it off, it’s a great option to have. Too bad it never got mainstream.
@@FlickTheBrick Out of curiosity, why do you turn it off? I love the double tap strafe. I would be so useful in any FPS, or even any third person games.
Not for realistic shooters or simulators though or really just any game that doesn't want to look completely goofy.
I was worried about this if it was going to be just a cash grab I quite enjoyed the dlc and was released not long ago as a stand alone for free
A Death Throw. Like A Death Saving Throw, cause in D&D you don't just die out right but there is such thing as actual Instant Death. Something that well exceeds a persons over all health pool. Secondary classing, hell yeah.

Crazy to think I use to watch “Hey Ash, Whatca’ playing?” when I was 13 to now playing her game.
It's a shame I find Borderlands to be the most annoying type of humor because gameplay always looks pretty good
One would expect Gearbox to adjust the sense of humor of the series.
