Exactly my thoughts when I saw this abomination: this is beyond comical. I started laughing from the middle of it, that's how absurd it was to watch. This time it even shone through the acting, not just the writing and directing as the previous episodes. First torture, but once you do not want to relate it in any way to Tolkien's world, it becomes a comedy. One of the script writers exposing themselves.
Last time I dared mention in my review on ImdB on a series that it literally hates men because all men in the series are portrayed as incompetent, selfish and malicious, it didn't pass the censors :D My first review in a few dozen that somehow was not allowed to see the light of day (series name: "For all Mankind".)
My review of the Rings of Power did not pass the test either, as I dared criticize how Amazon is purposefully spitting on Tolkien's legacy. I did not even talk about the role of females. At all. It seemed to have been enough that I criticized the fact that they writers have zero clue about the world of Tolkien.
Makes you wonder who screen ImdB reviews before allowing them to appear. As if the manipulation of viewer ratings is not enough. I'm pretty sure that much of the billion dollar budget for this abomination was spent on gaslighting via all the media possible. And still they fail.
If they actually still make the absurd mistake of producing a third and further seasons, they will definitely go B-movie budget, because they know by now that it is all money thrown out the window. People may be gullible, many may be stupid, but nobody likes to eat sh*t. Even gaslighting has its limits.

It is what it is and indictment on the times. Current social conditioning has been knocked down a few pegs further. Next seasons shows might be in chinese at this rate.
