thanks for the video. i just wanted to post my experience. i have a 2002 e39, which had a slightly different (newer) tab on the bottom. the key is to use a small/thin flathead to pop the tab down and KEEP it down while you slide the pedal to the left. i kept getting it caught on the 2nd set of notches in the pedal, so i started over and kept the pressure on the tab until the pedal was all the way off. hope this helps someone else.
You said "is no easy to reinstall ( BMW parts), so be patient. " .. people who doesn't have a bmw cannot imagine how true are you words... I'm taking therapy(no yet, but almost )since I started working on my e46. Was a bad idea started without experience in any car to repair my e46..Actually I didn't know about the gas pedal, finally I realized where the issue is in my car.. god bless you for sharing this amazing knowledge... have a wonderful day..
I can't agree more with that statement lmao, I own an 03 e46 and everythinggggg in it is in German and just completely different from all these common Japanese cars lol
I was just looking at removing this pedal today, I checked out the ( I thought the T8 Screws) my issue is a surge on the starting off ( Bucking) everything else has been checked , Cleaned, add WD40 Spray, nothing has as yet sorted this out, so this is my next avenue, thank you for a well presented / Explained view on this pedals removal.
Thank you for watching our channel and for the wonderful feedback. We're glad it was helpful to you. Please feel free to share our channel with anyone that could benefit from it.
@mezaarmando I have the same issue EML light is to the right of the engine check light, I have 3 codes for throttle position sensor. when I wiggle the wire around on the sensor on the pedal and restart the engine it removes the car from limp mode for a while... I am replacing the pedal and sensor soon.
Hi guys. Quick question for you; When i hold my throttle down a bit (for example range between 800-2000 rpm) on my e46 325i and leave it that way the RPM's go up and down a bit. i hooked up my laptop today with BMWscanner 1.4 today ..live data and saw that my gas-pedal was constant at a XX degree and i was revving it to 1500 rpm ..and when i keep holding it like that the rpms go up and down from 1500 to 1300 and back up ..down ...you get it? TPS?
You say these are all the same from 1999 but then you say they're electronic not cable. Most were cable up until around 2001. My 2000 E39 has a cable throttle.
So I just removed the throttle from a 2001 530i and it actually doesn't have the little gap for the screwdriver to fit into. The opening in the side of the throttle just have a black clip that you press down and then pull the pedal out
Hi my car has been throwing up EML traction control and service engine soon lights as soon as I turn it on I checked the code and it shows accelerator sensor if I get a new one would my lights turn off I can't go past 45 miles because of "limp mode"
Another huge THANKYOU! Really helpful to see how that pedal clicks in and out. Big time saver after I spent a solid hour plus popping out a M5 pedal which is completely different for absolutely no reason!
wow wow eml miens throttle body if car gos to limp mode" 45 klm no more and if just eml with no limp mode thin its gas pedal whos the man ha and u can fix ur throttle body easy just ask me
moe nikak , hi i have this problem with my e46 318i, starts up but goes nowhere.i suspect its the pedal..should i just buy another one or what do you suggest?

You're a life saver bro, I used the same procedure to take out the accelerator from my mini cooper r53. Thanks a million.
Took me some time to figure out and watched loads of videos but yours was most helpful. Thank you
I wish I knew how to remove the piece that the pedal slides into... It was already off when you showed it

Thanks for the info on removing the pedal, the smaller flat head did the trick ...
Wish you had a head mounted camera, because you do a good job explaining, only lacking the cameras to do the best job possible. Thanks much
Thank you for the feedback will keep that in mind for our next video.

Did replacing the pedal assuming the sensor too fixed the problem for you? I have the same error it's killing me i swear. Thanks in advice sir.
@@PaulPaul99.777what fixed it for you?
Good video, have you opened the pedal to see how it looks inside?

Did you solve this problem? I have the same problem
Great video man. I have 2004 120i (e87) I have code p110d (throttle position sensor) if I change the pedal, will this maybe fix my problem?
when you remove it what would you do with it? what do you repair/replace in the pedal assembly ???
The electrical position sensor, for example
Thanks for this, I’m changing my carpet to black on my E46 and wondered how do I remove this.
Brilliant, thanks a bunch, now I know what to do in the morning...
You say these are all the same from 1999 but then you say they're electronic not cable. Most were cable up until around 2001. My 2000 E39 has a cable throttle.
I have a 1999 528i, shows code P1624 do I need the whole pedal or is there a sensor I can replace? Thanks
I can't find the little gap that you mentioned any tips?
Keep looking, has to be there.
hi . can u give me the code for the cable that goes from pedal gas to Electronic Control Unit ? ( Ecu )
RanDom Video what is it in need it for my 2007 750 Li
Was told from bmw shop that it needs to be programmed on a computer after installation is this true
Is this the same for an e39 manual pedal cause I can't feel any slot for a screwdriver to it into the access port
same process as long as bmw model is from 1999-03
So I just removed the throttle from a 2001 530i and it actually doesn't have the little gap for the screwdriver to fit into. The opening in the side of the throttle just have a black clip that you press down and then pull the pedal out

You throttle body seems to be going bad. Check that part since those are symptoms associated with that engine component.
will the pedal from a 02 530i fit on a 03 325i?
Merci beaucoup ! This video helped me so much, after a long fight with the f**king 5 branches Torx screws!
Thank you!! Good Job!!

You have to push up? You have to push up. YOU HAVE TO PUSH UP. Push up . Clip? Push up. Push up push the clip up this is the clip push up
It's push down. Pulling one end of a lever causes the other end to push down. But we get his intention
Thanks
