Duncan is other-level acting. He is strictly in it for the craft. MAD respect for him because he was this way BEFORE The Jamie Foxx Show and remains the same serious actor today.
Stan and Shawn were great characters and I do miss their presence in the later years. It was a huge oversight not having Garrett Morris and Jonathan Gries on the 30th anniversary reunion last year. Garrett Morris is a legend and needs his flowers now!
I also found it weird that Stan and Shawn didn’t get a mention, when Martin started out at the station, and was there for 2 seasons. How do you skip that? We always saw Stan and Shawn during that time. Aren’t they even in the opening credits for those seasons? How do you not mention your additional characters?

Him, Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe and a host of other brothers (who should have been perennial top-leading men) have been intentionally marginalized by Hollywood; replaced by shuck-n-jive clowns or relegated to one of Tyler Perry’s ‘Chitlins, Cheetos and Kool-Aid’ shows.
I hated when Martin took away the radio station off the show, Garret & the white guy was funny! Garret is one of the comedians who opened the doors for comedians like Martin! So, although it was not cool to cancel his role, he was on good enough terms to make a cameo appearance... later on

Christopher Duncan was talking about how a lot of actors(not just him) aren't taken serious for other roles, in movies/TV shows after playing a specific niche character (such as only casts in a comedic role or only the villain, or only the auntie/uncle/grandparent role. Some producers only see you in just one vein of acting, which we all know isn't right nor fair to these actors. I'm glad he is working, and we want to see him and other actors(that have been typecasted in the past) in a lot more roles and even bigger budget productions. These actors deserve a lot more recognition 💯
Clifton Powell talked about how he auditioned for MANY roles, yet they kept casting him as the villain because he was dark skin and played the villain so well. He says he was even beat out for a role and it went to a light skin actor. I swear I think he’s talking about Dead Presidents and Terrance Howard’s role as Cowboy.

I had to pause the video when the movie Extremities was mentioned because anybody who grew up in the 80's like I did knows how much of a classic film that was. Extremities is a film that I still watch now and it still has the same impact on me and my family as viewers. I had no idea it was a play. If Christopher played the role of Joe in the play, I would definitely love to see his take on this role. If you have not seen this film I highly recommend it.

Extremities is an extreme closeup of a predator and his intended victims who eventually confesses. Only a skillful actor could portray a character that is manipulative and sadistic,yet return to themselves.

I'm used to hearing about Black people fighting against negative stereotypical roles (pimp, drug dealer, gangster, h*e, idiot). But to hear Duncan say that he didn't want to be pigeonholed into the role of the upstanding, articulate Black guy is interesting! I applaud him for wanting to show his range. I'm used to hearing about Black people fighting against negative stereotypical roles (pimp, drug dealer, gangster, h*e, idiot). But to hear Duncan say that he didn't want to be pigeonholed into the role of the upstanding, articulate Black guy is interesting! I applaud him for wanting to show his range. It's crazy how we know a person from one role when in reality they had a whole 3-paged resume prior to what we know them as.
