I don't know why they've done this throughout the last years but the fall damage used to boost the experience. Makes you realize that you gotta excel in the web swinging mechanic.
Exactly!!! But no one has the courage to admit it. I own almost all of those games (except the Lego ones) and my favourite (JUST FOR SWINGING MECHANICS) is still Spiderman 2 I’m sorry.. I’m no boomer or Microsoft fan boy! I own the game and i love it.. simply it feels too much automated and easy.. I don’t have like 4 years Jesus Christ.. I can manage some timing and harder mechanics insomniac..

ok so you say spiderman deals fall damage in video games
but if you actually think about it, he cant deal fall damage
Spiderman has received the genes of a spider, that happened because the spider was radioactive. That caused ionizing radiation and caused his DNA to break, then the spider DNA replaced his own DNA and like that he got spider genes. If you didn't know already, DNA contains all your genes. Like that one trait of the spider is that its terminal velocity is slower than the normal velocity for it to splatter/die. And cuz peter got the spider traits, he technically cant deal fall damage.
But see, there is a possibility he could get hurt while jumping off high buildings.
Im sure this is why later on in amazing spiderman and amazing spiderman 2 he doesn't deal fall damage.

That only works on small animals a tarantula would still die from falling off a building spidermans body should be a mangled pool of blood and bones on the sidewalk since he is atleast an average 200lb man

Being Lightweight Is completely different when compared to actually lifting heavyweight objects.
