Great homily, Father Bill! I was unaware of the different forms of love until I learned them to teach high school Catechism class last year.

    Powerful homily as usually.
I did record a fourth one though many years ago, Fr. Bill: *"storgé"* -- The natural family love between its members. 😇

I love your message to us today Father Bill! (Pun intended!) I didn't know about the history and root of these different types of love. That we are in this world, but not of this world is the message that really resonated with me in your homily. Thank you!
Today, at mass, my parish Priest spoke about the unconditional love of God, and obedience to His commandments. I've been reflecting on this ever since, because it confused me. It seems to me that God's love must be both unconditional, and conditional at the very same time, simultaneously. That God must be the only one who can love us unconditionally, but still hold us to obey his commandments, which are the conditions of being His friend, and receiving His love, His mercy, and His forgiveness. Am I right to think this?
