I didn’t think it would be safe to drink from if the epoxy went to the rim. Please help me to understand. Just starting out and so many say you can’t put your lips were the epoxy is. Great job!!!! I love it so much and want to make this as well to gift and sell.
Great question!! It is all about the epoxy you use. All I use is FDA compliant epoxy. Which is food grade safe after cured. Always read the data sheets which should always be provided by the epoxy company you use. When in doubt always reach out to the company directly! They will be the only ones to give you a true answer. I personally love Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast, Mr Nola’s Glitter Epoxy and FS Supply Shop epoxy’s. They are all amazing AND FDA compliant. I hope this helps 🤗
I just don't understand how someone disliked this tutorial😫 not only is this project very simplistic but the creative mind behind it is an encouraging individual..I think it's sweet☺️ tfs!
Thought I watched all your videos but somehow I missed this one! I wanted to let you know that ever since finding your videos I’ve started epoxying my cups off the turner and I’ve never had such smooth and not bumpy cups! I always would epoxy them while spinning but this way is much easier and I get better results! Thank you! 🥰
Great question because I know I didn’t say why in the video 😅 it helps seal the alcohol inks before the epoxy is applied. Sometimes the color from the inks will disperse bleeding into the epoxy and making them more faded. This helps prevent that.
This is just sooo amazing and inspiring 😲😲😲 I found your channel by accident for the first time today. I was looking for decorative mugs. You’re so talented Sandy thank you 🥰👏🏽👌🏽
absolutely LOVE this!! the alcohol ink gives it a really organic effect 😍 and by the way- thanks for saying you believe in us random strangers watching your videos- it's nice to hear someone say it!
I cannot express how Amazing you are sharing your art and tips! You and your husband make a great team. I'm having my husband watch your DIY turner videos so he can make me my own. Thank you again for being so kind hearted!
Been following you for about a month now and your channel is just amazing. Also love watching your channel grow. When I subscribed you had 1k. So happy for you.
I did make sure the rim was clean with my razor knife and I also sanded as well to make sure it was nice and smooth. You just have to be careful not to sand to much away. It may damage the paint underneath. 💖
I’ve had this happen. I’m usually pretty light handed with the epoxy up by the rim so not to much drips. But you could always tape up the top of the football with electrical tape to squeeze it together more so it doesn’t poof over the top. Or if possible, depending on the size of the football, make sure it’s all the way into the glass not touching the rim. I hope this helps.
Wow that was a cool wine glass it is so beautiful ❤️ That would be a cool idea to do a Halloween themed pumpkin and have the jack o'lantern face on the inside
Thank you for talking about the "walking art". Too many art teachers get angry at the student, when it doesn't come out how the teacher planned it! Art is beautiful in all it's forms, and sometimes the best creations were because of an "accident"!
I love this tutorial! I just recently found your channel and subscribed. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! New to tumblers and love all the techniques you have shared. I have so much to learn! No selling tumblers yet, but maybe. Keep up the great work!
Hi Sandy!! I’ve watched pretty much all your videos searching for the “distressed We the People” tumbler. I just know you’d make one beautifully. I need a tutorial!!
Absolutely gorgeous! You mentioned you made this on a glass cup. Do you think this will also work on a same cup but in plastic? I just bought some from the dollar tree and I would love to try this!
Yes, I use Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast Plus which is FDA compliant. You can find more info on their website www.alumilite.com/ if you’d like to know more
Love your tutorials, and love these glasses. These would make great gifts for xmas. I was wondering about air bubbles in the epoxy, I see a lot of others torching or using a heat gun to get rid of bubbles. You don't mention anything about bubbles, do you have trouble with them?

thank you lots of great tips

I love this!! I'm curious why use Rust-Oleum before the final layer of epoxy?
Great question because I know I didn’t say why in the video 😅 it helps seal the alcohol inks before the epoxy is applied. Sometimes the color from the inks will disperse bleeding into the epoxy and making them more faded. This helps prevent that.
@@SandysOrganizedChaos ahhh I see. That makes sense! So much to learn. 😂
Beautiful cup

Thank you! And that sounds yummy!
Beautiful!

Luv it!!!
Thank you!
Nice Tutorial!! Will definitely try it
Thank you 😊
Could you use polyacrylic or is epoxy better?
Question: you say pump with the epoxy. Is there an actual pump on the bottles?
I have the big jugs with pumps on them, yes.
Another amazing tutorial!
Thank you 🤗

Thank you, Jessica 🥰 this made my day!
Love that look!!@
Love this!!!!
Thank you 😊
I really enjoyed this. Thank you
In love with this cup!!!!! How would you get this cup ready for shipment???
I would use a nice sturdy box and lots of bubble wrap 🤗
Sandy’s Organized Chaos you are amazing thank youuuu!!!
Can I use gloss instead of semi gloss spray.
Absolutely!
Did u have to do any sanding or scraping near the top where u sip from, like all all the other videos I watched or was that part not necessary???
I did make sure the rim was clean with my razor knife and I also sanded as well to make sure it was nice and smooth. You just have to be careful not to sand to much away. It may damage the paint underneath. 💖
@@SandysOrganizedChaos Thank You. Im gonna try my 1st one this weekend. I'm soooo nervous. You video will be on repeat the whole time, lol
Do you think Oracal 651 will be okay for the stencil? I’m worried I won’t be able to remove the vinyl once it’s sat on there for a bit
That’s what I used. Just don’t let it sit over night! lol. I like to get my inks on and peekaboos pulled as soon as that paint is dry.
How long do you let the alcohol ink dry before you pull the vinyl?
jeosmomm0611 alcohol inks dry almost instantly. I pull the vinyls pretty much as soon as I’m done painting the inks on.
How do you keep the epoxy from sticking to the football? Mine always stick to the foam football and ruin it.
I’ve had this happen. I’m usually pretty light handed with the epoxy up by the rim so not to much drips. But you could always tape up the top of the football with electrical tape to squeeze it together more so it doesn’t poof over the top. Thank you for another fun video! Always look forward to see what's coming next.

Lovely cup but what happened to your seeds? lol
This is on a clear wine glass so you can see the seeds on the inside while you drink from it.
@@SandysOrganizedChaos Ohh my gosh lol that makes sense! I didn't even think about that.
Wow that was a cool wine glass it is so beautiful ❤️

I thought the same thing! I may have to do one 🤗 thank you for watching!
How long do you let the last coat cure for?
I believe Alumilite recommends 3 days. I personally like to wait up to five.
Where did u find the football wand mam please
My husband actually made these for me. Here is the video 🤗 ruclips.net/video/Awy0MOMM2RU/видео.html

Can I asked where were the stickers purchased?
The seeds? I just did a google search for watermelon seeds and found some free ones.
What is the name of the glitter from michaels? Trying to find it on their website :)
I believe it is called bubble gum by Recollections
LOVE LOVE LOVE this! I will be participating in a Festival Labor Day wkend...I plan to make some of these as 'Pumpkin' ☝️❤👍😀🎃🍁🍂
Thank you 😊 and great minds think alike! My husband and I said the same about pumpkins while I made this lol

do you use fine glitter
I did for this, yes. But you could use chunky too. Totally up to you.

I don’t really have to much trouble with bubbles. Only when doing coasters. But if you feel more comfortable using a torch, please do. 🤗
art is subjective but its also about intention, If I intend for my glass to look like a melon, itd better look like a melon and not a cat. 😂
Gorg!!!
Thank you 😊
