I tried reviving Super Shock shadows in the past using oil and Duraline but they all worked only temporarily. They were dry again a few days later. It never occurred to me to totally crush them up, and repress them using vitamin e oil. So far, it's been working very well. It's been a week now and they still feel creamy. I had given up on them previously but now I'm actually shopping for more SS eyeshadows! Thank you for sharing this wonderful tip!
OH that's wonderful that it worked for you!! I noticed that the super shocks get dry all the way through and only putting oil or duraline on the top layer doesn't get it all mixed in with the pigments.
I used my repressed SSS yesterday and it is still working so well! I'm glad I was able to refresh it since it is my favorite shade!
I don't like taking the film off of my palette mirrors either. If I want to photograph them, it's nice to have the film on so it can possibly blur whatever might otherwise show up in the photo. It also keeps shards of glass from going into the shadows if I drop the palette and break the mirror. And it's been nice to have the film on when I'm sending decluttered palettes in the mail to their new home. I have a mirror on my vanity table, so I never use the palette mirrors anyway.
I’m the same way! I have a vanity mirror and also a 5x light up mirror that I use to actually do my makeup. I don’t think I have ever used the mirror in a palette. I’m glad to know there are others out there like me! 😂
Same, and it keeps the shadow fresher longer. I keep the palettes in the boxes most of the time as well, when they're in storage.
I love that your palettes look use and abuse. Amazing collection! ❤❤❤
Thank you!! I make sure to do a No Pan Left Behind and touch every pan each year. ❤️
Beautiful collection ❤
Thank you!! What is your favorite color story in your collection?
@@erintaylorwrites I love purples and greens. Favorite green color story would be the Child palette and literally any purples in any palette
@@slr_beauty_and_makeup Oh me too!! Purple is my fav!!!! Green is a close second!
I totally agree with other comments, your eye look is beautiful So, since you have motivated me so much, since I started watching you, this is the first time I have ever stuck to my goals all the way through February. I know that is not much but that is how weak I have been in the past, lol. I stuck to my budget for the first time ever and I am much older than you, lol, and have failed many times since trying to gain control. It sounds dramatic but it is has been a legit problem for me, lol. Anyway, love your videos and love watching your channel grow! Thank you!
OMG that is amazing!!! 🎉👏 I hope you are so stinking (trying not to cuss in comments 😂 ) proud of yourself!!! I am happy to be a motivating factor in your life, but I want you to give yourself all the credit! You could have clicked off my ranting videos about budgeting, or thought to yourself that nothing would help, but YOU made the changes and that is freaking HUGE!!!
Here is to the first of many goals met! Thank you for the support and engaging with me, it helps to get my videos out to more people who are looking to make a change also!! ❤️
I loved seeing your collection! You have a great collection 😍 Thanks for sharing it with us! 😊
Thank you!! I can honestly say that I am very happy with my collection at this point. It will take some very special palettes to come along to spark my interest
Nice collection❤
thank you!!! 😊
I love watching videos of panned and loved eyeshadow palettes. 😍
P.S. You look gorgeous, and I envy your hairline. 🤭
If you love panning you have come to the right place! 😂
and my hairline is filled with powder. 😂 My hair started thinning a few years ago so I have a hairline powder that I use when I film ❤️
Your make up looks so good!!!! Love love your eye look!
Thank you!!!!! 😍
I just use the excess little bit of face oli you get off a dropper and rub it on the top of a super shock and it revives it without putting too much oil to dry it out. Its not even an actual drop of oil but what you get after you empty the dropper. Always works for me and doesnt change the consistency
Thank you Alex! I’ve been watching your channel for years now and know you are the Queen of making your products work for you! I just played with the super shock today and it still feels really good and applies better than when it was new, IMO. ❤️
Gosh!!! I’m loving the makeup!!! That’s amazing, I think it looks great!
Thank you!!! I had so much fun doing this!!
Loved seeing your collection 🤩
Thanks so much 😊
This was so much fun to watch! You definitely have a type! But they are shades that make you happy! You look so amazing in greens! Love the look in your intro and outro. I have some inglot mixing liquid to refresh my shocks. I haven't tried it yet on my drier shocks but I also have vitamin E so I will try that too! Oh the Groovy Garden is totally your jam! Good for you for resisting!!! The Cold Moon. That's the one that's tempting me. Luckily, the only palette.
I think the Cold Moon has a hold over both of us! 😅 The Groovy Garden has so many mattes, that I know that I would be disappointed with it when the dopamine wore off from the purchase. The vitamin E oil has seemed to work, the super shock is still very creamy and picks up a lot of pigment! I know that oils can spoil though, so I will keep an eye on it.
Sure have some of these. There are always new palettes I want, but when I look through the palettes I have, nothing is really missing, and I love my stash. & I miss those Peachy days too, the matte peach lipstick collection was amazing and had some of my favorite shades ever.
Too Faced Peach days were the best! Such amazing products!
It's a bitter sweet feeling for me to love what I have, but also not be excited about the new stuff that is coming out. I still love makeup, but I love the makeup I already have, or my holy grails that I know work for me. All the new, just seems like it's been done before and a waste of money to try.
I hope that something comes along this year to get the spark going again, but not to much...LOL still have a budget to stick to!
Hi Erin! I just found your channel via YT recommendation… I do love an eyeshadow palette collection and declutter video! I have myself around 80ish palettes in my collection, I love playing with my makeup, reorganising it… I have quite a few palettes that I’ve depoted and rearranged (like the ABH ones, I made them magnetic and now I have brand new colors stories!)
Hey!! Welcome! I'm glad you found my little corner of the internet!!
I think 80ish is a good number. It's enough that you can get through all of them in a year, but still have some unique and special palettes as well!
I am still thinking about taking apart some of my palettes. I need to find some cute magnetic palettes (I kind of feel they need to be cute for me to really get into depoting). I can defiantly see my ABH palettes being taken apart at some point!
I hope that you stick around and check out some of my other content! My project pan video is going up tomorrow! ❤️
Beautiful collection 🤩 I don't think there is a color story created that i do not own a bunch of already. Steff from Steff beauty stash is coming out with a collab palette and i will be purchasing that as she is one of my favorite to watch and support, but other than that I'm not tempted by anything coming out. I'm truly enjoying my collection.
Thank you dear!! I had no idea how many repeating color stories I had until doing this!! So eye opening! I totally understand collab palettes and wanting to support a creator that you know and love!
Thanks for sharing your collection! Enjoyed seeing your stash. ❤ Currently been tempted by ND’a xenon palette as the only colorstory im missing from my current curated collection is a greyish gradient colorstory. But I can’t justify the price for something I prolly wont use as often as I would my regular neutrals, if that makes sense. Tho, Beauty Bay did recently release their usual 9/16/42 stock sets w a grey gradient so I may go w that instead. Other brands have been launching similar grungy tones (Colourpop’s Twilight, Glamlight’s horror themes, etc) but yeah, seriously tempted by the grey tones. 😂
I would say no to xenon. Go with beauty bay or colourpop for gray tones. ND is too expensive for 15 pans of slightly different tones of black/gray. Maybe get the mini xenon (on sale) if you are really wanting ND. ❤️ You’ll have to let me know what you decide!
I bought about 4 palettes recently because they were on really good sale and all from brands ive never really used before. So i bought them to try something new or ive been wanting for a long time. I am tempted to picl up an ensley reign palette but ill have to wait for a sale.
Just an FYI. A lot of creators, myself included, are taking a pause from supporting ER Cosmetics because they were interacting with anti LGBTQ+ content on instagram. There are some other RUclipsrs like Jen Luvs that did in-depth videos about it, if you want to see for yourself and make a decision if you want to support the brand at this time. Just wanted to let you know so you can put your purchases towards brands you support. ❤️
@erintaylorwrites just curious what brands have similar shimmers to look into instead?
@@alishacuddy2473 BellaBeauteBar has very pretty shimmers. Or I would go with singles from a brand like Give Me Glow or Terra Moon. I've not tried a whole lot of indie, so I might not be the best resource. Angelica Nyqvist is the queen of indie, so I would watch some of her content as well. ❤
Hi dear what eyeshadow are u wearing on ur eyes?
Looks so stunning 😍
Hey there! I always have my eyeshadow listed in my description box, but in this video I am using the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes palette and the ColourPop Super Shock in Birthday Girl, which was the birthday shade from 2017, so both old old products but they are will working beautifully!! ❤
Thanks for replying @@erintaylorwrites
I don’t take the plastic off of my mirrors either!
Yes!!
