- What are the top 4 best things to see in St Kitts on a Caribbean cruise? Join Kaz and Nige as we explore the island of St Kitts on our latest Caribbean cruise on P&O's newest ship Arvia. We start off in a tropical rain storm as we get off the ship early morning and head out into port to meet our pick up from Sunny Blue Scooter Rentals. It's a short 5 minute ride to collect our quad bike then we are set loose to explore the island independently. As we take the coastal ride our first stop is Brimstone Hill Fortress. Designed by the British military and built by African slaves this impressive hill top fortification has enjoys some of the best views on St Kitts.
Next we mount our quad bikes and after negotiating the steep windy hillside road we drive to the must see location of Timothy Hill. Cameras at the ready we park alongside the tour buses and take in the most incredible view of the islands peninsular with the Caribbean sea on one side and the Atlantic on the other.
On then to our third stop as we dodge the rain showers and head down to the coast on a search for the 'Cruise With Kaz & Nige' hat. We left it behind last year at the Shipwreck Beach Bar at South Friars Bay. Situated on a dark sand beach this rugged ramshackle bar is another must see on your day in port. Take an opportunity to paddle in the sea and try the local jerk chicken - watch out for the home made hot sauce, it's HOT!
Our final stop number 4 on the list is another cruise excursion favourite, Cockle Shell Bay Beach. With beach loungers and umbrellas to rent with a choice of two sea side bars take time to soak up the Caribbean sunshine and enjoy a snorkel in the calm waters. We saw a variety of fishes but the turtles were elusive this time.

Would definitely recommend it. It's a great way to see the Island independently. The hire company can also sort out an off road route if you like.
