Best of luck Don! Columbus fans deserve to see the team move in the right direction. As a habs fan who had to deal with years of a trainwreck I really hope its done the right way.
Loving what I hear about the handshake between Don and Dean in this interview. If you look at successful rebuilds across all sports, a common theme is the GM and coach being on the same page about what types of players to acquire and how they should be deployed. We're far off from the playoffs still but I have hope that this duo can get us back sooner rather than later!
Awesome DW , we're glad to have you and if there was another player that wasn't happy or playing good hockey maybe he could go to, love the direction, can't wait for hockey season!!!!
He's already said he'd like Elvis to get back to form this season. He'll determine by the end of the season what to do with him depending on the outcome.
@@SticksAndTape thank you for your respond, but Elvis dosent want to be a jacket, he already ask for a trade long time ago...and the GM is gonna bring him back...?? it dosent fit with what the GM saying about, he wanted only players that want to be a jacket. and an other question the nice journalist didnt ask its : we heard rumors about the jacket cancer in the group. 5 players wanted Laine out, its true or not?
@@Franklo_Chill Elvis walked back those comments from the winter along with his agent. It might be in the cards to move him at the trade deadline this season. Especially if he gets back to form. If not, they have the option to trade or buy him out next off-season. I'd like to see him moved so Tarry and Jet can be our duo in the show.
@@SticksAndTape I believe in Elvis, he is a good goaler, i didnt know he walked back from those comment. I wish Columbus a good season, i like your prospects alot. Thank you for responding A+
Interesting for Bob to bring up Mateychuk. He kinda seems blocked with the Harris trade until we can unload Provorov at the deadline. Werenski - Severson ;-( Provorov - Jiricek Harris - Gudbranson Johnson
Harris is there now too but can play both sides. Im a big mateychuck fan so hopefully they can move a couple guys to make room for mateychuck and jiricek. Theyre definitely the future but we should move the other guys first to recoup picks we gave up( or use one of them to get someolike marner).
Don't get me wrong I think Jiricek will certainly be in the mix at some point, and I was impressed with some of his skills at the AHL level. With that said, I watch every CBJ game, he always seems to be outta position, and frustrated with himself. Then because of his frustration, he ends up taking stupid penalties. The last thing I'll say is don't be the guy that runs to the media because you didn't get called up. You wanna get called up, prove you deserve it, and if you didn't get the call, then you know you have more work to do.
With all the money saved from the Laine trade on the cap, the Jackets should sign goalie Jeremy Swayman to an offer sheet. The Bruins are so cheep, I doubt they’d match it.
$6,871,374 - $9,161,834 1 1st-round pick, 1 2nd-round pick, 1 3rd-round pick $9,161,834 - $11,452,294 2 1st-round picks, 1 2nd-round pick, 1 3rd-round pick It would take at least 8m AAV, probably more to pull him away from BOS, so likely looking at that bottom line. Would certainly be interesting, but I think Don wants to see where this team is at in their rebuild before committing like that. Even assuming BOS doesn't match.
I feel sorry for Bluejacket players especially the ones drafted by the organization. I do hope Don Waddell can somehow turn around this organization. It is well known this ownership and management group has been a dumpster fire of mismanagement at all levels since the teams inception almost 25 yrs ago. A long list of players being traded out or signing elsewhere just getting the hell out of that organization. The fanbase deserves much better. Just look at the draft picks over the years. Many years you wont see a well known hockey name. What really has the Bluejackets meant to the quality of the NHL except just a date on the schedule for 31 other teams.......
How bad is the Columbus Bluejackets? New GM Waddell said first thing he did was contact all the players and asked if they want to be there????? Millionaire under 30 yr olds that play a game for a living and need to be asked if they want to do it on that team? Ownership may want to address what they are doing wrong and what management has done wrong to every player that came to this organization cause something is absolutely off.
8.7 million in cap space is insane. Go to Puckpedia and look how many teams are over or close to cap ceiling. Many of those teams still have top rfas to sign.

If Elvis falters early in the season, call up Jet to pair with Tarisov. Elvis needs to step up this season.
Great Interview
There is one missing question...What are you intend to do with Elvis? Journalists are nice in Columbus!
He’s been pretty adamant all off-season in saying that he’s probably not going anywhere

Don your the boss balance and stable is all you can do. But one by one is how you. Move
Thank you Don!
a fair trade for both teams, #HABS gain top 6 scorer they needed and can afford to pay 2nd rnd pick for HARRIS who was a 3rd rnder = fair trade.

They have no media members so they had to do a podcast with the team to upload on RUclips.
