Notes: Stacks are back (well at least, temporarily)! A short term customer, Picatinny Arsenal has contracted the NYS&W to move some containers via rail. Trucks would bring the trailers to Sparta Junction, load them on to the flat cars behind Sparta Redi Mix, then interchange them with the NS at Marion Junction (which is why the stacks always went east and the empties always went west - and why they were never seen west of Sparta Junction). I don't know the contents of the trailers, but this arrangement was in place for approximately 6 months. I believe this movement was the last one, at the completion of the contract. The contract started in June of 2021.
