The ai and switches in this game kills me. It always switches me to the person BEHIND the puck carrier, which causes me to get out of position, and the ai cannot position themselves for their lives. EA has turned these games into failures, and get us all hyped up for the same copy and paste game.
Yeah I might go back to 23. It's easier to play . 24 controller buttons suck. Using the analog stick to shoot is dumb and will probably wear out your controller quick
This game is so ridiculously broken, starting with the new match making. Just insane how many teammates are left behind in the dressing room while only the host join the game, match-up take forever generally 5+ minutes and they made the opposing team in idle mode while searching so you can't tell if the room is filling up or just in a never ending loop searching. The new pressure system is way too powerful, hitting is up and down, it still glide way too much around bodies, reverse hit on R3 is just plain dumb and create a bunch of accidental click when using the skill stick. Dumping the puck is in a atrocious spot right now. And on and on.... There is so much incompetence at EA it's crazy and they obviously don't test their game before launch. Sad state for the NHL franchise, the new team behind NHL24 are clueless.

In this gameplay he would score 0. The 1997 ea game was more like the real life game than 2024.

Goalie control in this game is brutal, used to play the competitive EASHL leagues and wanted to get back into that this year with Goalie and there are so many luck factors that come into play and the best way to play G is hugging post and playing Deep in the net

Dude this game used to be so fun in the NHL 09 to 11 days. EASHL was insanely good back then and the gameplay was amazing. Skill gap was huge. I can’t for the life of me understand how they got away from that and have produced the most trash games in video game history ever since NHL 12. Every game since has been hot garbage outside of NHL 17-19 which were just ok.
It's the same thing that has happened with all modern games. The companies do not want there to be large skill gaps or barriers to entry for new players. I very clearly recall the EASHL gameplay in the time period you are talking about. I played for many clubs over the course of that time and had some amazing moments. At that time the only way you could even stand a chance in a game was to play a lot and improve your play. Today the market is for people with such short attention spans that they need to make the game feel 'fun' for everyone despite how much work youre willing to put in. This is the way mainstream gaming has headed and has made me no longer interested in playing.
I think i'll wait until NHL 25 there are alot of thing's about this game i honestly don't like and don't care for and majority of thing's that just don't make sense and don't seem realistic....hockey CAN be a fast sport but it also has slowed down moment's as well and i thought with the new pressure system this would be the first year and the perfect year that the A.I offensively and defensively would start to cycle the puck in the offensive and defensive zone's ya know like real hockey lol......also the passing seems unrealistic in my eye's there are passes that seem to make it that in real life they wouldn't and be a pro and the trade logic in be a pro and franchise is terrible they didn't even touch be a pro and barely touched franchise so i think i'll wait good review

Playing goalie is so incredibly bad it’s actually pathetic. You can come out to challenge slightly and 2 seconds later you’re back on the goal line. You automatically hug the post too. I’m a goalie in real life, and I won’t be playing goalie until the patch that allows you to toggle it in the settings.

The be a pro mode is a mess. Yes it’s the same from the last 2 years but now it’s worse. They have WAY TOO MANY on screen graphics going on. I was in a 12-4 game and it kept showing a stat of my points. This was game 2 of 82 also. The coach challenge takes too long. The commentary in between games makes it seem like the game is chatting to itself. It’s unrealistic and I just find it annoying after again and again. When in the NHL do ya see a coach come running up the bench just to a player 🤣

You can still get a refund if you bought it at target. That’s what I do with Madden. I buy it to see how bad it is and take it back a few days later to target and get my 80 back. I just tell I’m the game is broken lol
