Our iconic singer and HE IS THE G.O.A.T(Greatest Of All Time) you have a long way to go with Mr. John Farnham. I had the privilege of sitting in that audience. He’s a true gentlemen and his sense of humour 🤣🤣🤣🤣! Best LIVE performer ever in my humble opinion. You should when the War Is Over from the Last Time concert in 2003! Great reaction.
Please check out his version of Help live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. It will really show you his vocal talent. One of the best male vocalists of modern times.
@@BladeRunnermedia I’m subscribed!! Look forward to the journey. John has a 3 octave vocal range, and can sing just about any genre from soul/blues, rock, theatre, even light opera.
Perfect pronunciation of Johns name . He is an absolute legend here , the whole country adores him . He’s a National Treasure and was Australian of the Year . One of the greatest singers ever , he has a great sense of humour , a fantastic rapport with his audience and us simple a really wonderful man . Always react to live clips as they are soooo incredible .
An Australian Legend with many hit songs and been performing for decades. Last performance was in 2019 and his voice was very much the same. He is now 73 years old and recovering from surgery for cancer. His LIVE performances with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra are the best. He has performed with many well known stars including Celine Dion, Tom Jones, etc. He is so loved and admired for his humour and down to earth guy next door personality. He loves to joke around on stage and his audiences love him. He loves tte audience to sing along with him. He can cover many genres of music including Opera, jazz, Soul, pop. Try him singing Your The Voice, Help, Granada, Imagine and the list goes on.
Everyone has already said it all…an epic performer and an epic man…this rabbit hole is a deep one… John leads to Jimmy Barnes,to Ian Moss to Jack Jones,to guy Sebastian,to Joe Bonamassa…hope you enjoy the ride
Australian audiences have had the pleasure of enjoying John's music for many years. It's really only over the last couple of years that through reaction channels, such as yours, his music is finding an expansive worldwide audience now and everyone asks the same question. "Holy crap, how have I never heard of this guy before?" lol
Yes, John Farnham is an (Australian) super star! In fact he is a musical genius. You have not heard of him as he preferred to stay in Australia with his family, although he did do some concerts overseas. All his concerts in Australia were sell-outs many times over. John Farnham has a big vocal range, sings in over twenty genres, has a music career spanning six decades, has had top hits in every one of those, is a consummate performer, is electric and charismatic on stage, has wonderful rapport with his audience, chooses only the best for his backing band and back-up vocal support and gives them credit, has sung with top singers from around the world who sing his praises, often sings songs with a message for the greater good of the world, was given the 'Australian of the Year' Award in 1987, by the Australian Government, for services of over twenty years to the Australian musical industry, and is a funny, humble, genuine, charitable man loved by many Aussies. Any song that you choose will be amazing. Always hear and see him LIVE where his Soul shines. We wish John the best for his healing journey after a long operation for mouth cancer. P.S. Australia has lots of first rate singers and bands who the world has never heard of. Welcome to the exploration of the Aussie rabbit hole, the true Land of Oz, the 'land down under' and enjoy!
barnowl I hope you subscribe and come for the ride on John's incredible voice. Im going to do all of his songs! Well as many as i can find on youtube! :)
What a rabbit hole you've discovered!! John had hits in every decade from the 60's. He was Australian of the year, Is a Living National Treasure and was King of Pop 5 times. He could wrap a crowd around his little finger but never wanted to leave Australia. Sadly, he has recently had major surgery for mouth cancer. Get well soon, John.
Yes he is a Superstar. GREAT reaction. You've just got another new sub. He started as a teen idol in Australia in 1967 when he was 18. And was our King of Pop for 5 years running. IN 1982, he replaced Glenn Shorrock as the lead singer of the Little River Band who had been huge in the US in the 70's. After spending time touring in the US with LRB he realised that he missed his family and home too much and as things weren't going well with LRB, decided to leave and go Solo again in 1986/7. This time he came back bigger and better than ever before and became a Superstar and still is to this day. He has had number one hit singles and albums in 6 consecutive decades, from 1967 to 2016. Last Time he performed was just before Covid hit in 2020 ar a charity bash He holds the record for the highest selling album ever by an Aussie Artist Whispering Jack 24x platinum. And second only to Meat Loaf 26 x Platinum for Bat Out of Hell, when international artists also taken into consideration. At his peak, he even outsold more venues and tickets than any other artist local or international artist including Michael Jackson. He has won more Austrlaian music awards than any other artist. AUS music industry singers have voted John as the best singer this country has ever had. He has been Australian of the Year.. The list goes on. His biggest worldwide hit was You're The Voice ...which did chart top 100 in the US. And also top 10 in various European countries including some number ones. At 73 he is still Australia's most loved performer. Sadly at the moment he is recovering from cancer surgery ...so we don't expect to ever get to hear him sing live again ....but if he did the tickets would sell out in minutes .. The best and only way to watch John Farnham is Live ....some of the most incredible performances were with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. So any thing from that concert is great. Also the Chain Reaction, Expo 88, The Main Event, Jesus Christ Superstar, Together with Tom Jones when he was a bit older is also great... Some songs to check out *HELP, It's a Long Way to the Top, You're the Voice and Playing to Win, ...live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra... *Blow by Blow, Pressure Down and Age of Reason from EXPO 88 Concert. *Chain Reaction, Loves in Need and See the Banners Fall from Chain Reaction concert *Please Don't Ask Me duet with Olivia Newton John and Grenada duet with Anthony Warlow from The Main Event Concert.. GETHSEMANE from *Jesus Christ Superatar *Angels duet with his backup singer Lisa Edwards. *When the War is Over 2003 from the Last Time Concert *When Something is Wrong with my Baby Duet with another Aussie Legend Jimmy Barnes. Oh and he also does a great cover of Led Zeplins Black Dog as a sound check/warm up...so it's audio only Seriously. This is just the tip of a huge iceburg.
He's an Australian music legend, you should watch "Help" (with the melbourne symphony orchestra) a Beatles cover he made his own.. Always always do a live version when listening to farnesy... His record company tried to get him to go to US but he refused to leave his young family at the time.. Check out these other songs; *when the banner falls *all our sons & daughters *Angels *time has come *when the war is over *chain reaction So so many more... You are the first one to pronounce his last name correctly!!👍👍👍
Subscribed!!! Can't wait to watch you go down the Farnsey rabbit hole as 60 decades to go through. Recently had 11.5 hour surgery for jaw cancer , while Australia held its breathe that he would pull through. John is dearly loved and adored here in Australia. If you react to John , we Aussies will come in droves. While John recovers we want to gives back and support him by putting him up on the world stage to appriecate what we have known and enjoyed all our lives. For John is the GOAT, THE VOICE and the most humble, funny and nicest gentleman you will come across. Enjoy ! 😊
With John and many other aussie singers, always watch their LIVE concert video clips. Album is great, but Live is mind blowing. There are a lot of American and English Legends who were stunned and are fans of Farnham's work and singing. Tom Jones, Celine Dion, Ray Charles and many more are really big fans of his and many more like John Lennon, Freddy Mercury and many more others were just stunned by his energy and ability to just keep going after 3 hours of concert and not slow done an inch and were quite endeered by him.
'He has a nice voice' is what people say before they get blown away and realise that he is one of the greatest singers of all time. We call him The Voice. Songs I'd recommend are, 'Gethsemane', last night live Sydney 1992, 'When Something is Wrong With My Baby', with Jimmy Barnes, the Hey Hey it's Saturday live performance is amazing. 'It's a Long Way to the Top' with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and 'Help', from the same concert. They're just starters though. There isn't a bad Farnsey song and there's 50 years of his career to pick from.
You got the name right first go. He was born in England, grew up in aussie, started his career in the 60's. Tha amarican record exects cudn't find a "Genre for him." He came home, so you guys missed out. He had a hit in Europe in the 8's? Or so, played in Germany. He has played wit a lot of greats, like Ray Charles, and Celine Dion. Tom Jones loves his voice. Pavarotti asked how many operas had he been in. He saidvnone i'm rock singer. Pavarotti said why not? John did aJesus Christ Superstar, as Jc himself try Gethsemane. Or on our love tv show, Hey, Hey, It's Saturday, wih the ensemble cast, for Ev'ry things alright. From the 60's Georgia, with Jimmy Barnes, (Barnsey and Farnsey) When Something is Wrong with my Baby. Try the melbourne concert with their symphony Orchestra... anything, including the encores after 2 hours, You're the voice and Help. Try please Don't ask me with Olivia Newton-John, childhood friend, then Granada wih aussie opera , theatre legend Anthony Warlow, Grenada. It's a long list, hhave fun.
Good to see you have discovered John. Our living legend❤ John is always best live. John chose not to leave Australia for family reasons. He is extremely loved here. He is known as the voice and his song You're the Voice is known by every Aussie known. It's an unofficial Aussie anthem. His version with the Melbourne Symphony orchestra is amazing as was that whole concert. He was a close friend to Olivia Newton John and was diagnosed with cancer the day Olivia passed away. He will always turn up for Charity events. Yes he is a superstar. He does a version of the Beatles Help that is totally different. Yes you are pronouncing his name correctly. It doesn't matter what he sings it's always amazing. It was me who told hou about him in your first live cross lol. It was 4 in the morning here.
@@BladeRunnermedia Please Dont ask me with Olivia Newton John is mesmerising. His best is Help imo, and his most engaging is duet When something is wrong with my baby with the other Aussie icon, Jimmy Barnes. That's yet another rabbit warren to explore
@@BladeRunnermedia have a listen to The "You're the Voice " and "Help" from the concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Some others are "When the War is Over" either solo or with Jimmy Barnes, "Angels", "Playing to Win" also at the same concert as the other two. That one he wrote himself. Honestly anything John does is amazing. He is 73 now and up until a couple of months ago still sounded the same. He was diagnosed with mouth cancer the day Olivia Newton John passed. He and Olivia were life long friends and also sang several duets probably the best was "Please don't ask me". "Two Strong Hearts" and "Paradise " are also worth a listen. Better stop because the list goes on. Like the Beegees John has been around since the last 60s.
Your the first person to get his name spot on Next 3 songs you should what him do all from one concert Beatles help with Melbourne symphony orchestra Voice with Melbourne symphony orchestra AC /DC song with Melbourne symphony orchestra Mate he has 5 decade's of no1s Also another ledgen Jimmy barnes they do a song together John Farnham Jimmy barnes Singing when there something wrong with my baby live version and guitar 🎸 is Aussie solo artist Jimmy has 4 decade's of no1s as well good friends John is a people's person you will notice in all his songs he always bring someone to the front for their talents Tonnes we can give welcome down the rabbit hole as we say here Also John can sing any genre play rock blues musicals ect very versatile singer and most he covers love what he dose with the some even say better as a person Stella never herd a bad word about him in public or entertainment industries rare and didn't want to leave his family still with his wife even today did a couple trip out of country but very rare 🦘🇦🇺👍
You pronounced his name perfectly. John is very special to Australians. He is so down to earth, love to have a joke and entertain people. He’s never had a bad day at the “office” ever which sounds amazing because he was a heavy cigarette smoker for years. A few of the song people will request like You’re the Voice, Help (Beatles cover), It’s a Long Way to the Top and Playing to Win come from the concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. That was an amazing concert. There was also a tour he did with Olivia Newton John and Anthony Warlow called The Main Event and there’s a couple of songs to checkout from that called “Hi Art” and That’s Life. JOHN CAN SING ANYTHING!!! Welcome to our favourite son and this endless rabbit hole your now in! ❤
John Peter Farnham AO (born 1 July 1949) is a British born Australian singer. Farnham was a teen pop idol from 1967 until 1979, billed then as Johnny Farnham, but has since forged a career as an adult contemporary singer. Farnham has become one of his country's best-known and most popular performers and he is the only Australian artist to have a number-one record in five consecutive decades. Farnham has been recognised by many honours and awards, including 1987 Australian of the Year, 1996 Officer of the Order of Australia, and 19 ARIA Awards, including his 2003 induction into the Hall of Fame. From 1969 he was voted by TV Week readers as the 'King of Pop' for five consecutive years. Peace Out.
John sang with the Little River Band (fairly well known and successful in US) after their original lead singer Glenn Shorrock left. He left after 4 years and performed as a solo artist from then on. He has sung with other Australian artists such as Jimmy Barnes (an Australian rock legend) and Olivia Newton John, as well as Ray Charles and Tom Jones. He also played the role of Jesus in the Aust version of Jesus Christ Superstar - you should check out his "Gethsemane" performance. Certainly on a par with the original by Ian Gillan.
Yes, you got his name correct...well done. There appear to be many clips on RUclips.... always go with a live concert.... a concert with John means you have to PARTICIPATE !!! He loves to perform to an audience over a long career!
* = recommended reaction John Farnham is at legendary status in Australia his professional music career started in 1967 but last year is now in doubt that he ever sing again after being diagnosed with mouth cancer . John’s early years was more ultra commercialised pop , novelty pop , big band jazz he didn’t have much say on his career direction sadly he was control by his then recording company EMI . And was also known as Johnny Farnham in those early years. His Johnny era best known songs Sadie ( The Cleaning Lady) 1967 Australian number 1 * One ( Harry Nelson , 3 Dog Night cover ) 1969 Australian number 4 * Raindrops ( Keep Falling On My Head ) BJ Thomas cover , Australian number 1 * Comic Conversation Australian number 10 * Don’t You Know It’s Magic Australian number 12 By the mid 70’s John married the love his life against his management and record companies wishes , they wanted Johnny to keep the eligible bachelor profile to sell records , once Johnny’s hits started to decline in the charts his record company dropped him in 1974 . The late 70’s John was considered washed up by the industry and music critics and spent 5 years lost in the industry just performing in suburban clubs with a house band sometimes with no one but his own family . 1980 good fortune started to happen. Glenn Wheatley who was a friend a manager of the Little River Band becomes John’s manager the same year John gets back into studio and records one best rearrangements of a Beatles song ever * Help Australian number 8 in 1980 . This version of John’s Tina Turner cover 4 years later for her Private Dancer album . The very early 80s was little more promising for he had his first Farnham band . One of the guitarist was very young Tommy Emmanuel . And was taking music more mature and more rock pop driven . But in 1982 Little River Band was fighting among members and the original singer Glenn Shorrock left and John was asked to join . John recorded 3 underrated albums with the Little River Band and number LRB songs did reach the American charts . The Other Guy , American number 11 , 1983 We Two , American number 22 , 1983 Down On The Border , Australian number 7 in 1982 John’s signature LRB song Playing To Win 1984 didn’t chart in the top 50 but still remains a fan favourite. John left LRB in 1986 while he was working on new solo album that nobody was ready for . October 1986 saw the release of album Whispering Jack Australia number 1 , 24x Australian Platinum copies sold that’s s about 1,680,000 in a country of 18 million in the late 80’s that’s a massive achievement . Whispering Jack also featured the smash hit * You’re The Voice also Australian number 1 and it was a top ten hit in most countries it charted in , but not USA . American band Heart covered it and made there version a minor hit in 1990 . Other hits from Whispering Jack * Pressure Down 1986 Aus number 3 * A Touch Of Paradise 1987 Aus number 15 In 1988 John was named Australian Of The Year for achieving a unthinkable for a local artist. Selling over million for one album . Whispering Jack is still 2nd highest selling album within Australia just behind Meat Loafs - Bat Out Hell . But remain the highest selling album domestically by an Australian artist. John latter adult, contemporary rock years . John had many hit albums and songs 1988 Album , Age Of Reason Australian number 1 Songs - * Age Of Reason Australian number 1 * Two Strong Heats Australian number 4 Album Chain Reaction 1990 Australian number 1 Songs - * Chain Reaction Aus number 5 This song - That’s Freedom Aus number 5 * Burn For You Aus number 4 1991 John was asked by Jimmy Barnes another Australian music legend to joined him and record a cover of Sam & Dave - * When Something Is Wrong With My Baby Aus number 3 . 1992 John join the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar as Jesus . The song * Gethsemane from JCS The late 90’s 2 more hit albums A rumour surfaced in the mid 90’s that UK rock band Queen had asked John to join them after Freddie Mercury passed away earlier in the decade . Apparently Freddie Mercury was a massive fan . Obviously John decline the offer . 90’s saw 2 more hit albums and a duet collaboration with Australian vocal group Human Nature with the soulful song * Every Time You Cry John toured with Olivia Newton-John for the first time in 1998 2000’s After releasing a soul album 33 1/3 In 2002 John decided to scale down and go into semi retirement after one just massive tour The Last Time . Since then John albums have become further apart and tours have been less frequent and in size unless it was an charity event John was aways involved somehow . John’s last performance was at Firefight Charity benefit concert in Sydney 2020 just before covid pandemic took over the world . Olivia Newton John also performed with John it was also her last performance alive .
His catalogue is almost endless and he is best taken live. Most of us prefer his live versions to his studio versions. His first hit was in 1967 and we grew up with John in our lounge rooms on our black and white TVs from the late 60s and early 70s. A couple of studio versions worth really looking at are “One” (1969) and “Age of Reason” (1988). Mind you he performs those two magnificently live as well. He is becoming an overnight sensation in the USA after 55 years in the industry.
He made it to the USA as the singer with Little River Band. He took over from the original singer, Glenn Shorrock, for a short while, but missed his family too much. His anthem song is "You're the Voice". Most Australians know him as "The Voice" - with good reason.
He was known in Vegas - he fronted for the LITTLE RIVER BAND when Glenn Shorrock (lead singer) was asked to leave. He did concerts in Vegas then. Also Queen wanted him to replace Freddie Mercury but he didn't want to leave Australia.
You’re the Voice is his most famous song. Anything by John is brilliant. I like watching his interviews as well. He is such a funny down to earth fellow that loves to sing and gets along with everyone. That’s why we love him
New sub here, I enjoyed your reaction, thank you. It’s been a while since listening to this song. You got the pronunciation spot on, awesome! Funny that you said The Voice, because that’s what we Aussies (pronounced Ozzies) call him. If you know Olivia Newton John, another beautiful Aussie, she sings a duet with John (in a concert called The Main Event) called Please Don’t Ask Me, a poignant star-crossed lover song, full of beautiful harmonies and shows the great friendship they had for each other. Other songs are best chosen with the Melbourne (Mel-bn) Symphony Orchestra, always live where possible for most Aussie artists.
Welcome to the world of JF this man is loved by Aussies, the more you react to John you’ll realise why. I agree watching His live performances is the only way to go, John engages with the audiences like no other. The Aussie audience will ask for that song, the song is Sadie the cleaning lady he along with the audience have a lot of fun with this one. Aussies truly believe John is The GOAT.
Please react to “a touch of paradise” and “burn for you” from this same concert where he’s wearing that black shirt both amazing songs. Much appreciate you and your reactions
You have just opened the cover of the John Farnham book. He began his singing career in the 1960's and has just kept evolving. he can sing any type of music genre. There are 2 must videos for you to react to, which will give you a better indication of his talent and vocal range. They are "You're the Voice" and "Help" the Beatles song that has been totally rearranged. These are live performances from the same concert in Melbourne where he has his normal band backing him, but also the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. A lot of Aussie artists and groups go to the US, but return back home, as they don't like the music industry control they want, its either their way or no way. And Aussies don't like to be told what to do.
Well done BR. Great job! Pronunciation and observations spot on. Yes, a superstar in Oz. Exceptionally versatile performer - covers all genres of music. His best known song that elevated his career is "You're the Voice". Also his best known internationally, particularly Europe, and many have covered it since. The best performance of it was with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (ruclips.net/video/6m2m_9Uijso/видео.html). This was an amazing concert and you could watch any of the clips from it and be blown away. I expect you will get many recommendations for his cover of "Help" from the same concert. He totally changes it in his fantastic version - totally unregconisable from the original recorded by The Beatles - except for the lyrics. The one rule for Farnsey is watch live performances over the sterile official studio releases. His personality, stage presence and crowd interaction lifts his performances to another level. I'm looking forward to watching you discover Farnsey.
@@BladeRunnermedia Hey I wasnt expecting a reply! I never do lol. Thanks for that & 👍👍 I think I have made 👍👍 my 'thing' for you as I notice you say it 😊
Just wait until you hear his version of Help from the Beatles live with the symphony orchestra or You're the voice from that same show. He's an icon in Australia with dozens of classic songs but always go for the live versions.
Hi Blair, I’m going to do that song today. Remember I’m in New York City so our time zones are way off so in next 6-8 hours I will have more content up. I hope you subscribe 😘
I saw this tour live. His gratitude for his fans is legendary. He could sell out venues holding 10’s of thousands of people. Then come to my home town, where the biggest auditorium at Shellharbour Workers Club held 2000 people MAXIMUM. And give us his absolute best. Where I got to listen to him standing 3 metres from the stage. Saw him there twice. (And 3 others at different places). Joined by Jimmy Barnes for his encore (yes I saw that live). Anyone who’s ever experienced live music will have been to concerts where the songs you got to love “on wax”, just didn’t measure up, or you know 3 or 4 tunes, and most of the rest seems to be filler. With John, he’s always better live, and every song is a hit. You know the words to all of them. I’ve seen Elton John live. John Farnham is better.
Hello, why not start with a technically difficult piece from John. Gethsemane, from the 1992 Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar. After this performance, you will have a new perspective, confirming your initial intuition.
Hello Chris, Thanks for the suggestion. I may do just that. If not today tomorrow 100%. Hope you subscribe and join me and my channel on the journey. Thank you for your support 👍🏻😉😀
Great to see you have discovered The Voice that is John Farnham ( you pronounce his name correctly) here is one with another legend of Aussie mussie Jimmy Barnes ruclips.net/video/RAlFHSPLHpo/видео.html When Something is Wrong with my Baby and Help John's version of the Beatles Help ruclips.net/video/dv54giOSRKs/видео.html 😁🇦🇺🎼🎵
You need to dive in...this is a great performance but you need to know that this song is at the end of a concert so his vocals are not quite as awesome as they are in other live videos. His range and stage presence is phenomenal! 'Your the voice' is a great song or any from Whispering Jack album but to really hear a song that shows his vocals, listen to 'When something is wrong with my baby' that he sings with Jimmy Barnes...another great Australian singer. :)
MsTruthseeker99 thanks for the info! I hope you subscribe as im going to do a lot of Australian music besides John. But i will do all of John's music for sure! :)
G'day Mate , the H is silent in his surname , you need to do his Live Proformances only when it comes to John , Help Live with the Melbourne sympathy orchestra is one of his best , John started his career in 1967 , he has had number 1 top hit songs in 5 decades running in Australia , John sung Help at the end of a 2 1/2 hour Concert infront of 70,000 + audiences and he has 3.2 Vocal Octave Range , the song Help is linked below , its a cover of the Beatles song rearrange to the way the song was intended to be but the Beatles had to do it in a Rock from the producers of the times. ruclips.net/video/dv54giOSRKs/видео.html

Greg thanks for that info. I hope you subscribe and enjoy me playing more of his music. Thank you for your support 😉😀👍🏻
Last Time he performed was just before Covid hit in 2020 ar a charity bash
He holds the record for the highest selling album ever by an Aussie Artist Whispering Jack 24x platinum.
Some songs to check out
*HELP, It's a Long Way to the Top, You're the Voice and Playing to Win, ...live with the Melbourne Symphony
Orchestra...
*Blow by Blow, Pressure Down and Age of Reason from EXPO 88 Concert.
*Chain Reaction, Loves in Need and See the Banners Fall from Chain Reaction concert
*Please Don't Ask Me duet with Olivia Newton John and Grenada duet with Anthony Warlow from The Main Event Concert..
GETHSEMANE from *Jesus Christ Superatar
*Angels duet with his backup singer Lisa Edwards.
*When the War is Over 2003 from the Last Time Concert
*When Something is Wrong with my Baby Duet with another Aussie Legend Jimmy Barnes.
Oh and he also does a great cover of Led Zeplins Black Dog as a sound check/warm up...so it's audio only
Seriously. This is just the tip of a huge iceburg.

Enjoy ! 😊
Hi Gail, thanks for the support! I love his one song I heard and look forward to playing 4-5 a week here! :)
Thanks for your support Gail, you will see a lot of his music and other Aussie talent on my channel very shortly 👍🏻🥰
I'm Sure! He's an Amazing talent!1
Liz I hope you come for the ride and subscribe to my channel. I will use all your suggestions for sure I will be doing a lot of John’s stuff 😉

I hope you subscribe and join me on the John Farnham journey through his music on my channel Kathleen 😀
Yep. He is so good that Queen wanted him to take over after Freddie Mercury. His family didnt wanr to leave Oz.. that's the anecdotal story anyway.
Ok Yes You did tell me, im going to be doing all his songs.. And maybe you can tell me some to try, like his biggest hits :)
@@BladeRunnermedia Please Dont ask me with Olivia Newton John is mesmerising. His best is Help imo, and his most engaging is duet When something is wrong with my baby with the other Aussie icon, Jimmy Barnes. That's yet another rabbit warren to explore
@@LizzieRD Im on John Farnham now :)

Peace Out.
Hi Steve, thanks for the input... I hope you subscribe as I am going to play a lot of his music going forward... I heard one song and I loved it! 😃

He didn’t want America ….instead the world came to him . He has sung with the likes of Celine Dion , Tom Jones and list goes on !
Check it out !
His Johnny era best known songs
Sadie ( The Cleaning Lady) 1967 Australian number 1
* One ( Harry Nelson , 3 Dog Night cover ) 1969 Australian number 4
* Raindrops ( Keep Falling On My Head ) BJ Thomas cover , Australian number 1
* Comic Conversation Australian number 10
* Don’t You Know It’s Magic Australian number 12
By the mid 70’s John married the love his life against his management and record companies wishes , they wanted Johnny to keep the eligible bachelor profile to sell records , once Johnny’s hits started to decline in the charts his record company dropped him in 1974 .
The Other Guy , American number 11 , 1983
We Two , American number 22 , 1983
Down On The Border , Australian number 7 in 1982
John’s signature LRB song Playing To Win 1984 didn’t chart in the top 50 but still remains a fan favourite.
Whispering Jack also featured the smash hit
* You’re The Voice also Australian number 1 and it was a top ten hit in most countries it charted in , but not USA . American band Heart covered it and made there version a minor hit in 1990 . Other hits from Whispering Jack * Pressure Down 1986 Aus number 3
* A Touch Of Paradise 1987 Aus number 15
In 1988 John was named Australian Of The Year for achieving a unthinkable for a local artist. Selling over million for one album . Whispering Jack is still 2nd highest selling album within Australia just behind Meat Loafs - Bat Out Hell .
But remain the highest selling album domestically by an Australian artist.
John latter adult, contemporary rock years .
John had many hit albums and songs
1988
Album , Age Of Reason Australian number 1
Songs - * Age Of Reason Australian number 1
* Two Strong Heats Australian number 4
Album Chain Reaction 1990
Australian number 1
Songs - * Chain Reaction Aus number 5
This song - That’s Freedom Aus number 5
* Burn For You Aus number 4
1991 John was asked by Jimmy Barnes another Australian music legend to joined him and record a cover of Sam & Dave - * When Something Is Wrong With My Baby Aus number 3 .
1992 John join the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar as Jesus . The song * Gethsemane from JCS
The late 90’s 2 more hit albums
A rumour surfaced in the mid 90’s that UK rock band Queen had asked John to join them after Freddie Mercury passed away earlier in the decade . Apparently Freddie Mercury was a massive fan .
Obviously John decline the offer .
90’s saw 2 more hit albums and a duet collaboration with Australian vocal group Human Nature with the soulful song * Every Time You Cry
John toured with Olivia Newton-John for the first time in 1998
2000’s
After releasing a soul album 33 1/3
In 2002 John decided to scale down and go into semi retirement after one just massive tour The Last Time .
WOW Great info right there! Thanks Mark. I hope you subscribe and join me and my channel on the Farnham journey through his music! :)
I love him after 1 song. hope you subscribe and enjoy with us all.. I will need help with his best songs :)
@@BladeRunnermedia you can't go wrong with any of his so g performances with the Melbourne symphony orchestra
He made it to the USA as the singer with Little River Band. He took over from the original singer, Glenn Shorrock, for a short while, but missed his family too much. His anthem song is "You're the Voice". Most Australians know him as "The Voice" - with good reason.
I’m definitely going to do that song. Thanks for your support 😉
John sang with LRB for a few years - over your way
Yes I didn’t know that until yesterday. Great input to my channel. I hope you subscribe and enjoy with me and my channel 😉😘
That’s why we love him
Yes I’m waiting on You’re the voice. I’m going to do that Friday or Saturday 😉
Bellas1717, thank you so much for your support. :)

Subscribed because you’re finding Farnsey. Love watching people overseas discover our legends.
Hey Ozzcaddy great input :) Hope you subscribe and enjoy the Farnham party thats about to go down on my channel :)
The great Farnsey. Next try 'You're the Voice' from this same concert.
Will be getting to that one.

Thanks donna I will. And thank you for your support :)
Thanks for your support Doc. I really appreciate you 👍🏻😀

He did at one stage be the lead singer of Little River Band touring the usa
Yes I didn’t know that till few days ago. Great info 😉

You need to dive in...this is a great performance but you need to know that this song is at the end of a concert so his vocals are not quite as awesome as they are in other live videos. His range and stage presence is phenomenal!
