    Hey Marty and to everyone that is trying to learn how to install a thermostat on a GM 3400 V6. I watched all available videos regarding this thermostat service and THIS ONES IS THE BEST!! GREAT JOB AND GREAT CAMARA WORK.

    You don't have to take the bottom bolt all the way out. That's why the thermostat housing is slotted on the bottom.

    Someone mixed up your top and bottom throttle body fasteners. The bolt goes on top and the bolt-stud goes on bottom. A nut threads onto that bolt-stud to hold the bracket that’s part of the metal coolant hose. The idea is that you snug the throttle body with the bolt and bolt-stud and then the bolt-stud gives you a place to attach the bracket while the head you used to snug the bolt-stud into the throttle body becomes a stand-off.
