I'm Madhab Deb Barma - husband of the speaker in this video. I wish to add few lines here. So many comments in RUclips on this video are related to Dr. Swarnalata Debbarma knowing and speaking in Kokborok. Its so surprising that even in Year 2018, Twipras are astonished that people of Dr. Swarnalata's calibre - living and working abroad - still can speak in Kokborok fluently. We, despite living abroad for close to 17 years, never realized and didn't know that some Twipras exist even in Year 2018, who pretend that they can't converse in their mother tongue. Reviewing the comments to this interview, we realized that we have been mistaken about many Twipras' attitude toward our own language, dress, culture, customs. We will continue to endeavor to help our people in some ways going forward and that includes, educating our people on various topics - education, health, jobs and various other socio-economic topics. We also hope that through these small noble actions, we will continue to contribute to the overall socio-economic development of our people back in Tripura.
