I just have to say to anyone thinking about trying these out, MAKE THEM, MAKE THEM, MAKE THEM!!! I am not a sweets kind of person, although I do appreciate them and I made these for Thanksgiving and I am making them again for Christmas! In my opinion, these are are bar none the most delicious cookies ever! (That was a cookie bar pun… Lol!) I am whole food plant-based, and my sister-in-law is gluten-free,my mother-in-law has health issues, and the list goes on....so these will be perfect! Everybody who has tried them just loves them! Thanks again for your amazing work and for always having the best recipes!.... I am afraid to be left alone in the house with these cookies until Christmas…

Very easy to make & absolutely delicious! Tip for getting out the first cut bar: after dividing into sections with a knife, insert the spatula from the CENTER/MIDDLE cut section(s) & lift upwards towards the edge with a spatula. Much easier & neater this way.

I've dreamed about making a vegan pecan pie. I'd thicken the filling with chia seeds and replace some of the dates with dried apricot for extra flavor. Thank you for inspiring us to cook plant-based Jill. Happy Thanksgiving!

With all these great recipes, I bet you could start up a great restaurant. It would be the toast of the town. Still say you would make a great PBS series. NutraBullet would make a great sponsor plus all the makers of the ingredients that you use and all the cookware. Super video.

20+ years in the testaurant biz as an owner. Not recommened at all. Think 60+ hours a week. If you are a small operation, you are then chief bottle washer, delivery person, bookkeeper, repair person HR etc. If you have a large operation you need to have investors lined up etc. Just a commentary abput the nature of the biz, not at all about your cooking or recipes, which I ❤ and totally recommend!!

@yoshiew05 so true ! I have been in the restaurant industry on and off for most of my life. People often tell me that I should cater or do meal delivery. My response is always "why would I do that, I love cooking". Are you a restaurant person or a family person? lol. I forget the exact number but I believe that something like 80 percent of restaurant managers end up divorced. My ex husband is a pastry chef.

Hi Jill! I have been following your Chanel for over a year now. I became plant based due to health issues and I am now feeling great. Thank you so much for your hard work and the love you put on your delicious recipes. Even my non-vegan family enjoy them! I have been wondering if you have ever created a recipe with ripe plantains. Those are ones of our favorite side foods since we are from Colombia. We used to have them fried, but now I just bake them. I would love to see how you create a cake or any other side dish with them. So sweet and tender!

Another wonderful recipe, just in time for Thanksgiving. Thank you! My daughter-in-law and I are the only ones of the family that like pecan pie, so this will be perfect for both of us! Side note: I notice you pronounce pecan two different ways; I have not heard anyone else do that before! I say puh-kaan, which you did, too. But you also said pee-kan, which is, apparently, the British pronunciation. I love linguistics, so that was fun for me. Happy holiday, and thanks again for this great channel! EDIT: per Pecan Sellers Assoc. 70% Northerners and 45% Southerners pronounce it PEE-can. Since I was born and raised in the West, anything is possible!

Could you perhaps get a pre-made vegan crust if you don't have time to do the crust yourself and just add the filling and bake that for 30 mins? Most pre-made crusts are round, so a shallow 9" round pie crust would work?

Hey Jill, I just discovered this recipe and looks so good as Im a Pecan fan!
Do you toast them first before adding on top and bake then?
In the video you use a 8x8 square Pan but in recipe I downloaded it is said 9x9...so both sizes are good?
    Please let me know..
    Henri 😉

    • @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow

The pecans are not toasted first and an 8x8 or 9x9 pan will work. The 8x8 pan bars will just be slightly thicker.
