this is the first review i have seen of someone actually riding the bike/knows how to ride. most all other reviews are slow trail riders complaining that their cross country race bike doesnt have soft enough suspension at 5 mph on bumpy dirt roads and its scary when they crack the throttle. thanks for content and review
Really appreciate your videos, you're an inspiration to me. I was in Moab and the Swell this spring and took on some new challenges. I amp'd up before the trip watching your videos among others. This particular video helped me make the decision to buy the new 250 xc. Hearing your review of the 300 convinced me that the suspension will work fine for the kind of riding I like. Thanks!
I have a 2023 tx300 and this one of the best reviews I have watched. A review on the Husky I have 12 hrs 👍. Lost 2 spokes on a race ( my fault) , the foot pegs are awesome but branches get caught in them , check light from hitting the starter while engine on. This is the best bike I have owned so fare. I did notice he runs 120 in the forks I did find 130 to light and 140 👍 I’m 180. Any body switch to a 13 counter
Very good review on the bike. I’m coming off a 21 TE300 and have purchased both a new TE and a new TX. I have yet to decide which to keep. This review was just what I wanted to hear on the rideabilty differences between the TPI and TBI. Someone with real world similar to my riding styles and areas experiences. Thank you!!!
Finally someone not scaring people away from this bike. There’s another page with tens of thousands of views that say “this bike is borderline dangerous on the trails” 😂. I’m on a 23 250xc and it flat out rips. It’s a blast in everything. I’m in Arizona and have been riding it all week in the wet slick Rocky single track and it’s been phenomenal. I wouldn’t go back to my 20’ or 22’ XC that had a TSP high comp head and tune. Our suspension tuner said “just ride the damn thing it’s and awesome bike”. I am also running mine down in the 120’s psi and it’s been just fine. Most of us in reality are so poor at riding it wouldn’t hardly make a difference. Ride the thing and have fun. It’s an awesome bike
@@davidsalinas5508 it was awesome. That’s the only way I would ride another TPI bike is if I had the Two stroke performance kit on it. I sold the bike before they came out with their injector relocation kit. I’ve heard amazing things about it and wish I could have had a chance to try it before I sold the bike, it sounds like that’s the way those bikes should be. I will say my tpi bike with the TSP lugged better than the new TBI. The TBI just flat out rips tho
@@josephflaherty3918 so i just put a get ecu and a high compression head on my tpi this weekend. Wow. The thing is a beast now. Still very smooth throttle but waaaay more pull with the mods. I love it
Absolutely spot on. The bad reviews come from a guy ready to sell you tons of suspension parts... Hey, rumor has it, that gal is still out there eating!
Wow!!! Excellent riding! It’s making me realize what an easy life my bike has had. This has definitely made me want to sell my tpi now. Keep up the great work!
This has been by far the most optimistic break down of the bikes suspension that I have yet to see/ hear. So as a mostly weekend warrior looking for a 2T and weighing in at 235(without gear) it sounds like the suspension would be just fine for me, even if I wanted to do some hair scrambles. Thank you for the video, great information.
Awesome video dude. You have some serious skillz and balls. Well done. And appreciate the thoughts on power delivery and suspension with a little humor as well. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Great review and awesome riding skills! Nice to hear on suspension being fine-which is most of what I'm hearing. Except for the 'grumpy' guy wanting to sell me parts!😂
Great review!! Did you notice the FI light flashing any codes at you? I have a new tx and it runs great but FI light is flashing codes. Did you notice this on yours?
Gnarly hill climbs guys ,great effort the camera never shows it like it really is,you are running your air fork at 120 psi can you tell me your bodyweight ? Thanks.
The terrain around 3:22 mark looks completely different from all the slick rock stuff, that place must be enormous. Really wanting to drive out there for a few days.
Thanks for the review. I just bought a 2022 TPI back in 2021. Its been a great bike but I'll probably upgrade to the TBI after a few years. Its awesome how KTM continues to develop these bikes. How would you compare a TBI to a tuned TPI with a high compression head and upgraded ECU? Are they similar or does the TBI still feel that much better? Thanks again
Let's not forget it's 80% rider, guys like Jarvis could rip any of that stuff on a stock bike with ease.. That said I also think it comes down to confidence and if the bike your on makes you feel more confident than you're going to be more successful. You are also one crazy brave SOB, those crashes of yours look gnarly!
Fantastic video and even better riding! What's your opinion on the TBI for those of us in super slick, slimy conditions? Controllable or too "on or off"? I should ask from an average rider perspective, I get the feeling you could make it work no problem.
I suck riding my 21 KTM 300XCW and the first impression on the start of your video was “F#$& That!” I’m with your friends, I’m nervous just watching. I just found your video and it gives me inspiration to get out and repeat sections that I fail at to get better. I find the bickering online cringe about this new bike that you have. It seems like all the videos I researched about my KTM 300 , most of the videos is upgrading before the bike is even ridden. Great video on a real World riding experience. I look forward to seeing more.
I'm about 195-200# geared up and I run 115psi. The bike corners in single track infinitely better with the lower psi. Bike is plush but still resistant bottoming out. All the air fork guys in my group are in the 110-125 psi range
Dope, that’s a great review. Which trails are your favorite in Moab? Heading there this weekend. My favs have been the rim, golden spike and poison spider. I
I like most of the stuff in Moab, except for Kane Creek and The Sovereign Trail (too boring). Most people will opt to take the easy lines, so almost any trail down there can have some great technical lines if you choose to take them. Going up Pritchett and Behind the Rocks, Cliffhanger, and Rusty Nail are some of my favorites.
Love the vid. We rode similar terrain and styles. I’ve really struggled with the bike so far but I’ve only put a couple hours on it. Handling is far far different to me than my previous model year xc and not in a good way so far. It feels extremely heavy in the front end. Hopefully it’s easy suspension tweaks and I can come to love it. Great vid. You know how to ride my friend!
The suspension looked as if it does it's job just fine. After the slavens review I was like man, should I really get one of the new ones? But, I've always thought he was kind of a grumpy old guy trying to sell parts. Hopefully picking up my 23 TX300 in the next week or so.
You’ll love it man. It rips. My experience has been these same as SOB. I’m coming off a 20’ and 22’xc. You’ll forget about the suspension difference after 5-10 hrs. Break it in and rip it. I keep up just the same with all the guys I ride with on rocky Arizona single track
Good vid, thanks! Just curious, 120 lbs in the forks. Did you back your clickers out as well? And you don't have to answer this, but how much do you weigh? Thanks!
Wow! I really enjoyed your video! I think that you finally convinced me to choose the 300 XC over the XC-W. I have been out of dirt bike riding for 30 years. Yes I’m old. Lol. But I still ride dirt bikes and have been a avid mountain biker for the past 12 years. I have some fellow mountain biker friends that are also into dirt bike riding. I’m being told that most of the trails here in Ohio are single track. I was worried that some of the tight technical trails would make riding the XC a little more difficult. From what you showed me, that the XC is very well suited for our type of riding.
whats your riding weight and clicker settings? I too find the suspension adequate, and fairly plush, even compared to my EXCF. For semi technical riding (less so than MOAB), my riding weight @ 200, my air forks @ 130, 9 out (from standard) compression, 1 out on high speed, shock @ comfort, was serving me well.
Hey man im getting a 2023 ktm 250xc, im really hyped! Im just really curious do you think itll have fairly good bottom end lugging and traction similar to the 300xc?
I like the cones the most, however I think the 6500 inserts are very very good and a lot more bang for the buck. I have tried some KYB conversions, but have the least amount experience with them of the three.

Wow. After watching this I realize now my 2023 250xc is going to have an easy life.
Hands down best non-biased review review by an experienced rider really putting the bike through proper technical terrain.
Is that Chapter 4 I hear playing in the background? That’s literally my favorite song ever! Miss the good old A7X

Nice riding and review! Some of those drops to flat just look painful though!
So were you annoyed that someone was eating while wheeling or were they sitting on the obstacle for 30 minutes
