Disagree about Gannon being a lazy sideline coach. Gannon is purposely trying to stay really even emotionally. He's talked about that. Gannon really didn't make any serious coaching errors and he managed the clock really well. He was definitely trying to win every game. Kliff was a mess on the sidelines and he made poor decisions all the time and couldn't manage the clock. You have to remember how badly injured the defense was. Also, Gannon rotates linemen all the time. That's what he did in Philly. That's what he wants to do here.

Thank you for your response, Thunder. Did it occur to you that Gannon wanted you to be able to make the excuses for him that you are making? Let me ask you a few questions: (1) how does any defensive-minded 1st year HC whose defense is predicated on having a fierce pass rush, agree to pass on a rare player like Will Anderson Jr.? No wonder why his defense had only 1 sack over the last 6 games, right? How does a defensive-minded head coach whom you believe was actually trying to win every game, continue to start liabilities like Marco Wilson (41.2) and Josh Woods (31.8) for 11 straight games? Why does he take the only bona fide MIKE ILB and move him to OLB, where he, as the best defensive talent at LB plays only half the snaps? Why does he take Dennis Gardeck, the team's best pass rusher off the field every time Gardeck makes a great play? Why didn't he have a concrete plan and faith in Isaiah Simmons the way he had with Kyler? Kyler was way more polarizing to the locker room than Isaiah. Can you look anyone in the eyes and say the 4 linebackers of OLB Gardeck, WILB Woods, SILB White and OLB Collins gave the defense a better chance to win than OLB Gardeck, WILB White, SILB Collins and OLB Simmons? You heard Brett Kollmann say the Cardinals have NO chance to beat the Rams this year because of the smallish ILBers Mac Wilson and Kyzir White. Why is that? Why wouldn't a defensive-minded HC make Budda Baker the face of the franchise? Was Kliff a mess on the sidelines when the team was 7-0 and the QB was dialed in? You know that Steve Keim gave Kliff no say in the coaching staff, some of whom were posturing with Keim for the HC job, right? You know that Steve Keim appointed Jeff Rodgers as game clock manager, right? Keim appointed Sean Kugler to call the running plays. The point is --- Kliff was never a HC. He never had the authority. When he wanted to hire a new DC, Bidwill and Keim said no. When he wanted to have Sean Kugler fired for insubordination, Bidwill and Keim said no. Keim was the one spreading the Cardinals' concerns about Kyler's immaturity to the media. So, do you have it straight as to who were the main sources and causes of the mess?

@@WBJMitch Because the entire DL was injured? Can we have this discussion after this season? This is clearly a 2-3 year rebuild. Monti stripped the team down to nothing last year. That was the least expensive and least talented defense in the NFL. The way Darius Robinson looked out of the gate I’m going to guess I’d rather have Paris AND Darius over Will. Time will tell. But I think Monti has emphasized keeping Kyler upright first, 2nd giving him targets and defense is coming later. In Philly, their rebuild started with offense and moved to defense. Gannon’s first defensive year there wasn’t great. I think Gannon and Co. will be better than Kliff and Keim. So that’s how I’m grading things to start.

Not sure why you're so adamant on hating on Gannon? We borderline had half of our starting defense come from the practice squad lol You can only scheme with what you have and they didn't have much at all.

Brett and I are very high on PJJ. But Brett made a good point that PJJ's switch to LT will require some patience.
