Barbershop Broke

  • The plaintiff says he and the defendant grew up in Memphis together, and the defendant was a high school basketball star. The plaintiff gave the defendant money to help him start his barber career, but he hasn’t paid him back, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant claims when he was in high school, his mother committed suicide, and he was the one who found her. The defendant turned to drugs and alcohol to ease the pain, and he still struggles with addiction to this day.

This touched my heart. I was the one who found my mom’s body right before she went into cardiac arrest and passed away. It was from complications with leukemia. She was barely breathing and had blood pouring from her mouth on the bathroom floor. That image in my head was and still is traumatizing. I was 21. I started smoking weed to cope probably the first 5 months after her death and I drank heavily for a year or two. I call myself blessed because I don’t have an addictive kind of personality in that way so I was able to cold turkey everything. But I just want to hug this man so badly.. it’s been 5 years and my life feels like it’s broken into two pieces. Before and After my mom died. Praying deep prayers for him💛

I hate how Judge Mathis speaks to everyone who goes through a struggle like their supposed to overcome it like he did, everyone is (clearly) not Judge Mathis and is not going to handle grief, tragedy or the hard life like he did.
Even him comparing the fact that his mother died from cancer to this man’s mother dying by suicide is disgusting and TWO DIFFERENT experiences! This man was doing GREAT, was on the right path - could have brought has mother tons of joy in the future if she hadn’t taken her own life and had to come home to seeing his mother gone without understanding (possibly) why. In comparison to Judge Mathis who was a DELINQUENT his ENTIRE life and DISRESPECTED his mother while she was here on earth, his mother (although still sad) died from sickness that many people also die from… he possibly had time to say his goodbyes.
It’s just not the same. God bless that young man, I hope he’s delivered from his pain and suffering in Jesus name.
