You know when I was young like 12-13 I asked my parents that if everything is written and predetermined how come a robber is held accountable for robbing they could not answer but Alhamdulillah I have had some great friends who explained to me how free will works and how qadr works in Islam and for that I am really thankful, Islam answers every single question u could ever have relating to faith and our scholars have already explained to us such questions We just have to search for it and learn from it. I hope Allah Increases me and you and our Imaan. Ameen.
This brother basically has tawakul (trust) in quantum mechanic mysteries, but doesn’t have tawakul in Allah swt when it comes to free will & pre-destiny. And as usually it goes back to the issue of lack of tawheed.

These kids leave Islam cause they think it restricts their life and that’s sad because Islam is doing them more good than harm, humans are selfish by nature they would rather go drink and commit adultery then die of a disease and end up losing both worlds this world and the hereafter, you have an expiration date on you life and everything has an end so make it count, you will stand in front of Allah one day and regret every sec you wasted chasing this life.
How I understand free will is the same as writing code or programming a game. We are all programmed to a certain degree, God created the code language and the programmer(the pen), God can always intervene and change the direction of the program or the structure of the code anywhere he wants, so overall God knows everything. By the way, I recommend anyone to learn to code, it will change how you think.
Studying philosophy in depth can be dangerous and is ultimately pointless. Wondering if you exist or not is like trying to imagine what God looks like. You'll drive yourself insane.

Instead of searching for the answers whilst still believing, they use that doubt to justify shedding the "limitations" Islam enforces in order to not feel the guilt associated with breaking Islamic law. It's much easier to drink alcohol and perform zina when there's no looming guilt...
Just like how a teacher can predict whether a student will do well or not, the Almighty can see far far far more intently, deeply and into the past present and future and determine where you will head

You guys missing the Important point, wihtin the Qur'an Salah & vasting is the best way to controll freewill, more calm cool with no second thought. Freewill is base on the brain capability to reason anything on our action, brain has two major purpose which is emotion and instinct, theese factor determine the entire DNA in our body to be enhanced and full fill the desire, meanwhile in islam there there is no words of freewill but may consider as "Nafs" meaybe in english called as "self accomplishment" or ego which is also contain opposite factor which is Good Ego and bad Ego. God knows if the entire Humanity is in bad or good freewill, he will send a savior or ultimate punishment through anomaly of Natural disaster, it also has historical record for it even in the last decade. Owh...one more thing, Global thought is real ;)
