Thanks PeanuterButterMan! I tried to follow your steps on this mower about a month ago, but was more worried about getting the yard job done instead of getting the mower running again. Glad to see it was something a little more involved! Thanks again!

I have a 12 year old Craftsman that is still running excellent. The only issue is when it is hot outside and I take a break from mowing, I have to let the engine cool down for an hour before I can start it. I can pull the cord countless times and it won't start until the cool down period is over. Any suggestions of what the issue might be? Someone suggested it is the coil, but the coil is in good shape. I did a good cleaning of it and the stator also, but still have the issue. It has been that way for a while. Otherwise the mower runs like a champ.

Have you tried restarting it (when it's hot) using starting fluid straight into the carburetor? If it runs then you may need to remove and clean carb.. ruclips.net/video/bUGiznCrwnY/видео.html
