Nice ride , my dad had a 57 farelaine with the 312 . It had a 4 bbl carb . It would smoke the back tires . I wish I still had his car to restore. He passed in 1981 . Miss him and that old Ford.
My first car was a 57 Fairlane with the 312 Thunderbird interceptor , 3 speed Ford o matic. I still miss that car , well except for the vacuum advance wipers. Your Y code is just spectacular.
thats got to be the nicest 57 FAIRLANE IVE SEEN ALSO GREAT TO SEE IT STILL HAS THE Y BLOCK AND THATS GOT TO BE THE HOTTEST SOUNDING Y IVE HEARD NICE TO SEE IT ALL FORD WISH I HAD THAT ENGINE IN MY 57 THUNDERBIRD WHAT CAMS IN IT
That car is like the one my parents had when I was about 2 or 3 to about 8....292 V8 and three on the tree....memories.....love to have one like in this vid.....sweet!!!
Beautiful car. Had a 57 Fairlane 500 as my third car. First car was a 1950 Ford 2 door sedan. 2nd was a 1956 Ford Main Liner ex Border Patrol car and 3rd was the 500 . Two tone beige and white. Was really into Fords then. Love your car.
I had the same exact car 6 year's ago,, except it was a six banger, same color combo, sat for 20 year's in a broken down garage, within 2 hour's had it running, paid 5-k beautiful interior and paint, all original, detailed it buff it out, looked new' sold it for 9.500 worth 25-k now! Times have changed,,
Had one of those in 1961 while in usaf. Thought my 272 or 292 (not sure of which I had ) was bullet proof. Never sounded like that though, and then he opened the hood!

My folks bought a 57 white wagon 312 Thunderbird motor after our 51 Merc got stolen and used in a bank robbery and in a high-speed chase and the engine ran hot and blew! , I really like the 57 Fairlane convertibles
It's the Marion Crane car! Same color and everything. I couldn't have that car where I live. It would break every noise and smoke ordinance just idling in the driveway. And you know those backward opening hoods used to decapitate people in the front seat, in a front end collision. Drive carefully.
Nice, my mom had one of these 57 Ford 500s it had a 292 with front over head cross exhaust pipe, with 3 speed manual transmission, it was 2 tone grey, charcoal grey, but the engine went to heck so my mom got rid of it, now that im older i shoulda stopped her from gettn rid of it, 😭😭😭😭😭
Although I always loved Fords I don,t think the Y block was there best engine by far . Ford should have sent their spies over to chevrolet to see what was going on with the SBC.
@@Rick-S-6063 - I know you are right, but I can't see the distributor in the picture. My comment was from 4 years ago, so I now recognize some of the Y Block trademarks. I'm fascinated by Y-Blocks. Although they were slow, there's just something sexy about them
That air cleaner was very typical on high-performance Ford engines of the 1960s, particularly on FE block muscle. I was not aware of any dual quad Y-Blocks either. It seems it was commonplace to remove Y-Block engines with FE's. That's why I thought this might have been an FE. But alas... I think Y-blocks were painted red. I don't think any FE's were

Gorgeous color combination! Excellent restoration. Thanks for not mutilating it and keeping it all Ford!
One of my Dad's favorites. He is 78 and owned 9 different ones.

Absolutely stunning. I like everything about the car 👍🏼
This is the engine they should have used in the movie Thunder Road instead of the 223 6 cylinder.

That is sweet

Is this bad machine an automatic or manual trans? I'd like to see more of it.
Is there a video of this animal being driven looking out or being driven as a drive by ?
I WISHD ID HAD 2 1957 FORDS 1 RED AND 1 YELLOW
Why do all these 57 Ford engines sound like machine gun fights?
Sounds awesome & tough but the hubcaps make it look lame
Clean!
Why did some(57s) have the huge bumper and others the small?
Yep
Is the car for sale..... please contact
can anybody tell me why they have two different body styles for 57 the straight curve is this one showing and the fin that curves in..
I had one the same color but it was a 4 door
It has to be a 312 Y block and does not sound like any of the 292's I ever ran in my 55 Ford.
Badass! All the guys over at the forum on 57fordsforever.com want to know what cam you got in that sleeper beast...do tell! Bitchen car.
had the cam ground special lots of duration on the exhaust and 107 lobe separation
What brand of mufflers do you have on this car ?
Thrush. They are a copy of Flowmaster .
I'm trying to find a 57 Ford 300 four door that I can restore.
Although I always loved Fords I don,t think the Y block was there best engine by far . Ford should have sent their spies over to chevrolet to see what was going on with the SBC.
The 272 was the small block V8, it hadpower and great MPGs too, over 20
THATS GOTTA BE THE BADEST ASS Y BLOCK I'VE EVER HEARD OR SEEN....
Is that an FE block in that car? Doesn't like like a Y Block

@@Stucifer The 312 in the Thunderbird had a dual quad option. I believe the option code was E. They are known as E Birds.
If the donet this cars content me please, save the vintage's car please
No info on the engine? Why not,
Cherry bombs would make it sound 100% better.
