Fred a big big thank you I will let you know how I goon with the new version of the 6900 . Many thanks Andy.
Well done Andy. We have had a couple of new people on our 305 group come back on air after a 30 year break. I hope you get set up ok and get some great contacts.
Hi Fred.. I am a radio ham (G4RYO) and I really DON'T get annoyed at the CB fraternity.. Back in the day I used to get great pleasure listening to all the local crowd exchanging their trials and tribulation on the AM CB band. It really is nice to see a sort of rebirth of this excellent hobby/interest.. Keep up the good work.. 73, Pete
Thanks for a great video! As a long-term die-hard CBer I'm finally coming around to the fact that, as much as I cherish and love my old rigs, the only viable move (at least up here in the Scottish Highlands) is to migrate from FM to SSB. So, this weekend, my trusty old Rotel RVC240 will be pulled from my campervan and replaced by a CRT S6900N, a decision very much inspired by your instructional videos. Please keep up the good work in encouraging users back to the hobby.
Cool! I was worried I hadn’t checked swr. I soldered up my coax I got a contact and didn’t see warning. But was still worried. Didn’t realise it had warnings Thanks for putting out this vid.

On this radio do you set the swr with the full power turned up? I can get a low swr on fm but this increases when I turn up the output power on this radio.
It means your radio is receiving too higher a voltage from your power supply or car electrics. If you are using a power supply check it on a meter. It should not be higher than 13.8 volts max. If your using in the car there is not a lot you can fo.
Not 100% on this. Normally the SWR / TOT switch turns the display from SWR displayed in bars or the Talk out Timer displayed in digits. Could you have been seeing that ?

Funny you ask that because ive been running tests all week on loft antennas. Ive got 2 videos and the first will be up at the weekend. The short answer is that a loft antenna will work but will never be able to match one on a pole outside due to too much noise. Best antenna is hard to say. Quite simple. You just need to reprogramme the radio via the internal USB connector.

Fred can you help me please. I have a 6900n and trying to reprogram it. I have watch a video about it but i do not get the same information given when holding down the Function and EMG buttons. The person on the video says i should get Band 1 and able to switch to Band 2. What I do get is 268nd (the bottom part of the 8 is missing so looks like an A. Can you help
Sorry Alan ive never reprogrammed mine
How do you take off the channel lock , I can't get mine off channel 9
I think its the far right button on the bottom row. Might have to press Func first.
Is this a good rig fo a beginner please
Hi. Yes totally. Its one of the easiest SSB radios to use.
could i use sideband with a loft antenna and which is the best loft antenna
Funny you ask that because ive been running tests all week on loft antennas. Ive got 2 videos and the first will be up at the weekend. The short answer is that a loft antenna will work but will never be able to match one on a pole outside due to too much noise. Best antenna is hard to say. A small outside antenna worth looking at is a boomerang antenna which is around £30-40
@@CB-RADIO-UK thanks for the reply , i will look forward to the videos

Hi. No sorry i dont know of any rig doctors taking on work.
i was wandering is your superstar 6900 n a 10 mtr radio ?
Yes it was orig programmed that way.
Why would "5 HI" only show when in SSB mode?
If its showing in SSB it should show in FM as the radio has more power.
Hi mate, does the Anytone At-6666 / Superstar 9900 have this SWR safety feature?
Hi yes it does

Hi Stephen. Rig doctors are like hens teeth this days. I know one local to me but would not have a clue around your QTH. Best place to find out would be an radio chat forums etc. Best of luck.
Do you know the "LoCt" message ? in display ?
No sorry thats a new one ive not seen before.
What the hell is conginuity ?
Because it is a 10 metre radio
Depends to which freq's the radio has been programmed. The 6900 covers both 10 and 11 meters.
