Shemar Moore And His Mother Marilyn Moore Is Honored At The National Multiple Sclerosis Society

- Shemar Moore, best known for his role as “FBI Special Agent Derek Morgan” on the hit CBS show, Criminal Minds, was honored at the 40th annual Dinner of Champions, sponsored by and benefiting the National MS Society in Southern California. The gala event took place on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The event raises funds that support the National MS Society’s vital programs and services to improve the quality of life for people living with MS, as well as cutting-edge research worldwide for better treatments and a cure.
Moore has been a major supporter and contributor to the National MS Society for ten years through the annual Bike MS: Coastal Challenge cycling event in honor of his mother, Marilyn, who lives with MS and will also be honored with this year’s Dorothy Corwin “Spirit of Life” Award. Moore commented, “When something hits you close to home, you’ll do whatever you can to help give that person a better quality of life.” In addition to fundraising with his Criminal Minds’ teammates, Moore also brought his apparel company, Baby Girl, on board as a corporate sponsor for Bike MS, donating a portion of sales to the National MS Society. “Baby Girl gear is a fun, silly, and sexy way to support the fight for a cure for MS,” said Moore. “Originally started to support my mother, it has now turned into a global movement.” Moore’s continued efforts to bring awareness and raise funds will be a welcome addition to the Los Angeles Dinner of Champions, which has raised nearly $50 million for people with MS since 1993.

She passed away in early 2020, so sad to hear that... This video just happened to pop up. She was a pretty lady, even in her youth. Says she was French Canadian or something, but she almost looked Black Creole or something. RIP

Shemar Moore I think you're beautiful I used to watch you sometimes on Young and the Restless with my mom my mom passed away about 3 years ago of cancer and it's been hard being without her I feel your pain you love your mom decide how I love my mom I will always love and cherish my mother's memory does so beautiful seeing you there so happy with your mom and her being happy beside you you enjoy what she is still doing you you feel like it's because of her that you are with you are today that's a beautiful thing may God continue to bless you may you keep looking higher and higher because that's what your mom would have wanted you to do and my mother absolutely loved you she would often talked about how fine you were stay blessed and stay successful

Never knew his mother had MS. I too suffer from this crazy disease and I know the struggle but I see she was very positive and encouraging and that's what matters. I love their relationship. It's so beautiful to see a son loving and supporting his mother. She was a beautiful person. May she rest in paradise!😇🙏

I know just how he feels because I lost my mom on April 4 ,2019 I have been so deeply depressed and in so much pain but let me tell you as each day go by it will get better. Even though we no their in Gods hands it don’t stop our pain because your mom is your everything. But I pray about my pain and God is helping me deal with the pain. I will be praying for you.
