I had the shiny styles flat iron. I had super frizzy coarse hair and I wanted it straight but kh mom wouldnt let me get any hair tools for some strange reason so she got me this instead. It was the worst. It took 20 minutes to heat up and barely did anything. Finally in 8th grade I got a flat iron for christmas and my life changed forever.
The hair braider tool doesn’t actually braid hair. It just twists it around a bunch, but not in the correct pattern to make a braid. I remember watching that commercial as a kid and getting frustrated about that lol.
Visceral memory of the process of picking and changing a Barbie's clothes, the scratchy velcro guiding tiny plastic fingers through polyester sleeves, while mindlessly singing the Quick Wrap From Conair jingle over and over and over
The only one i ever bought out of all of these was the twist a braid. I was probably 13. Quickly learned that it was a piece of junk. A good way to create a rats nest in your hair.
conair still sells that crimper to this day. and holy shoot - i totally remember seeing that hairagami commercial as a kid on nickelodeon in the mid 2000s! i dint know that it was a syndicated commercial from 1999 back then, wow!
I remember I wanted that braiding machine so badly when I was little because I couldn't braid my own hair, but I didn't have the hair texture for it. In hindsight, it was for the best. It probably would have tangled it into a mess.
I had the twist a braid, the shiny styles and the quick wrap. We could never figure out the quick wrap lol, the braider sort of worked and the shiny styles made me want Mary Kate and Ashley waves 🤣
18 yrs or older*** because you had to be an adult to BUY it.. Lol. They didn't want kids calling and just using their parents card, otherwise there probably would've been a lot of pissed off parents LOL.
Conair was the pinnacle of unnecessary hair tools
Lol I went to middle school with the granddaughters of the founder of Conair, they literally never used a single one of these tools lol
And I had all of them 😂 they never worked.

It looks a bit like a rope braid, but not sure because that thing moves so fast, I can't really figure out what it's doing.

Holy shit I remember all of these, used to watch them late at night on Nick in between shows.

Omg my brother and I would go crazy for the Quick Wrap commercial as kids. We'd always sing along and pretend we were in a band
Haha, that's understandable, it's such a rockin' commercial!
POV: You’re finally unpacking a bunch of boxes 20 years after you put them in storage and just found your entire Hairagami collection 😂
Time to dust them off and see how many compliments you can get by recreating some of those styles?
I used them for my dance classes!
Did anyone else else try to mimic the effects of the hairigami with a snap-bracelet? (It did not work 😂)
Hah, the commercials reminded me a lot of snap bracelets, which quickly got banned from my school.
I still have that twisty one somewhere.. I thought I was so cool 😂😂
I hope these products are still available!
I have trauma from the quick braid tool. Just spun my hair into a fat knot

I found a hairagami in the dollar store, it worked until my hair got too long 🥺
Twist a Braid looks like it would easily get tangled and rip your hair out
I love the hair jewelry
All the models in the before 😂
No tears szampo ❤
Fancy curling iron
I had the hair style the crimper was the best 💟
Did *you* or your friends ever try any of these products?

@@hope-cat4894 I can't imagine how many people had to cut that thing out of their hair after it twisted a little too fast and got stuck.
I still have (and occasionally use) my part pizazz!)
@@hope-cat4894 i remember my mom telling me that "it wasn't for black hair" and guess what? she was right!
