S1 & S2 Discos are everywhere where I live down in Gippsland. Completely blows the theory out that Aussies are only interested in LandCruisers. Good luck with your car.

I have a few plans for it before I move it on 👍 it's not going anywhere for a while!

I went to buy this the evening before you did! Weirdly the guy selling it was extremely inflexible on price and wouldn't drop below close to double what you paid!
The cracked gearbox and electrical issues were enough for me to walk away, though I would have taken it at the price you paid! Look forward to seeing how it turns out!

How strange! I didn't know him but did let him know it was me who built it when I was there. I've not looked in to the electrical issues yet but those immobilisers can be a pain 😂

@@Final_Drive I've subbed so I can keep up to date! :) happy it went back to you, it seemed like it had good bones. No rot as you said!
Out of interest, what spec are the wheels/ tyres and lift? It looked pretty meaty in person. Video doesn't do it justice

@@halmiller the tyres are 33 x 12.5 but I'll have to do some digging to remind myself what the offset of the wheels are. It's too much of a offset really as they don't tuck under the arches under full articulation so I had to modify the body quite a bit to stop them catching everything. It's a 4 inch lift being a combination of 2" springs and 2" blocks. That also has issues with front prop clearance / trailing arm and steering caster angle and needing to crank the rear watts linkage. Nightmare 😂

Just found your channel and subbed. Great to see you save that! looking forward to seeing what you do with it next. I'm not a mechanic either, but bought one of these (offroad modified like yours) and plenty to do, just do it in my spare time, kinda fun so far.... I also have to swap out one propshaft, is there an art to that? I am watching various youtube videos on it. Has to go on a certain way, greasing it and the torque setting for the bolts etc.

Hello mate! Welcome! They're great to tinker with and learn on aren't they! No art to the prop shafts, they do have to go the correct way round and check the UJs are moving freely before you fit it as now would be the time to change them if not! The torque settings and diagrams are readily available online 👍
