Just a quick question. How come you put the cable from the winch over the top of the arch instead of reeving the cable normally in the top wind position to help keep the front end on the ground?
Yeah seems a bit odd to me as well on some of them. More so this video as long as they had a medium sized excavator they could have gotten that out on their own, I would think. Some I can understand for if they don't have the time to deal with it or insurance reasons.
I agree, some ply and 4x10's would be cheaper than hauling out that monster. My old man threw a track on a track hoe in a hole and got the machine out using only one track. Bad operator and or owner.
He may not have been that stuck, but, how deep is the hole on the far side of the excavator? Perhaps he was smart enough to quit before the machine dropped in a hole that could be very deep! Just sayin' this isn't some stump hole in yer grandpa's back forty!
John Bango - "Bad operator and or owner"......he says confidently, based on absolutely no information whatsoever about the ground under and behind the machine. But his old man can beat up your old man, so there!
Photozetetic Your right, I do not know all the conditions. I do see a machine not buried up to the cab in muck. I do see it is operational. I do see that he did not try to decrease the slope out of the hole. I also see a lot of great gravel within bucket range. I see that the operator could have and should have tried many options that were available to him.
dont want you to lose any work but I cant beleave some of these outfits call you (or anyother recovery co. for that matter) to come out and winch them out. Do these people not know how to use the tools that they elready have ?. in a lot of your vids it seems like i see plenty of iron to do the job without you. That being said, a job is a job and i'm sure you make good bank on most of then so keep it up
Awesome machinery and operators! Great taste in music, too!
That's a lot of force applied!! Nothing like an old d9g
hats off to all of you, i dont see how you all know where your going, i couldnt see out the cab! lol nice video btw
them old CATs still going stong !

I'd love 2 have that cat she's a beast
ive never seen anything pull as hard as a d9. second place goes to a 600 caseih quad track
I would put the blade on in the event you need to use it plus if your just spinning you can have the blade help you push as well
not much stops an old d9 if it wants to move watever its attached to moves aswell

I drank lots of beer in abbotsford once

He wasn't even stuck!

I think that the blade would indeed come in handy but would be a pain in the ass to transport.

Why don't you have a blade on the front of the D9? Wouldn't that come in handy?
what would u charges for a job like that, if u dont mind me asking
Nice.....
this I don't understand anyway it's an excavator it really shouldn't need help getting out
Why does the D9G Winch Cat have that bar across the front where the blade would go? I know, stupid question but why?
that is where the blade attach they just leave it off to making moving easier as it would be too wide and a little less weight too.
That's the "C" frame
NICE LOWBED LOL
Would have liked to hear the machines more and less cheezy music, just saying bro
They just wanted to make a video thumbs down
Pleeeeease lose the crap music.
Yes, just the sounds of the diesels...
Photozetetic I like the music so please leave Al alone
Music sucks
