I’m thankful that I didn’t know about this last night or I would have worried extra about you. I’m thankful for all of the kind people whom you met along the way. Mom-sized shoutouts to Shaun, the Idado state trooper, Casey and his beautiful dog, and those cool teenage boys ❤️ As always, I am super proud of you
Happy Mother’s Day, Cameron’s mom!
@@roger3958 Thank you 🌺
Happy mothers day camerons mom!
@@unknown.z34_33 thank you!
It was a honor to meet you Cameron, hope all is going well with the car, first time I’ve ever been told I sound like that dude in blue lol
Hey dude! Best tow truck driver who’s ever lived. Frickin legend. Thank you for the help!
Casey, thank you for taking care of Cameron! As his mom, I really appreciate your kindness. We’d love to reciprocate if you ever make it back to Caribou.
Dude Cam!! Sorry to see all the problems you have had!! I am a glad I got to meet you and hang out!! You are just as amazing and genuine person in real life as you are on camera! That meant the world to me to get to hang out!! I am one fortunate dude to have awesome friends like you! Hopefully in the future we ca get together again! If ya need anything message me anytime!! God bless ya brother!
Thank you so much, Shaun. It was a pleasure finally meeting you!
Anytime !! Thanks brother!! Keep in touch!
Shaun, thank you for looking out for Cam!
You’re welcome!! He is one great guy!! I feel fortunate to have crossed paths!!
Scotty Kilmer: "Look at this guy with that 96 Mustang Cobra. Those are endless money pits. He would have been better off with a 96 Toyota Celica with freezing cold air conditioner"
I wouldnt be upset if I got recognized by Scotty
@@Camhill182 same xD
I actually owned a 99 Celica with a Yamaha motor in it and it was the worse car i've owned. Endless money pit😑
One heck of a day, got a cobra stang, broke, trooper came to the rescue, met some new subscribers, and tow truck guy knows someone in your home town. Godspeed and remember the little things in life.
No wonder Doug hasn’t driven it this year
Yup, I would have requested at least a 30min spirited test drive in that scenario to shake loose all the gremlins and deduct it from the sale price. Live and learn.
I have the exact same car, I think you tried to force it in reverse somehow.. You are shifting way too early by the way!!..The car's torque is at the top end of the rev line.🤦♂️
My dad once told me everything in life is temporary, the good and the bad. Keep your head up man god will only put an obstacle in front of you if he knows you can get over/past it. 👍🏽💪🏽
Damn my heart actually dropped watching that. The whole situation felt so tough to watch. Good this there was lots of good people around !
Years ago, I was trying to leave my in laws house early to beat a snow storm from north Carolina to upstate new york, but my wife wanted me to stay an extra half day. I stayed and ended up in west Virginia, getting pinned in the cement barrier from a dump truck who fish tailed into my lane. I only had my Jeep Patriot for like 6 months and now the car is disabled with major front and side damage. Every taxi, car rental and non essential business was shut down from the storm.
Watching this video of you dealing with your mustang, is the same exact way I felt that day. Stranded with so many "what ifs" and just a mix of emotions. In the end, it'll all work out, one way or another.
Keep being genuine and keep up the good work.
I just had this exact thing happen, flew down to Florida for a clean 97 Cobra. It broke down 30 minutes north of Atlanta on my way back to Kentucky. Haven tore into it yet but I’m pretty sure it’s related to the timing chain.
Man that sux, but there is a reason they’re called a “project car “ . It always nice to see that there are still good people in world willing to help a guy out. Shaun was very gracious in picking you up at at the airport. I’ll must admit I did cringe a little when you set your drink cup on his Type R. I hope everything works out for you and I’ll be along for the ride.
Dude I am so sorry to hear about the issues you’re having with the car. I know it puts a damper on your spirits, but you’ll get through it. You’re a positive dude and you’ve got great things coming for you!
One of the most genuine dudes on RUclips. Minor setback my friend. You’re out here doing things, bound to run into some issues. Great car, though. You’ll get it going. I admire the hustle!
It’ll work out my guy, it’s a sign from the content gods
Oh man, that sucks … I got my 1997 Cobra at 70k, put about 5k on her within 2 years of ownership and the first thing to give me problems was my ignition cylinder snapped but I completely sympathize with that feeling you experienced like WTF. I’m so sorry to see this happen man.
This is unrelated to your video but Thursday during traffic I was caught in a chain accident, a silver Ford Escape was speeding and distracted severely rear-ended my Civic Sport Touring Hatchback.
I was mainly worried for my grandmother since I took her out to buy her plants. Luckily she's okay just some minor pain in the chest region from the seat-belt. I'm currently experiencing back pain from the force from the rear collision.
Even though I'm very saddened that my baby is gone, I'm just glad that I and my grandmother walked out alive. Insurance was already contacted, have to go to the towing company to grab my belongings and say goodbye to the Civic, then search for another car. Until then my Honda dealer heard of the situation and gave me a Passport the next day until I get another car.
I am truly greatful for having such a loving family, relatives, friend, and the Honda dealer for caring.
Hey man, so sorry to see this happen to you. I could see the tears in your eyes talking to the kids at the gas station, I wanted to cry for you! Here's to hoping it all turns out okay, she is absolutely beautiful. Love you and your content Cam, stay positive!!!!!
Every car goes through an arc to a story and this is how the “cobra arc” starts off.
Im sorry that it started out like this but sometimes we gotta struggle a bit to come out on top , the content is gonna be amazing once its back up and running . Good luck with everything !
The Borg-Warner T45 is glass in these cars. I owned a 96 Cobra awhile back. The synchros also went out on me immediately after buying it used at 96k miles and it started grinding. The engine in my experience was great and bulletproof while I owned it. My favorite mods at the time were 4:10 gears, MGW shifter, Vogtland lowering springs, and any aftermarket exhaust to amplify the sick engine sound. X-pipe or h-pipe both sounded sweet. Had multiple exhaust setups because why not. Any questions you have hit me up Cam.
You're lucky to breakdown in a State other than California. Those interactions with the locals was great.
You might ignore this comment as it is just one extra comment....
but man... I started following your vids because of the 10th gen Si which is what I currently own.
But now I'm following you with your adventures from buying a Type R to being stranded in the middle of nowhere. From your prespective it might suck because things didnt work out as smoothly as you wanted with the Cobra... but viewing the journey and how not everything is perfect as many make it seem, makes u different from many other youtubers.
Sorry if english is not perfect.
Greetings from Mexico brother and hope you make this channel blow up A LA VERGA!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Wow, thank you so much! Your English is great. Thank you for still watching!
Blessing in disguise. This set back means more content. This video was 🔥 as are you man. Cobra will be too and can’t wait
Thank you so much for the positivity
The nostalgia of seeing an sn95 interior. Thanks for the content, Cam! Also the tremec of this time were very quirky. My reverse would work by having to go into a forward gear from a stop to then sticking it into reverse.
Cameron, this Cobra is gorgeous!! Sorry you had to go through all the trouble, but I’m sure it’s going to make your RUclips channel grow a lot bigger! 🙌🏼
I hope so, but its not looking too good so far. Not getting a lot of views
@@Camhill182 be patient my friend. It’ll all work out.
Nice, you went with the 96 -98 Cobra. I'm glad you listened to me . I recently hadFlowmaster. 👍 Intake, x pipe, Flowmaster, 410 gears, and you're set. These sound amazing with xpipe and Flowmasters. The shifter is super easy to replace and adjust .
Life’s to short to worry about simple things , enjoy and live life at its fullest 😎😎😎. This is a start of new and amazing journey Cameron , like the jams in this video too aha 😅. Hope all goes with well with the car 🚗.
I’m so sad you don’t have this car any more! These have great potential with gears! Really sick car.
I gotta say that whole meeting someone out in nowhere land that knew someone you knew is a great story. I've always thought those kind of things happening was kind of both strange and special. Hope you get past the breakdown soon. God bless man.
Lol you and I are on similar cycles over here Cameron... I bought a Type R only a few weeks before you bought a type R, and I just bought another car as my daily driver / project car on Thursday. It just so happens to ALSO be a 1997 car in RED, however it's a honda prelude rather than a V8 Mustang :P
Nice! Enjoy that Prelude
Super clean Cobra man! Sucks that it broke down, but on the bright side it’s more content right lol. Can’t wait for the next update and the road trip home.
Sorry about the stang man. I've had luck like this before. Once it is fixed you'll feel like a new man with an even better cobra. Goodluck getting it fixed.
Sell it as soon as possible.
Dude, my heart was breaking the whole time but honestly you handled it so well. Being in an unfamiliar place in an unfamiliar vehicle and having this happen is nightmare anxiety circumstances for me. I am so happy and proud for you that you kept your head on straight and are dealing with all of this.
P.s. as soon as you wiggled that shifter around trying to find first and whatnot, I knew it would be tranny issues. It could just be the perspective but it looked so sloppy and vague. I think the shifter fork diagnosis could be it
I'm angry and disappointed. I hope the problem gets fixed. Much love my brother. Love you man.
Your subs are amazing ! And the new ride is cool as well. Old, original, but still rocking.
Well, It’s not always a happy ending but honestly you just made your channel more exciting to watch with that Mustang 🐍 !
Could tell you were pissed, but you didn’t lose your cool. Hopefully you’ll get home soon, Mustang included.
Sorry to hear that bro especially 45 minutes after taking ownership. You’ll be up running in no time. Keep ur spirits up. Clean cobra 🐍💯🔥👍🏾
Dam bummer bro! I saw in ur eyes u wanted to cry! It will all work out...so far u met positive people and they changed ur face for the better. Let's think positive and see what happens moving forward.
Happy for you and congrats on the purchase ! Hope the repairs don’t cost you too much .
Thank you for vlogging a day in the life of a Ford owner!🔥
*Slowly retreats into his flame retardant suite while making heavy eye contact.*
All kidding aside, I love all cars regardless of the brand or reputation. The heart wants what the heart wants. I feel for you, but you'll get it sorted. And this hiccup will just be one small part of it's overall journey with you. (Hopefully a positive journey)
Good luck and can't wait to see this build progress.
Cameron that is a SUPER clean Cobra, at the end of the day this stuff happens to older cars but it will be worth it once you get it sorted 🙌🏼
Bro, despite all the shit that just happened….
THANK YOU for the awesome content
You’re very welcome
Damn bro. Thats tough that it broke down on you. But with every bad comes a good and thats how it evens out. Rebellions are built on hope. I wish a quick and cheap fix and a safe drive home Cam. I know it sucks and you must feel bad, but must keep your head high man. I can see in your eyes how hurt you were by this happening. Dont worry bro hopefully everything works out. Youre an OG for going through with this and handling it like a champ!
Ford - found on road dead.... too soon? All jokes aside hope you can get it fixed without to much of an issue. Can’t wait for the content that’s gonna be made with this new purchase (just finished the video and seen you make the joke 😕)
As a ford mechanic I'd like to tell you, you need to change your clutch cable because they stretch out and try a cable adjuster
Steeda has a great kit for this reason.
I feel your pain. Had my 2014 Wrx die on in the middle of the road last month and wouldn’t even crank. Had to have a state trooper push me down the road and into a parking lot. Luckily it didn’t seem to scratch the car much at all. Got it towed to a local Subaru shop where I live and the engine is completely seized. They couldn’t even hand crank it. No idea what happened. Had a sound the started coming and going similar to rod knock and I was limping home for only 10 mins before it died. Long story short I’m waiting to have the engine pulled to see what the hell went wrong so fast. Best of luck with the Cobra. It’s a beautiful car. I can’t wait to see what you do with it!
My man Cameron I haven’t watched the last few vids but man you finally got the mustang!! But damn transmission gave out sorry that happened to you man can’t wait to see it back on the road!
Thank you for watching 😊
Sorry brother! It's a totally beautiful Cobra man. I subscribed to your channel just now. I hope this issue is not too expensive or anything that may take too long. Bummer, I've been there several times man when my car takes a dive in the middle of nowhere. As you now know, it can be stressful. Good luck!
Thanks, Paul!
I think the horizontal ones came with the 5.0 v8 the guy who pick you up and helped you out is one cool guy for sure he has a nice looking CTR and not a big fan of a Ford but that’s one clean cobra and the paint is really nice too
That sucks man!! Hopefully the repairs aren't too expensive and it doesn't take long. That would suck to be stranded far from home. Hoping for the best Cam
Thank you Brett
Beautiful looking Cobra , very unfortunate that it broke so soon. Hope it gets fixed soon. Enjoyed the video !!
Hey dude sorry to see that, i have a 94 camaro z28 that was my daily until i got my current si (i still have the camaro) and that thing breaks almost every time i drive it and its extremely aggravating so i feel for you. Hoping everything can go smooth 🙏🏻
Hey Cameron, just wanted to say that I don't even own a Civic or a Ford but I've been watching your videos for a while now as they're so entertaining. I hope everything turns out well for you and the Cobra. Keep up the content bro!
Thank you Ken
Watching this felt like a whole tv show. What an emotional roller coaster. Now I can't wait for the sequel. I hope it's not a costly fix though. You'll be alright.
Bro. Can’t wait to see how this turns out. Something like this happens and you meet amazing people and get great content. Sorry this happened to you, man....but cars are all about the memories.
The fact you have a lot of Honda fans subbed, introduce a Ford you bought with 44k miles and it immediately breaks down haha. It’s very ironic. Hope you get everything figured out.
dang dude. its tough getting car issues right after buying.. very stressful situation. I bought a v6 new edge stang with the 5 speed a few months ago. turned out there was damage to the frame from an accident that was off the record but I luckily had a connection to a body work guy and got it fixed up for a couple hundred bucks.
it's all part of the journey brother, we're here for you if you need anything!
Thanks Jose
FORD = Fixing or Repairing Daily LOL jk! I hope you get it all taken care of man. The car is super clean congrats. Stay positive
Nah, you're actually right. I learned my lesson years ago.
The mustangs are the only thing reliable from Ford but you basically better off buying them brand new off dealership lot
Man Cam that is one clean mustang cobra, hopefully it’s a simple and inexpensive repair. What a dramatic start for the cobra, it’s going to be a monster for the channel. Look forward to all the mods, “simulations”, and some rear wheel fun (donuts/burnouts). Take it easy n be safe!
Freakin’ a man! I hope you realize that this is a bad experience but it’s also a life experience and you made the best of it! You got this Cam!
The car is beautiful and that color mmmm, sorry this happened to u but it will all work out in the end. I've never owned a v8 or rear wheel drive car but if I did it would be this generation of the mustang. Keep up the good work.
I was about to say, look on the bright side Cam, ya got some new subs, met people you never would’ve, and the Cobra still looks minty AF! Lol hope all goes well, gotta catch up on a few vids now lol
Taking a risk is a chance on private sales, but due to the mileage who wouldn’t take a chance ...sucks that it happened but we support your channel and I know you are for the people that support you...your attitude changed when some of the kids started talking to you . Best of luck
DUDE WHAT A SNAKE, HE DIDNT WANNA BE ON CAMERA CUZ HE KNOWS HE IS ABOUT TO SELL YOU A CAR WITH A F'D UP TRANSMISSION WOW THE NERVE
He definitely knows something!
@@Nino-bu9mj yup, you can tell from his voice and attitude
@@marcelk7962 the man already new, and appearing on camera can be used against him 😅 the guy knows what he was selling a beat up transmission
That’s too bad it had to break randomly like that.. hopefully it’s a simple easy fix and the whole trans isn’t broken. Good luck Cameron!
Thanks my man
I'm so sorry this happened. I literally messaged for this exact car and it was sale pending. I had worried about driving it from ID to OK through the Rockies. I can see how my trip would have gone. It's a beautiful car, you'll get her fixed and enjoy her for years to come. (sorry too if you paid that premium low mile price for it. OOoof).
I did not pay the asking price
Sorry Cameron. What a mess. It can only get better from here out. Your look exactly reminded me of me driving home from work end of the day and my clutch going out...what the hell am I gonna do and the fear...At least Tow Truck drivers are generally nice and empathetic...
Cam! I'm sorry this happened to you. That really sucks, but I'm sure it's all meant to be a part of your great RUclips journey. Now we know! Next purchase like this, it's worth asking the seller if you can take a few hours or the day to have a local shop/mechanic inspect it for any detrimental flaws that could cost $$. Cheering for you man!
So sorry that this happened man I know how it feels I just got a new si and the clutch Burnt out a week after I bought it (preowned) so sorry to hear this man I’m so excited for you and your car and I hope it turns out better for you!
I won't kick you when you're down...hope everything works out buddy.
Man, i was just about to swap my 84 corvette for a 97 cobra!! Perhaps i should reconsider! 😅
Btw, the similar thing happened to my vette.. I was going reverse, i let go of the clutch too soon and the engine stalled and died. The stick stayed in some weird half reverse position completely stuck! Could not move it a bit with or without clutch being depressed. After few unsuccessful attempts to wiggle it around I finally decided to start the car.. the car jumped in Reverse like i unclogged something and the car died again. But this time the gear went fully to reverse and i was able to engage in all gears with the clutch. Not sure what it was, but year later the gears work like a charm!! Hope not to jinx it tho!😆
Anyway, good luck hope it’s nothing serious!!
Just subscribed and would love to see the updates and other content!
Haha nice! Nobody in history has been more stoked to drink a cup of Starbucks coffee with Cam as this guy right here 😂👍🏼 legit
Wow, just wow, I can't believe all that happened! At least you met some nice locals, and you're keeping a great attitude about it! Good luck with everything going forward!! It is a clean looking Cobra 🐍 though!
It will be okay. It's a Nice Mustang Cobra. It will be running strong again soon. Cant wait for the updates.
Crazy man. Reminds me of my dad and I blowing out the clutch after buying his 85 foxbody and getting stranded. You will get it figured out!
Hopefully everything goes well for you and the stang Cam! Your a good guy that’s why god sent you those nice men. Stay positive brother, great video as always 👍
Welcome to the Stang Game bro! You've got the right attitude to own one of these cars! Good luck, and awesome channel dude!
IMRC, intake manifold runner controls. It’s not the exhaust valves opening it’s a secondary set of short runner intake runners that are opened up at ~3200 rpm.
Bro! Last week I told you that I wasn't excited about a Mustang for THIS EXACT REASON! Their transmissions suck! I hope it gets fixed and you can enjoy the car.
Mann that sucks glad you were able to figure it all out . Can't wait to see what's coming for that beaut
Fun way to start off with a new car. Hopefully it’s an easy fix. If you do go with an aftermarket shifter, I’d go with MGW shifters! Best shifters for mustangs out there
Thanks for the recommendation!
Sorry for the rough start. I think it’ll be good for your channel though. I hope for blue skies and tailwinds here on out.
Sorry you are dealing with those headaches but thank God you're safe.
Awww man this sucks but I’m glad to see you got to drive the car a bit before it broke down. Car looks gorgeous. Mustangs and civics have always been my favorite cars so I really look forward to your other videos.
That sound you have is your throw out bearing in your clutch. I know because i switched out my clutch but kept my old 1(throw out bearing)and does the exact same thing whenever you engage and disengage. Shouldn’t be that much of a trouble and i hope your tranny is fine bro. Keep us posted Cam
That’s unfortunate man. But dude lemme tell you this was by your best video. Something about it i rlly liked lol. Good stuff man, cant wait to see whats next!
Thank you
That's one way to welcome you to the Ford gang!!! We are still nevertheless glad to have you :) Keep up the good work man. You're doing great.
You bought a Ford and it broke down leaving you stranded. Welcome to the owners club.
Dude… it sucks that happened. This is starting to look like a tv show when a conflict happens and ends w/ “to be continued”.
It’s a sweet ride though, and I’m sure it’ll bring out a smile once it’s running again. Strawberry paint, Seats vanilla pudding.
Sad to see you have problems with the car from the get go. But it’s pretty much expected that it will have some problems since it’s an old car, just not this soon though. Despite the misfortune, you still made a great video/content and it makes it more interesting to watch. That trooper is super nice. I have one question though, since he pushed you towards the gas station, how’s your bumper? No dents or scratches?
Thanks, and no dents or scratches
Hopefully it's a shifter linkage and you can just throw a short shifter.
Damn i new i should of said something. These cobras was pretty bad during the years i new few guys that spun the bearings and some with rod knock but i didnt want be the negative guy talking bad about a pretty low mileage one. But these mustangs isnt the ones from what I remember they had head issues also. I no this isn’t related to your issue but i thought i put it out there before u start dumping a lot money into it. If u want an american v8 i would recommend getting into a Ls platform they have their issues also but parts and labor is way more reasonable. I no because in the early 2000 we worked on these plate forms a lot and theres reason why people still work on the LS platform and not these dual over head cam v8s. Best luck to you man hope u get it situated but from what i see and hear your synchro is out and its stuck. If can be a pretty costly fix if your taking it to ford. Best luck to you!
Im on the road now. No 5th gear or reverse, but will get it fixed at a local shop next week
@@Camhill182 hope you get it all figured out my camaro will also be getting turbocharged this winter
@@Camhill182 nice good to hear at least your back on the road
Adapt and overcome man! You're gonna remember this trip for a long time and laugh about it. Looking forward to the content with it!
Damn sorry for what you’re going through. Hope it all works out for you. At least you got to meet nice people along the way!
I’m super excited for this car. Hoping to get one here soon
I gotchu Cam. Watching in my pocket. Keep on keeping on!!
Cam, I’m sure something good is gonna come out of this bad situation. Good luck with everything man! On another subject... your videos freaking rock!!!
Hey Cam. This happened to me before on my Miata. I suddenly got stuck in a gear. Maybe check your slave cylinder I replaced mine and worked. Check if there’s a leak.
Thank you for sharing, i’ll get it all fixed this week!
