    It's good to see someone using a decimal point rather than the idiocy of a full stop!

    Hi, calculator in the video is a Texas Instruments TI-25 and it’s served me fantastically well and was in daily use for over 30 years. I love the exchange function that’s great when you have to divide one string of calculations above the line by a string of calculations below the line.

    Very nice video. I actually made a standard for myself so that I always leave the battery connected to the load for 1 minute, because that will give you a more realistic value. Keep up the good work. :)

    Hi that’s good, what I wanted to do was get folk to consider looking at things from a different point of view. With the price of batteries now it’s worth understanding them but probably more importantly if you can dump any rogue batteries that could shorten your videoing or picture taking time than that’s a good thing.
    Kind Regards ... Andy

    Hi Dennis, yes, it was the best job I’ve ever had; I loved every minute of it. And bear in mind I’ve done some interesting jobs including management roles, directorships and company owner. The cinema was a 1,500 seater, Art Deco, faboulos! The world of cinema is of course all fantasy and it was my first job when I left school. Just think I got to show Goldfinger time after time, on the day we got Goldfinger my Chief sent me down into the Auditorium to watch the film, magic!

    Hi Andy great job,I use this method end it's working for me ,I have a rezistor 10W 1ohm end check my lipo packs (2s,3s,5s,6s) I have one question is better to check the full pack. ,or better individual cells.

    • @AndyDaviesByTheSea
      @AndyDaviesByTheSea 5 лет назад +1

      Hi there, if you get a satisfactory answer from checking a bunch of cells then I guess that's OK. But if the answer is bad then you should check each cell individually as one bad cell will negatively influence the result and you wouldn't want to discard a whole bunch of batteries for the sake of one bad one.
      All the best . . . . Andy

    hey andy, i need your opinion. I've built an active antenna circuit for one of my radios. the circuit as is runs off a 9v battery , im gonna box it up and run it off mains with a 12v transformer,regulatorr ,the whole bit. my ? is should i use a resistor or inductor in my pi filter, im worried about rf jumping on the mains. ty

    Thanks, Andy... great, informative video. I see you’re recommending a 100 ohm resistor for these types of battery IR tests. What wattage would you recommend the resistor be?

    • @haxemeback9304
      @haxemeback9304 19 дней назад

      It wouldn't really matter because it's just for a few seconds or ten so you could use less watts resistance

  • @The_Last_Post

    Hi Andy, could you tell me what Wattage resistor to use with a 12v 2Ah sealed lead acid battery? I need to check the internal resistance

  • @AndyDaviesByTheSea
    @AndyDaviesByTheSea 11 лет назад

    If you want to reduce RF then an appropriate style/value RF inductor should be the most effective component. You’ll never really know if you have a RFI problem until you test the system and sometimes it can be easy to stop and another design can drive you nuts.
    If it worked OK with the battery you might find if there's a problem with the PSU (with a resistor) then a few turns of mains lead through a ferrite ring may be all you need.
    Keep it simple.
    Good luck.
    All the best .... Andy

    Hi Andy, As always a very informative tutorial, I really appreciate them. The reason I wanted Aberporths Post Office Address was so I could mail you something without having to compromise your physical home address, I trust that a package would be delivered or able to be picked up at pharmacy P.O.. Take care, be good. See ya, C.

    Hi Cass, I don’t know what you’ve done but you really shouldn’t send anything.
    If I know something is coming I can arrange a collection facility at the PO but it’s not something I want to encourage.
    What I’d say is, if you haven’t already sent whatever it is you were planning then pleases don’t put yourself to any expense or inconvenience. What I do on RUclips is done for my own satisfaction and to help others, and it’s given freely to anyone who’s interested.
    Kind Regards ... Andy
