The African Pride pre shampoo is the best thing I have found. It just detangles so well ....Especially after taking out my braids it was soooo helpful.

I knew it was going to be this product just from the title. I never used to be interested in products made for detangling because conditioner does the same thing but this, THIS! I love it. Its the best pre shampoo product I have ever used.
I've only heard good things about this pre-poo from those who have to pre-poo before shampooing. I've noticed when I go 2 weeks in between wash day a pre-poo is needed because my hair is super tangled verses when I wash weekly. Great video 👍🏾

I’ve been using this for a few years and I like it a lot. Idk what happened but it seems like the price went through the roof out of no where. I started using white people conditioner and water instead as my pre shampoo. It does a great job at loosening up dried in gel and products.

So glad that you’re talking about this prepoo, I use it on my hair, especially after a protective style, it helps keep my hair moisturize and helps with the detangling. It’s something to consider getting.

I love the shampoo, leave in and curling cream from this line. I hated the conditioner but I’m interested in trying this too. My store didn’t have it at the time that I initially purchased but I think I might try this.
Hey Narada I love that pre poo it is phenomenal! Friend I don't know where you've been because people have been using that for like 2 years! It's a gem! I wish it was more accessible though. You can't find it on the ground hardly anymore and if you do your lucky!
Instead what I have been using is the Just for me curl peace detangling treatment. They are cousins but the just for me one has better ingredients. It melts the tangles the same and defines the curls like a dream!
I've been too stuck on my water and hair grease to notice lol
@@AfrikanHairGod i feel you hey if it ain't broke don't fix it! But I love that stuff and the just for me version too. I always make sure to have one in my arsenal. And the best part is that they are affordable both are under 6 dollars for 12oz.

Even in a store that has a minimal African-American stock (the ones located in areas that are primarily Caucasian households)…I just found it and found out about it!
I’m biracial and this isn’t usually a problem or something I’ve needed…even with natural hair down to my back. (My stylist is amazing and helped me grow it out naturally. I’ve been with her for 20 years and we also now have tons of products available for mixed chicks!)
I’m unfortunately homeless and living out of my Jeep. I usually wash my hair once a week and then blow dry/flat iron it year round (except the summer when I’m going to the beach/pools, or just lazy). I haven’t washed my hair in like 6 weeks now and I also need a trim desperately (like I said, my stylist is literally the only one who can touch my hair, but she’s just getting back from being off from Breast Cancer and I don’t have the finances to do it now), it’s something I’ve never experienced in my life so I’m going to try it out and pray!!
The shampoo and conditioner work good but they should include a two step shampoo process with the first being a clarifying shampoo.
That conditioner is so chunky though
LISTEN TO NARADA! He is not lying this product works wonders. I even used it on my best friends really tight curled 4c hair and like Narada said if you let it sit it does really help to melt those tangles away. Great video I hope your hands do get better soon.
This really worked. Mine arrived on NYE & was much cheaper than other detanglers I've used. It got through my tangles so fast and about to buy a couple more to keep stocked up. Thank you @AfrikanHairGod

I've heard great things about this pre-shampoo. I, personally, have never tried it BUT I haven't came across anyone that hasn't liked it. I've also heard that like you said, if you apply it and let it sit for a few minutes, 5 the max, the tangles aren't there anymore or are just so much easier to get through. And I have to say, you say you have blisters, but I did notice when your break outs were worse, your pigmentation on your hands especially around the knuckles, were darker but in this video, THEM HANDS LOOKING GOOD!!!! I'm glad that they're clearing up for the most part but no rushing back to the salon. You have to take care of YOU before you can take care of someone else. You know that already though..TFS!
Yeah I get blisters all over my hands and fingers then they dry, crack, split, and peel so it creates scarring and hyperpigmentation from the healing. It takes about 2 months to start looking normal again. I hope it doesn't get too bad. It's even cause me to develop dermatitis in my beard area and I had to get a prescription and shave my beard down unfortunately. It's been a lot more to deal with than most ppl know. It was a really great feeling being in the salon and just feeling the sensation of washing hair and styling again. Even if only just for one time.
@@AfrikanHairGod i know it did. Some ppl actually get bored sitting in the house especially when we even on lockdown. I wasn't bc im an essential worker 🙄🤣but it would of drove me nuts. I know it does to you bc being in the salon/doing hair is your PASSION! I REALLY hope that w.e. treatments you come across really helps working so you can get back to your love!!!!

Just for me have a detangling treatment which is a similar consistency to African pride, both work well on my coils

After seeing your recommendation I just had to buy this product. Used it on 3 different hair types today. OMG it is awesome. It made the detangling process super easy.
Went to five stores today and scored three at the last store. 😊 I used the product on my daughter's hair today that has been in braids for three months. LOVED IT!! Seriously, the tangles and knots melted.
I’m glad you mentioned how you need something cleansing to really clean it out because I tried a similar product with similar ingredients, the Curl Peace Detangling Treatment, and I ended up returning the product because I felt like it took a bit to just clean the product off my hair and I don’t want to do more than two cleanses and depending on the cleanser not more than one cleanse so I just use my Giovanni 50:50 Balancing Conditoner if I need to get knots out before cleansing. I get 33.8 oz of it for $12.99 at Marshall’s/TJMaxx and it’s so clutch honestly. It also rinses CLEAN which I love whilst still being very detangling and smoothing.

Yes! You don't know how much hair I lost to matting and tangles before this product. I hated wash day before this. I was buying this up every time I want to the beauty supply store. My sister finally tried recently, and she sent me a text saying thank you! Only thing is during this pandemic, jars are smaller and prices higher in my area. Could be because online. I thought I saw you use it on your hair, but whoever it was. Thank you!

Yessss I love this pre-poo detangler. ❤️I agree about the shampoo and conditioner too. I love using the shampoo on a weekly basis but if I’m coming out of a protective style I definitely would use something else. The conditioner from that line did nothing for my hair 🙄

My natural hair has breakage all over at my roots. Should I cut my hair all off and start over again? I have alot of split ends
I usually use a regular rinse out conditioner as my pre poo (Tresemme or Suave) but I have used African Pride and it’s not a bad product. It’s hard to find around here. Stores that carry African Pride usually don’t carry the entire line, or they’re always out of it. The Korean beauty stores have it and they are a last resort for me.

Yes, this is a staple for me and my Mom. Its pretty inexpensive. I've seen it at Wal-Mart for $4.69 at one point. You also can get a 3 pack from Amazon for about $15-$18 depending on availability.

I started using it a few months ago and I'm very happy with it.
I also use the AP Five Essential Oils. Great combo of oils, none of which irritate my scalp.

I Love this product. I don't struggle to detangle my hair so I only use it when my hair is badly tangled, which really puts it to the test and it does wonders... seriously. And I absolutely have to use it if I use the mask cause my hair "HATES" the mask, the mask makes my hair feel drier then before, like it takes the softness from the prepoo away. I want to stop using the deep conditioner but I hate wasting haha
I got it on Amazon. Next day till I washed it hair again scalp itched LIKE CRAZY. Wonder if Amazon dupe? It detangled great and smelled great though
