Between the 3 germans C class 3 series and A4, this is the best. I drove the three of them and the A4 stands out on many aspects. The thing I love the most is the dual clutch transmission so quick and sharp that you get all the power instantly.
+eltingville81 Same exterior? Can you shut it? All brands have iconic designs. BMW, Mercedes, Cadillac, etc. Stop blaming it on just Audi you whiny person.
The narrator refers to this being the 9th generation - according to Audi it is the 5th generation. The first A4 was released in 1994 and was called B5 Generation. The 2017 is the first of what is called B9 Generation, so I can see why he might say it's the 9th generation. Source: Audi Magazine, Edition 109.
I lease a 2016 S4 DSG with sport diff and based on what I've read, the new S4 is softer and less fun to drive but I will wait to judge until I test drive it when my lease is up in 2 years.
Like it. Bummer no manual.. also optioned how I typically do its a LOT more expensive than before at 50k (I've had 3 A4's). At that money, other cars get interesting despite how good this is.
Does this car in the review have adaptive suspension because the drive select button only changes the steering weight and dynamic puts transmission in to S mode I believe?
I believe it's the size of an Altima might be a bit smaller interior wise. The Altima seems a little more spacious inside. The A3 would be similar to a Sentra or Versa. I've sat in the back of an A3 it's not as spacious as a Sentra
The emissions scandal hurt Audi & Porsche as well. As they share parts and platforms with VW. Which will affect their sales and bottom line in the near future.
Everywhere except Jamaica. Audi is one of the more popular luxury brand here. FYI ....true test are only done here. We have every kind of road...hello ?
I know that it is a matter of preference but you mention Lexus. I'll take German engineering any day of the week, especially with automobiles. High end Italian cars are exciting but how many people can afford them. That leads me back to the Germans. They have the handling, ride and technology expertise as well as looks. Granted, the higher end German car price points are somewhat high but more attainable than the Italian high end cars and still give you a joy to drive. Even Volkswagen models are very decent (i.e. GTI, CC, GLI) and reasonably priced. In conclusion, even when the German cars change the generation models, it is generally speaking, an improvement both in technology, design and execution.
Yeah, when they are not cheating on their emissions. I have an Audi A5 in France and German car are not as incredible as you make them sound. I'll take a Japanese or American luxury brand over these blotted German branding living off past performance.
+cwillfrommd Any amount of Horsepower is not going to do much in 6 feet of Snow genius. FYI the VW Phaeton/CC cost more than the Audi and has less features. Don't believe it. Go look up CNET on Cars of Brian Cooley reviewing the CC.
They should test these cars in New England (US). The roads up here are such shit, turned my 06 A4 in to a rattle box and is now doing the same to my Jetta. Not one stretch of road here is smooth.
I agree... The C is too (fill in the blank)... And i find the interior overstyled.. And the screen is ugly with the big ass bezel.. I like the simple lines of the Audi.. And the tech..
I agree with all these comments.I just got into the new a4 and im so happy. The interior looks futuristic and at night the ambient lighting is amazing.I did look at the c300 and i found the interior to be classy but felt it was a bit dated especially the instrument cluster.Even though both cars have the fixed screen the one in the Audi looks a lot better and more expensive
It is sad that permanent AWD with crown gear differential is now replaced with this system that is essentially front-wheel drive until computer decides. No matter how you look at it - it is a reactive system, very similar to cheap systems used on RAV4, CRV, and many other predominantly front wheel drive cars. This system will have more under-steer, will be more unpredictable in the corners, and it is unclear can in ever send more torque to the rear wheels that to the front wheels? Crown gear differential could send up to 85% of the torque to the rear wheels, making cars feel sporty, handle well in the corners and fun to drive. Even though the design of this model is beautiful, I guess my current Audi is the last one that I will own.
The A4 doesn't look sporty or dynamic at all. Audis have never been dynamic or great handling. They understeer and feel dull to drive, even more so in the forward wheel drive configuration. I will say it's a good looking car and has a nice looking interior, but as a driver it wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my list. I'd go for a 3/4 series or Jaguar XE.
dimez000 straight 6 is amazing. you are clearly ignorant and don't know the first thing about cars. Jaguar are awesome handling, dynamic cars. You're probably a hair dresser. Your type are attracted to Audis with fancy lights, even if they drive like a pos. You wouldn't know a good driving car if it ran you over. Go back to your rebadged Volkswagen.
kevinmsft You are likely a child with no driving license, commenting on stuff you have no experience of. You haven't stated any facts, just stupid playground name calling. Go away now, your mommy is calling you
interiors are absolutely fantastic, same as the bmw 7series...world class leading on this matter...to bad the adi looks just as the old one only different headlights which are ugly as hell anyway...
+Maur Ice I've driven both. The C class is not better. The interior isn't as nice, it feels cheaper, more road noise and it doesn't handle or drive as well.
+N1ckN1ck100 Auto reviewers are notorious for lots of in-town driving, jackrabbit starts at every light, constant sprints on open roads, and letting cars idle for extended periods (while shooting video), so I would take 21.3 mpg with a grain of salt.
You have to be objective in your future reviews. Otherwise there's no point reviewing. You said nothing negative about the car - that can't be right, agreed?
Am I the only person who does not like this trend of automated braking and steering assists??? I don't like the idea of control being taken away from me in a vehicle
Very true.. I have an A5 Sportsback in Europe and the biggest issue is reliability and lack of high tech. They nickel and dime you to death. Just glad this is a company car.
+Bob Bob Having owned multiple generations of this motor, its just astounding how good it is. I also have had several early Lexus LS400's, and this 2l 4 cylinder makes more power and torque than my Lexus 4l V8, and has a more interesting character. Plus, these mod so amazingly easy to produce really impressive power. You may not see how good these are, but 4 Audi's and 4 VW's later, I sure do.
+spinnetti if you've already gone through 8 cars then I have no reason to trust the car. How often are you upgrading? Your comment doesn't change anything. It's not a technological marvel because there is nothing new here. Tesla is a technological marvel. What the hell do you mean by "character"? Sounds like a bunch of BS from a fanboy.
to ialioo I stand by what I say about German engineering because they're always raising the bar on performance and handling as well as technology. They may have cheated on emissions but I'm sure they're not the only ones or will be the only ones for that matter (not to marginalize what they did because it was wrong). How about those Japanese air bags that took lives! Or the deadly Corvair that took lives because of safety issues and I haven't personally seen many people survive a Corvette crash either with it's fiberglass body. So you see there is enough blame and skeletons in each car manufacturers closet to go around if you want to play the blame game. The Germans still set the bar that other car manufacturers strive for to try to achieve and surpass. I don't see that happening much with cost cutting American engineering or Japanese proven but outdated old technology. That is why I'll stay with the Germans when it comes engineering because they have a remarkably brilliant mind that strives for advancement and perfection.
European car makers stopped putting manual transmissions in their cars quite awhile ago. The only cars that still come with a manual are the American muscle cars and even those come optional with an automatic. Everyone is phasing away from the manual. It's out of date to them I guess.
Driving a 2015 A3 now and love it!! Want someone else in my family to step into one of these
Between the 3 germans C class 3 series and A4, this is the best. I drove the three of them and the A4 stands out on many aspects. The thing I love the most is the dual clutch transmission so quick and sharp that you get all the power instantly.
This guy always does such a nice job with the reviews. Definately one of the better car review channels.
This car looks amazing much better than the older ones. AMAZING.
They did a great job with the interior design. It makes the previous A4 interior look really outdated.
I guess were not going to talk about the trunk or rear seats?
I wonder how long those high def screens will last, and more importantly, how much will they cost to repair/replace.
I've never owed this types of brand cars. I would be happy with this car.
ive heard the electronic shift is annoying because you can overshoot easily. Did you come across any issues?
So basically it still has the same exterior styling since 2009 but with different interior design. Nice job Audi!
+eltingville81 Same exterior? Can you shut it? All brands have iconic designs. BMW, Mercedes, Cadillac, etc. Stop blaming it on just Audi you whiny person.
Lol have you not seen the bmw line. It's been the same for a long time 😂
Does the A4 still only have a electronic oil level indicator? I want a manual dipstick.

emmgeevideo
.
it was called Audi 80
.
it had B1, B2, B3, B4 generations prior,
.
from B5 it was renamed as AudiA4
Damn that car is sexy. I will own an a4 one day
How tall are you? I'm 6'6" and I think this would be too tight of a fit
cant wait for the s4

Guys what is the IIHS crash rating on this, especially the overlap front? Is it still poor?
great review👍👍can you review MclaRen 570s. thank you
Does this car in the review have adaptive suspension because the drive select button only changes the steering weight and dynamic puts transmission in to S mode I believe?
+rossian77 Adaptive damping suspension is an optional package available only on Prestige models.
Is this reliable?
lovely a4
What about the fuel economy? is it as good as a BMW 3series?
Awd is 24 city 33 highway
Can we get a Ron to Cnet movement gong? I mean they got Emme. Also where is that Rappaport guy?
do you know if the apple car play feature can be uploaded into older models? I have a 2015 a3
+Courtney _ unfortunately not.
so if they are not magnectic dampers, what are they?
Lexus always a step behind
That perfect technologies, hence why they last forever.
So im wondering is the A4 the size of a nissan versa or is it the same as the nissan altima?
I believe it's the size of an Altima might be a bit smaller interior wise. The Altima seems a little more spacious inside. The A3 would be similar to a Sentra or Versa. I've sat in the back of an A3 it's not as spacious as a Sentra
amazing car
how much cost ??
How much is the car as shown

how does this dude fit in the car he looks 6'5'' 240
This isn't a bias review at all... obviously. If it were you wouldn't have heard the criticisms of the vehicle.
I know that it is a matter of preference but you mention Lexus. I'll take German engineering any day of the week, especially with automobiles. Read my RUclips comments on your comments.
Classy in its own class or league
I love you Audi you are my dream 😘
I will have the A3...it's just the perfect size. I wish that Audi would stop increasing the size of their vehicles.
A3 is the same as Jetta. Be smart
cwillfrommd A3 is AWD.
Audiwan Kenobi So what? two hundred hp don't do much in 6 feet of snow anyway. overprice VW
+cwillfrommd Any amount of Horsepower is not going to do much in 6 feet of Snow genius.

Doesn't the car come with android auto as well?
+Lex Sir It does. As well as Apple CarPlay. Both as an option if i remember correct.
PhElias I knew I heard that before...I guess they forgot to mention that
How tall are you?
an inch longer again? Didn't think that bloated thing could get any bigger. (sight)
7 yrs later still can't afford one, ive treat myself to a bmx bike
this a4 looks so much better than Mercedes c class
with the S line package
I agree... The C is too (fill in the blank)... And i find the interior overstyled.. And the screen is ugly with the big ass bezel.. I like the simple lines of the Audi.. And the tech..

Vorsprung durch Technik
If you want that nice instrument cluster screen it'll be around $48k...
nice

Real world mpg please
So the A4 gets a dual clutch and the new S4 won't? Lame.
The 8-speed ZF is also lightning fast. Most reviewers didn't even realize it wasn't a dual clutch until told.
well that is really lame!
mpg?
Doesn't matter because they are probably going to lie about it. VW is really good at cheating.
if its 75% of sales i wonder i cant find many
How much did Audi pay you to say those things?
I believe its 65kgs lighter than the previous car
Howcome you don't go into the backseats? Theirs people out here that would like to see the legroom in comparison to their cars in the segment.
Nice commercial.
haha
Seriously

+bodrulm1 Oh another BMW fan boy... that's new LOL.
+kevinmsft show's your mental level that you use a term 'fan boy'...time to grow up just a bit
Ya because you are a boy.
kevinmsft You are likely a child with no driving license, commenting on stuff you have no experience of. You haven't stated any facts, just stupid playground name calling. Go away now, your mommy is calling you
Still looks the same as last generation except for the headlights. Most Audis look the same.
+chancy319 the same can be said about BMW
interiors are absolutely fantastic, same as the bmw 7series...world class leading on this matter...to bad the adi looks just as the old one only different headlights which are ugly as hell anyway...
The most bland and uninspiring exterior would have one of the nicest interiors, still not as nice as the new c-class interior though.
Beats the 3 series but not the C-class
+Maur Ice I've driven both. The C class is not better. The interior isn't as nice, it feels cheaper, more road noise and it doesn't handle or drive as well.
+binyamj cheap and Mercedes doesn't go together.
+123gwf if you have people around you that are impressed by badges then you need some new people around you.
+Jaylen Bond you've obviously never seen a cla then..
joedogg9836 a cla can run up to 75 grand. That's not cheap.
Aren't Audi transmissions not so great?
+Matthew Garcia they're just fine, no real problems in mine
ewwwww C300 will merk this any day 4matic is amazing on the benz
Only flaw personally I feel like the rear looks like a Volkswagen which is such a turn off.
With a mean of 21.3 MPG at 1:05 ouch!
+N1ckN1ck100 Auto reviewers are notorious for lots of in-town driving, jackrabbit starts at every light, constant sprints on open roads, and letting cars idle for extended periods (while shooting video), so I would take 21.3 mpg with a grain of salt.
Yea it’s on average 37/27 highway/city respectively this guy either drives all day or beats the shit out the car
i prefer my "dated" bimmer interior , just saying
You have to be objective in your future reviews. Otherwise there's no point reviewing. You said nothing negative about the car - that can't be right, agreed?
Horrible roads on Italian alps?! You must be joking
Am I the only person who does not like this trend of automated braking and steering assists??? I don't like the idea of control being taken away from me in a vehicle
Treizez34 then don't buy it
King LeBron slowly that's becoming a decision people won't have with cars
why is everybody so mad?
+Terrell Jennings, because they can't afford it. otherwise they would buy one.
50k for an A4?! Wow...
So ? It's an Audi
Luis Corona that doesn’t mean u should get ripped off lol, a mindset like that is how most ppl get bullshit rubbed in their face
smh poor people and these cars
This car probably will break down in 1 or 2 year
+Jea pmurt Worthless comment.
Very true.. I have an A5 Sportsback in Europe and the biggest issue is reliability and lack of high tech. They nickel and dime you to death. Just glad this is a company car.
Wrong Audi is the most reliable German vehicle for 2016 and 2017
21 INCHES!????!! :0
+Adam Maciejewski I'm pretty sure it's 18 std and 19 opt
technological marvel ? the 2 liter engine still uses iron cast block, exactly the same as 20 years old audi's and vw. lol.

BMW 4 looks much better.
personal preference
I want a RWD version Audi. It makes no sense, German saloons need RWD.
call me I'm an Audi Brand Specialist at 316.719.8713 I can get you a 2017 Audi A4
looks like a bootleg video on my flat screen
I hate how the LED accents in the headlights look like the legs of a bed bug.
So bloody ugly.
c class is better.
c class is NOT better...don't get me started!
+Audiwan Kenobi The c class is better. Get over it.
Someone else will eventually step in and tell you the same thing....you'll see.
+Audiwan Kenobi and
C class buahhh shit interior and even worse drive.
again, no manual.. wtf man

Dude they stopped putting manuals in a lot of cars, it's dying out now
💤
BORING!
This car is so boring from the outside.
Lol all it has is a digital cluster and everyone calling it a marvel... paid reviews
Nothing special here. Moving on....... Good channel though
Copying Mercedes ugly dash screen
