i feel so bad reading some of the comments. you already mentioned you’re a nursing student and you’re still learning. i’m a nursing student myself and i couldn’t help but feel terrible about how people reacted. my lab doesn’t have enough money to keep supplying a bunch of materials either and for most of it we have to pay for (which is only a limited amount of equipment to use so you have to keep reusing things). obviously in a medical setting this would never happen, but when you’re learning it’s okay to make mistakes (in the laboratory setting), as of now there’s a professor to help teach you and other instructors. i’m sure a lot of the comments have good intent and only want to make sure no one is harmed, but you’re still learning and you got this! you will be a great nurse someday (if not already) 💓

What do you mean? All those c-19 shots were given by drawing the liquid into the syringe and then directly injecting that into the person. I've seen it done on me and all the other ppl in line. Same for the flu shot and the mandatory one you get in school (I think was hpv and hep b). Oh and the mumps/measles/rubella one was done by the dr in the same manner.
@jillibear there not meant to, the needle is supposed to be changed! Flu vaccines are in pre filled syringes so I'm not sure what ur seeing there and cov9d shots are meant to have needle changes as is everything but ppl are lazy. When you have an injection and it hurts a lot it's probably a blunt needle. Same as blood taking, if u miss that vein u should change the needle, but yet I see nurses use the same one again, I always change mine. Crazy!
Wipe the skin before to allow at least 10 seconds to dry Based on the amount of liquid and the size of the needle, this is an IM injection so always go in at 90 degrees (sub-q can be 45 if pt is skinny) Since the needle is not a blunt needle access device and looks like it has a bevel, it’s definitely okay to stick the pt with it (just keep in mind that some solutions will need a blunt access device because they’re thicker!) The best thing ab labs is you get to make all the mistakes before you get on the floor. Keep practicing girly!
The worst part is not being able to actually use the disposable supplies because they save them for reuse! Its completely different in a hospital setting where you have to tear off a wrapper, pop off a vial cap, open an alcohol swab and change the needles - all without laying anything down.
heyo idk if this was an SC or IM route but if it’s IM, plz do not forget to pull on the plunger before administering medication. reason being we do not wanna hit a vessel(if u do then u have to restart the procedure). other than that ur sterile technique looks awesome and keep up the good work future nurse!!🩺🩺

Good prep! Straight in 90 degrees next time! That was my favorite part too, but we injected each other in my cheap school. 😂
You never use the same needle on the patient that you draw medication for
Insulin you can
Tell that to the insulin syringe.
In sim lab you have to because some schools can't afford all new stuff.

All the negative comments just go to show that bullying is the #1 complaint of new nurses.
I dont see any negative only the comments saying not tp re sheath

It musts take a lot of courage to do that kind of stuff I hope you become a doctor one day and I hope you have a great time being a doctor❤❤❤
Wow I’m a nursing student (1st week) and it’s sad to see how current nurses/advanced students can be so mean to one another.

Re-capping the needle is a no-no.
That is the proper way to recap a needle if it must be done
I love it!
That needle scares me
Learn to recap totally without touching the cap r only touching the base of the cap to lock close after covering. Always imagine surveillance mgr close by. Good luck stay safe and best of luck.
Why are we recapping needles?
Because it's not being used on people, better to reuse when JUST practicing, thought that was obvious?
Bc shes a student practicing and sometimes it's necessary irl. Why didn't YOU know this???
This is all wrong. That is an IM injection needle, so it goes at 90 degree angle. Also, did not inject air into vial, that’s why you had difficulty withdrawing solution. Plus, do not recap needle.
but she did injected air
She did inject air into the vial of u look closely. But if it’s IM she did go in wrong.
Ryt
I can’t remember the last time I injected air first. Just pull harder
She did say that she is still learning, so give her grace
How to injected with the syringe
You should change the needle before injecting!
ur needle was a little bent inside i remember doing that over and over in school haha ur doing great tho!!
you did not draw medication to check if it is in the blood vessels
that’s not an up to date tactic that’s taught. the research proves it’s a unnecessary step
Amazing well good nursing roll follow it is clean 😊😊
Aise kaise lagana shikhge
Please never re sheath, it's asking for needle stick injuries. Also trick to doing an intramuscular injection is hold it like a dart
I was gonna say the same thing

Wow omg 😲 no one has ever said this before. Its like she's a student or something
Why did MA's have tp use each other for pokes 😂😂😂 or am i just old as heck
Hiw do you know if you did it wrong?
If that is insulin…..
Push back plunger before inserting medicine for IM injections wether it is in. Musle or vein
I was taught in nursing school that you don’t have to do that anymore. This was back in 2011 at a big university. Same for the few hospitals I worked at.
The gloves are too much big, try a smaller size, they will be more comfortable.
I don’t know how you can do anything in gloves that are miles to big for you lol my worst nightmare
Never recap needs, clean the skin....
There are some cases when recapping is necessary and this is the correct technique for doing it
Wipe the vial before drawing meds!
She did "wipe" the vial...Remember, she's in sim lab so she may not have been able to open up all the supplies used for the purpose of making this video.
kya apko nhi pta ki injection ke baad cotton bhi lagaya jata hai

So many things wrong here......
Never set injection on work top.
Why?
Risk of cross infection. Always use a disposable tray. Or sterilize a reusable one with an alco wipe.
Hot gloves
Change the needle once ite been used to draw up and never recap the needle
