and even crazier when you realize all the people we lost for absolutely nothing.
Yall better release this in IMAX thats the proper format to watch a movie like this
Edit: They are releasing it in Early Access IMAX on April 9 lets go!
Minecraft has it the week before, and The Amateur has it same weekend, it's not getting an Imax release.
@@har795 Damn i just realized that fr its opening on a very busy weekends.
@ThisIsOfficiallyCinema but it will be on other PLF screens
@@MrBlueBot5 Dolby cinema hopefully?
If a movie isn't shot in/for IMAX, it makes no sense to release it in IMAX.
I said it once, and I'll say it again, having war veterans in charge of a war movie is a fantastic decision. The best people to tell about a war, *is someone that has actually been to war.* This movie is definitely gonna be a standout this year.
Stanley Kubrick directed Full Metal Jacket and never was in the military. Did an excellent job on the movie.
were their any vets from the winning side, or just the loser invaders? we get plenty of pro-US propaganda already
“Not only will America come to your country and kill all your people, but what's worse is that they'll come back 20 years later and make a movie about how killing your people made their soldiers feel sad.”
no they come and try to tell a story that portrays always as hero's, when they are but filthy war criminals. Pathetic whitewashing US propoganda of US warcrimes
It’s very much up to the individual. Chris Kyle did nothing but lie and embellish and tout American propaganda. Will wait to see the movie before thinking it’s anything other than a well directed ad for the military. They do have to sign off of the movie after all
Thanks u guys for this film my father served his time in Army & did 23 years in Army service from 77 to 01 & I can’t wait to see this film in early access to this film
Watching civil war in theatres made me realize that these types of movies are for the big screen. They nailed the audio and I’m sure it’ll continue with this one

@@يوسفالقرعان-ب3ج you’ve left that reply on 3 other comments that I’ve seen here. You okay bud?
Civil war fucking sucked tho. The trailer was the biggest misrepresentation of a film in recent years
This film is gonna be absolutely tense!
Agree! It is riveting!!
Yea, if you are 14, play cod and are easily impressed by military psyops, it surely will be great.
@@ibmicroapple9142 Honestly, you should think twice before you write anything, because Alex Garland has done already amazing job with Ex Machina and Civil War, which wasn't merely a military film, but a piece of art with a stunning visual, riveting story and a thought depth. Taken all together, Warfare won't be just a stupid macho military film for sure. I'm not saying, that it's gonna be spectacular, I don't know, all I can is say that it won't be a trash. Peace 😉
@@ibmicroapple9142this comment is so brain dead
well not as tense for the near 1M iraqi casualties by US butchers
As a combat veteran, thank you. I try to show people Mosul because I was an international volunteer in the Syrian civil war after I got out of the army airborne infantry and it’s the closest thing to my experience there.
By the end of shooting the film, all actors ended up with tinnitus lol
V.A: "Definitely not service related"
It's a sound fx added post production 😂
@har5814 No, we want the movie to feel authentic, so we used live ammunition lol
Imagine losing all this precious lives cos your government invented a lie to go to war at another continent.
It's the American way!
@@theslynglI’m doing my part! Are you doing yours?
Plus a bunch of soldiers from other countries, showing up when America asked to fight their illegal nonsensical war with them. Only for them now to be insulted by the president of your fucking country.
And worse, keep doing it over and over again
It doesn't matter if the official casus belli was shoddy, Iraq was set for regime change by the US for YEARS, with allies in the region begging the US to do something about it. Saddam Hussein was probably one of the last real tyrants in that region and used WMDs aka chemical weapons on his own population. But worst of all he threatened US oil supply by being a shadow on Kuwait, Bahrain even SA and UAE.
Sound amoral but there is nothing wrong with waging war to keep your gas prices low, gas prices are everything, they reflect how expensive food will be for the people in your country.
After 9/11 the opportunity to finally do this was better than ever.
And how many men the US lost to bring down an entire country then build it back up? 5,000 in 10 years.
That is excellent military leadership, just for reference 5,000 is what Russia will lose in a week against Ukraine.
My Shogun guy founds his way to the big screens may you show off ma guy
You should watch calm with horses
@@ChickenJarm Yes! Next level good. Inside, the one out in Australia with Guy Pearce right now is also an intense and challenging role for him, but he's so incredibly believable in his portrayal, according to Aussies, that the folks that don't already know about him are totally surprised he's not Australian. I hope it streams internationally before long.
A24 going from being the studio known for doing weird and interesting films to now getting into the world of war films is certainly not a direction I ever thought they’d go in especially with a filmmaker like Alex Garland, who is also known for making very interesting choices with how weird or unique his films are. This looks really good and barely any CGI used apart from some obvious areas where it’s needed.
Its super important (at least in my opinion) to have these type of studios and directors make war films, instead of just the same old Clint Eastwood macho man America first bullshit
@ well, to a degree I feel like you do need to do war films a little differently nowadays. I only say that because the number of real life and true stories about different things that happened in these wars is lessening by the year.
@@JohnClam From the trailer this exactly looks like a Clint Eastwoord macho man America first movie though - the US were invaders in Iraq and making another movie about it, where the trailer praises the explosions and action, glorifies the soldiers and their actions etc doesn't make it look like it's gonna be all too deep and thought provoking. If anything this looks exactly like the type of movie that A24 is not usually known for.
This is going to be a good war flick. That Death of a Unicorn definitely fits that weird and interesting plot at the same time.
Civil War is very a war film
As a huge fan of Alex Garland‘s work, I’m excited to see this on the big screen, but please screen this in an IMAX theater. This movie will be a treat of fresh air. I love his work and I always love his work from Civil War to ex machina I’m excited to see this film
It looks interesting, and it’s coming out on my birthday.
@ well early happy birthday to you mate
This is a great movie. For those thinking that it's propaganda, you should watch the movie first before coming to that conclusion.
Well said!
A24 keeps releasing the only movies I want to watch. Every. Single. Time
They release movies for all genres all year long….. I love it
Ghost story sucked. Civil war sucked
When you know it's Alex Garland and A24 you already know this will be epic
Civil war was lame
I'm not so sure after the disaster that was Civil War.
@@CruelQuertosone of the worst movies ever made
@@evisolutions-rv6ht Really really bad movie
A24 Has not and cannot miss in my eyes! Hit after hit after hit with some of my favorite movies.
Honestly there are absolutely some bad A24 movies out there you just won’t hear about them cause they will quietly get released straight to streaming/dvd. Only a some A24 movies get a “big budget” release and marketing
Say what you want about the movie and premise, but holy hell is this a wild career shift for D'Pharaoh after Reservation Dogs! Really happy to see him already getting huge projects like this.
I was expecting more action like this movie. I think that’s what a lot of people were expecting. Going into that movie.
A24 always brings it! Can't wait for another gritty installment. Bring it on!!!!
Joseph Quinn is everywhere nowadays and I'm for it. Good actor.
Going to see this with my brother who was in the Army for my birthday! Can’t wait!
Love seeing other vets make movies about our young adulthood. Looking forward to seeing it.
they leave out the racism, rape and egregious use of military authority though...its always a propaganda fest dude
A24 being the war filmmakers is totally cool with me
I just hope it doesn't end in glorification like every other war movie from the viewpoint of soldiers. I really liked "Come and See", from the civilians perspective...
Too late.
Glad to see this comment.. I think it is hard to make an anti-war movie from the perspective of soldiers… It works better as literature, as the visuals, the sounds, the drama of it all will always end in turning violence into a spectacle… All “anti-war” ends up doing it, despite it not being the aim… aestheticizing violence will never work sadly.. And this movie will just become another American propaganda film I think - glorying the camaraderie of combat… It is a shame .. also very complex
You should watch The Thin Red Line if you haven’t yet. That’s one that I feel does a very good job not glorifying or making war look cool.
How about the experience of people involved in fighting the war? War movies aren't about civilians. Get over yourself.
looks like absolute US propaganda
Civil war was a phenomenal movie, i cant wait to see what this is like.
1 day and over 1 million views. I'm so glad that people still interested in this kind of movies.

Couldn't of said it any better.
I just realized Ray Mendoza was in Act of Valor (2012)
YES! I literally, just mentioned that. I’ve seen A.J. on a few episodes of Seal Team. Until seeing this, had no idea, he’d play a role into the making of this movie. I remember him talking about that situation with Elliott.

He’s in Nolan’s Odyssey too!
as someone from iraq i'm mindblown by how accurate the set they built looks. they nailed every detail down to the metal bars on the windows.
A24 are one of the last solid film makers out there. Keep it up and please don't sell out to Hollywood as you will just be like the others.
You know A24 are just a production/distribution company right? They don’t direct films lol.
I loved Civil War in the cinema, I'm stoked for this one. Looks really good, starting to like A24
2:04 bad A!!!
Cant wait!! Civil War fight scenes were insane , especially the sound quality
Cosmo Jarvis, Will Poulter, Michael Gandolfini (from the movies I've seen so far), these guys are great ACTORS! 💯
A24 is making the niche movies hollywood made in the 90s, and very well.
Hollywood does not want to make The Game, Sleeping with enemy, or Cape fear.
A war movie with real blanks and gunsmoke as well as decent pyrotechnics is not something you see anymore.
This is what we need , this is what I want.
Oorah !!!
can’t wait! thank you for your service Mr. Mendoza and thank you sharing the story with all of us!

A24 doing war films is just a match made in heaven. They won't sensationalize war like most studios, they're going to show you the visceral reality of it...
A24 went from cute indie studio to proper war proganda lol

How is it propaganda?
So sad
This better have HEAT levels of weapon sound effects/realism
This is giving a dramatic tropic thunder vibe
A24 had me at Alex Garland. Which I can’t wait. I for one will be seeing this in theaters, if for no other reason than the sound. My soundbar at home doesn’t hold a candle to the audio in an imax theater and I want to be fully immersed in ‘Warefare’. Looking forward to April ✌️
Not even A24 can't walk away from that DoD money. oof
How dare a veteran want to share a story about what he experienced.
I mean, neither can the big studios. You'd be surprised how many films are government funded. Transformers for example, the Pentagon flipped the bill, or more accurately, we paid to make it and then to watch it.

We got a bottle episode... I'm so in. Looks good.
Even if this is really well executed I feel like we've seen versions of this story dozens of times. I hope Alex Garland has a more interesting angle on this than what these trailers are showing.
I saw Cosmo and I clicked
But do they find WMDs at least in the movie?
Storm troopers never found those Death Star plans either
Classic post. Exactly. That was a ploy and an anemic excuse to start the BS in the first place. Trump hit it on the nail in 2016 in his primary debate.....Iraq was a big fat mistake. Iran now profits off Iraq. Yeppir. Once the dust settles and history books are written, Trump was right. Iraq was a mistake.

It should be his last film before being sent to a labor camp as a working class traitor
I'm glad new regenerations will get to see. But there's plenty that happen there between 03 and 08, I'd like to forget.
How did Garland go from high brow sci-fi to war movies
All A24 films are elite in my perspective. One of my faves is The Witch
People, start supporting good movies, go to the theaters and enjoy the experience, behave and let others enjoy the movie. Stop believing stupid influencers who think they know better than you what movie you will like. Sadly, many excellent movies did very poorly economically last year, If you don't like a movie, it doesn't mean someone else can't enjoy it. Stop the bullying and appreciate the work of these people.
A24 is going Big.. nice progress 🎉🎉
I watched this at an early screening. Yes, it’s another oh look at brave Americans in war. But I can’t deny the sound was some of the best I’ve seen and it was rlly immersive
That is not at all the takeaway I had

Ray Mandoza starred in Act of Valor when he was still on active duty. Everything comes full circle👍
Will they also show the millions of slaughtered Iraqi women, children, and civilian men?
😂😂No, it’s a topical american propaganda
@ "they slaughtered our children and make movies that they felt bad about it"
Looks very good that. Well done lads.
In high school I got in contact with a marine corps recruiter. his name was SGT. Nance. I was so ready to join the forces and fight for my country. Mainly to give my mom a better life seeing as she came here illegally in 1995. I decided not to go.... and to join the workforce of America instead. Working in factories and learning the basic fundamentals of trades.
this is a decision I came to regret. I might not understand what these men have gone through... But I sincerely wish I could've been there to help. Often, when I look back upon my decision, it's with regret. thank you all for your service.
You might not be too old, especially for the Army. Consider the reserves, too. Of course, there's also first responders.

The film is called Warfare. In the USSR after 2WW, many films were made about the cruelty of war, however, this did not help... Every film about the war must carry the understanding that because of racial, religious groups of people, greed, hypocrisy or simply the sadism of one leader, hundreds and thousands of people will die along with their descendants. Peace to everyone!

Ah, knowing this is about SEALs means I'll pass. And so will a lot of other people. We are not impressed by SEALs, knowing that they are more of a propaganda wing than an actual, competent subdivision of our military.
