I was just about to go to bed when I got the notification you posted this and the title pulled me closer and not 15 seconds in I just collapsed in tears. My service dog ran to me, laid in my lap and kissed my tears away and I realized that even when I have nobody else around, I always have my heaven sent angel on earth to be with me as a visual reminder that God is always with me. I always say that the only time I truly feel Gods presence is in music and that is why he led me to music city. In all honesty, this is one of my favorite songs to come out in the last five years. I feel so alone very often. I grew up with a very abusive mother who really emotionally tormented me for many years and also abandoned me so much by putting me in scary places. I now live on my own, alone and while it has been amazing and I am so grateful to be in my own apartment, it has been very isolating and confusing at times because my mother was never there for me growing up and I didn’t have good parents who guided me through life. I also suffer from complex PTSD so I really do feel unlovable sometimes and that first lyric feels like it’s coming right from my heart. I truly needed this reminder and for the first week after this song came out when I listen to it I couldn’t stop crying. Thank you so much Riley for being brave in that writing session and pouring your heart out because I can tell you it is helping me and a lot of other people more than you’ll ever know. ❤️💕

Usually when people say they are not alone, is when they are most alone. I have been alone most of my life even though there were people around me because none of them knew me or cared about me. Usually when people say they are not alone, is when they are most alone. I have been alone most of my life even though there were people around me because none of them knew me or cared about me. But that is ok, we are not born to attract other people, just to find our way through life. I am afraid I made a wrong turn into an impossible abyss of misery and cannot get out. But I feel like there are others in here with me I guess we will all sink together.
