For 39 panel x 450 watt = 17,550 watt (17.5 KW), Panel actual efficiency of 80% = 0.8 x 17.5 KW = 14.0 KW For 30 panel x 450 watt= 13,500 watt (13.5 KW), Panel actual efficiency of 80% = 10.8 KW 20 HP motor = 14.7 KW motor So it is not possible to have the same output from both motors having electricity supplied from different number of panels. As far as VFD of 20/22 KW or 18/20 KW is concerned, none is being used to it's true potential as panels are not producing enough current. However, if you can increase the number of panels to produce combined output power of 22KW then you will see the true potential of 20/22 KW VFD. Water throw will be far away and the delivered volume will also be more. Of course then you need to install a 20 KW motor as well. With the existing motor of 14.7 KW you just need to add 4 more panels and motor will start delivering to its full potential. An important aspect is the type of water pump being used with the motor. Technology has evolved a lot and therefore, there are various types / design of pumps which deliver more water volume than pumps we used to see 5 years ago.
