- Albert Marquet (French, 1875-1947) - Landscape paintings by Albert Marquet, one of the Fauve painters
Albert Marquet (27 March 1875 - 14 June 1947) was a French painter, associated with the Fauvist movement. He initially became one of the Fauve painters and a lifelong friend of Henri Matisse. Marquet subsequently painted in a more naturalistic style, primarily landscapes, but also several portraits.

What a simple, direct, soothing, pleasing, and above all, sane way of painting!
Great 👍👍
Thank you very much for watching the video and for visiting the channel. Thanks a lot!
The first one is signed 'Manguin' not 'Marquet' and it looks nothing like a Marquet.
Hello najmantube! Thank you so much for your visit and your comment. This painting appears as one of his first compositions and signed as 'Manguin'. This painting appears in various publications such as wipipedia and was painted in 1895 when Marquet was studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts:

@@rollopaterson-thelastimpre5572 Thanks for the correction :)
@@najmantube Thanks. You're welcome! Thanks. You're welcome! Thank you for your comment. We try to show pictures from Museums, auctions and Wikipedia... but there can always be errors. Welcome to the channel!👏👏👏👍
@@rollopaterson-thelastimpre5572 That's odd - my last detailed comment isn't showing up. Did you see it? It might have been deleted by RUclips because it contained links. I'll post it again without the links: There is a post-impressionist painter named Henri Manquin who was a contemporary (and seeming friend) of Marquet's. Marquet actually did a painting called 'Matisse in Manguin's studio' (they both knew Matisse). There are a number of web pages about Henri Manquin and his style looks much closer to the first painting in your video than Marquet's.
@@najmantube Hello najmantube! We have not seen your post, thanks for putting it again. Of course we know the painter Henri Charles Manguin, in fact we have made videos of all his work: Landscapes, Portraits, Still lifes and Nudes. Regarding this painting we have no concrete evidence about it, only that it appears in certain publications. If you have more information about him, we would love for you to publish it. Thank you very much.
