  • This video is the first of 4 videos about knee ultrasound. We will face de anterior structures of the knee, its anatomy and its ultrasound visualisation with quite level of detail. We will begin with quadricipital tendon, and continue with patellar tendon, femoral and patellar cartilage, and finally prepattelar, and infrapattelar bursae. I hope you find this anterior knee US video useful!

    The best discussion on ultrasound of the knee that I have seen on RUclips. Smooth vocal delivery. Efficient use of slides. Exquisitely detailed sonographs. Helpful correlates with cadaveric anatomy. Photographs with probe and patient position. Outstanding!

    I just received your wonderful text Ultrasound of the Musculoskeletal System and I must say it is outstanding in every way!
    I cannot express adequately how comprehensive this text is, put aside how well if flows and how easy it is to follow.
    The passion you and your colleagues put into this is evident, and if I could only have one work on the subject of MSKUS this would be it!
    Thank you and may God continue to bless your efforts.

    Great video ! Can you depict patellar tendon-lateral femoral condyle friction syndrome accurately with ultrasound ?

    • @MskFreak
      @MskFreak  4 года назад

      You can supect this syndrome when an hyperechoic fat pad is located underneath the external patellar tendon accompanied with symptoms. But MRI is more sensitive.

    Excellent introduction to ultrasound. Excellently delivered with great quality images both cadaver, MRI & ultrasound together. Nice presentation as well! Clearly not an English native speaker but nicely brought regardless, I’ve been to plenty a congres where the top speaker could learn a thing or two from you.
    As an orthopaedic surgeon, I have no background in ultrasound whatsoever, but I do see the advantages to having ultrasound readily available to aid my decision making, so this sort of videos is great to get you started. Would love to see some examples of pathology in the tendons, but I take it that’s not in the scope of this video. Best learn to walk before running I suppose :) I’ll be sure to check the rest of your channel. Many thanks!
