So cool you're doing this! People need to learn more about the Chinese experience in US history. They have brought a richness to our country. Thanks to all the men who worked and toiled on the railroads of yesteryear!
@@jacks_off_to Jack i thought you might be interested to know that many artifacts from the Oroville Chinese Temple are being included in an upcoming exhibit with the Smithsonian Institution. Also the puppets from the Temple were of interest to a scholar from San Francisco…the details are hazy in this old brain but if you google the Oroville Temple you’ll see what I’m referring to 👍
Hi Jack , Another Chinatown in the Motherload county. Our family travel all along the Central Valley. Dad used to deliver groceries to the Chinese farmers. Anyway have a Happy and blessed Christmas. 🌟🎄❄️⛄️🎁 “Happy Trails to you.”
There's probably a few more I haven't learned of in the area, these are just from highway 49! I though I was close to visiting them all but there seems to be so much more...
@@jacks_off_to Can wait to learn more of our heritage. Too bad all the museum were closed. Would have love to had see some of the artifacts from that era and how they lived in the area. In China my great grandfather use to smoke opium. Wish I had his pipe as a collection. Anyway take care and have a blessed Christmas. 🙏🌟🎄 Happy Trails to You!
@@DavidZhou-g3d I went to the Joss House on a Saturday at 11am too! Too bad it's closed. There's another one I wanted to visit up in Fiddletown but that was closed last time I went
Hi Jack, Great segment of 49er Chinatown in the mother load county. It is kind of sad there are no Chinese living in these towns anymore. I guess it could get pretty lonely living in these small towns. Take care and stay safe. “Happy Tail to You.” 🙏🙏🙏
it's Cantonese, if i remember correctly, it was originated from hongkong. in the old days, it was widely used for those lower class people, making very little money from hard labor jobs. like miners, construction workers and those worked at the piers loaded and unloaded heavy materials. @@jacks_off_to
