Edward, you are the stone truth. You're a national treasure, and I wish you all the success that's in the Lord's will. This album is better than anything published in this century. Stay strong and trust in Christ.
Praise Jesus, Ed finally put out an album. I love the stripped down production with just his playing, singing, and sometimes a minimalist percussion. His guitar playing is excellent, but I like his vocals even better.
I wish my Daddy was still here so he could hear you play and sing. This is the kind of music he loved other than gospel. All he listened to i just know he would love this..I love it to and have found myself sharing to my playlist quite a few of ur songs.. Thank you!! Lee could never say enough good things about you and ur music. He loved working with y'all..
I've been lucky to see live B.B. King, Freddie King, John Mayall, Canned Heat, Michael Bloomfield, Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Taj Mahal. My go to blues man now? Edward Phillips!
Wow - this is the best thing I've heard in years - excellent, excellent, excellent work - can't thank you enough, Ed, for keeping this wonderful music alive.
not a fan of country blues but here i am playing along, trying to, to every song. Amzing history in music and dates back so much further than we realise. Thanks for a great choice and great to jam along. :)
Well, you sure really put your soul on this. Your "key to the highway" version sounds unique, but at the same time keeps in mind every great artist who ever played, from Bronzy, bb, freddie, clapton and so on... nice album.
Hello Edward, thank you so much for your playing and your videos! They are a treasure and have made lots of this material approachable for me as a hobby musician.
I would love to see you cover the devil wears a suit and tie by Colter Wall mate, I know it's a little different to what you usually do, but I know you could do a wicked version of it
man those are cleaner than a hound's tooth
