  • I had an order for these two Gamechanger flies and figured I would bring you all along with me while I tie them. Many people have requested for more detailed videos on these game changers so I hope this helps. Gamechanger flies are not quick to tie, and therefor this video is very very long. In fact I think it is my longest video Ive made. So I will put in some sections for the video so you can jump to where you want explanation for that specific part. You want to learn how to trim? Then you can jump to the trimming section of the video. Put on the eyes? Then jump to the eye section, etc.
There are many different ways to tie Gamechangers. I like tying the feathered gamechangers, and then these Im tying today. Feathered game changers flow really well in the water and have great movement however the chenille style changers are way more durable and can mimic specific baitfish more perfectly if you know how to color them. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer in the about section below.

What a coincidence! I re-watched one of your videos from a couple years ago and noticed that you were using a game-changer. You fish in some of the same places that I fish. So I was thinking of learning to tie a game-changer over the holidays. Thanks for reading my mind! ....and Merry Christmas!

Glad this helped. I’ve done a few gamechanger tying tutorials but decided to do this longer version where I can explain more

Probably the best fly I have ever seen but I'm an ocean guy and know this would just slay it. Thanks for sharing. very cool ideas here.

Thank you very much! Yeah these should work for the salt. The guy who came up with the gamechanger pattern really did something amazing for sure!

    Another great video.
Thanks for talking about putting ballast down on the bend of the hook. And more ballast the faster you want to retrieve the fly.
I have a few applications where "burning" just under the surface could be a productive technique.
Looks like adding wire after the fly is finished could be done to tune it.
Or possibly use a jig hook or put a dumbbell eye on.

Thank you, yeah more weight for faster retrieve for sure. Glad you liked the video

Great video McFly! I can’t watch it all at once, I’ll get there, but can see it is detailed. Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to you, your family, friends and subscribers. God bless all. 👍👌🎄🎣

Thank you, yes it’s a long video I know. That’s why I put the chapters in so people can jump to sections they need help with. If you want a video less detailed and shorter on these I’ve got one for each size that are much shorter.

🌴 wow this vid is a “ game changer “ I immediately went and made one to put into the fly box arsenal and can’t wait to try it ,I water tested it in the bathtub and the action and realism is just to cool , it started all kinds of brain gears going, like could I make an articulating mullet pattern,or tread fin pattern, thanks so much for posting , these take time but I think it’s time well spent as it could improve my score card on the flats, with so different bait fish options, this is a great way to start 2023 , thanks much 👊🏼👍
