No one will ever understand the bond my adopted daughter & I had around Seagulls- (Stop It Now) & Hostiles On the Hill. The amount of times we have either referenced some part of either or broken into some part of either song in random moments throughout her growing up over 8 years would be a staggering number. It was pretty much our own private joke. We liked My Stick as well & rarely could carry a stick for a walk together in the woods without mentioning or singing part of it. When that sound at the beginning of each video would start, it just gave such a familiar warm feeling. Well, she's all grown up & in the Navy now & we rarely talk, so sadly she isn't here to watch it with me; but, I wouldn't be surprised if she could hear my laughing all the way in Georgia. I think I'll send it to her tonight. I wish I could hear her genuinely laugh while watching it. I can barely remember her laugh since I haven't seen her since her RTC graduation. Anyway, thanks so much for this. It warms a cold heart as I didn't think there'd ever be anymore Star Wars songs to share.

I am at a point of major change in my life right now and the last song brings tears to my eyes. Everyone's pointing out how much of a masterpiece it is but not only does this song perfectly convey how incoherent one's thoughts can get when trying to sleep, it also snuck in themes about how normal change is and the importance of accepting yourself before again being silly and nonsensical for one final moment after the song ends.

I love how Luke’s expression varies from slightly annoyed to losing his sanity to being actually touched by Yoda’s words
2:52 and 4:12 are unironically so beautiful. The harmony with "everything changes" gave me chills
Holy GOD, Yoda is Ice King.
Love how this weaves between the silly and the sublime, with Yoda begging Luke not to give up on him with the shockingly lucid "Shipwreck" portion, and Luke's face SOMEHOW perfectly capturing the feeling of him being moved but also him not being sure if it was just more nonsense, and so feeling conflicted in his sentimentality.
And of course, legit emotion emerging again later on from the goofy "Oh hey I'm green lol" bit, this is all so good and surprisingly layered. I knew from Hamilton's backstory and framing that you had a capacity for proper depth with these, but I never imagined to be struck by the bittersweet beauty of a crazy singing Yoda installment.

Todio has helped guide yoda throughout his life but is now likely gone. Todio was likely green and helped yoda in his reckless youth
Luke tries to cut yoda off and yoda corrects him calling him a "bad bambino". We get some insight into yodas past and was likely left at the zoo my his mother
The next segment is about disguising potatoes as babies. You want to imagine you're living a fruitful life but you disguise the problems to not look like them. "That you dress like a baby so baby wont look like a potato"
Luke, once again tries to correct yoda but yoda laughs. He is wiser and knows more. He humbles him by mockingly calling him a "big boy synthetique"
Yoda is old and knows his time is coming to an end. He is beginning to accept his death. "Ill never leave here again"
Luke still refuses to take yoda's advice and almost gives up hope and leaves
Luke's adolescence is similar to that of yoda's that reflects "a shipwreck that hasn't been found"
Yoda improved himself with the help of Todio and he doesnt want Luke to give up because Yoda is willing to help, however his days are numbered
Yoda question's Luke's drive to improve his life by comparing the will to a stalagtite that persists and hangs on tight
Luke is beginning to be moved but is still unsure
Yoda admits his faults and even admits that they still happen yet again
In this moment he realizes and it comes full circle
