Obviously the jumps are still a work in progress on her way back from injury, but this was a calm, focused, full performance from Gabby which was a problem she’s had doing in the last few years. She looks to be in a really good place, I hope she continues to get her jumps back on track.
I feel so bad for her. I believe all she wants is to be proud of herself for reaching her potential and after all these years, she is still struggling.
Still getting stronger after her surgery 7.5 months ago. I think staying on her feet is a step in the direction she needs. I know she is trying to build that 3Toe+3Toe combination back and get her rippon 3Lutz back (both arms over her head) for sure over the next months she’ll get faster on the ice and spins. Go Gabby!!!
I like both of her programs and dresses this year. Sadly, it looks like a long road back from injury for her. She should be able to qualify for nationals and skate there but I don't see much more this year.
I thought she looked solid considering she's coming back from a major injury. This was a fully realized, fully choreographed program she committed to. She is a world medalist, don't forget. Skating skills, footwork and spins were all fine and will become even better as she regains her strength. Looks like her triples are coming back. Might be smart to get that 3T+3T since she really needs it for the SP. She could top 5 at Canadians with that combo and say up to a 3Lo. With a 3T+3T and a 2A+2A (or similar sequence) she could throw in a couple 3S, a 3Lo and some assorted doubles and post a decent score. Maybe not an ISU championshp TES, but hopefully enough to boost her confidence and world ranking.
World medalist in 2017. I love her but she needs a flip or lutz combo. Not sure why she never worked on them more because the 3-3 is huge hut she could have had equally huge other combos too. 7 years is a long time away from peak form but she can definitely get organized and do well in Canada. I just hope she is healthy and enjoying the journey.
I absolutely love to the fact to not quit (despite all the circumstances)and maybe some personal satisfaction within your performance, im wondering what the goal for the season? Did she compete to show skate Canada the "potential " considering how early it is in the season?... I can see for juniors to put out there programs relative to junior Grand Prix ... but for seniors (wouldn't it almost seem burnout vibes ,especially considering how long the season are nowadays?) ... the program could use some detailing but I hope she don't rush and stay healthy mentally and physically !❤❤❤ ....
But they were clearly planned doubles....unfortunately that is not the kind of content she could get out of the country with. And in general, doubling is the same or worse than a fall points-wise. For example, a triple lutz is worth 5.9. If you fall on it you'll get half off plus the 1-point deduction for the fall, leaving you with 1.95. A double lutz is worth 2.1 and if it's an accidental double you'll probably have a negative GOE, leaving you around the same place as the fall on the triple.
@@Rachel-rs7jn I get that but Canadian women are no Japan or US right now. If she can get a routine with 7 clean triples and tack on some double toes she is getting to worlds. They don’t have the depth. 2x2A, 2x3toe, 2x3S, 3loop is good enough jumping content.
@@Jack-in-the-box12 Maybe, but she didn't have anywhere close to that in this skate (and it clearly wasn't even planned). This isn't a judgment on her since it seems she's coming from an injury. If she's planning to up the content over the course of the season, that's a different story.
@@Jack-in-the-box12 in the women discipline Japan is way ahead of US these days. Excluding Russia of course, the top countries are Japan, Korea and far behind, US (and it’s more about representation, because for the same number of skaters, for me US is behind countries like Switzerland).

Thanks for uploading this Nolan!

@@luisluna964 it was atrocious at her best , sir. 😐

I sure hope you are right because the performance quality is all there. She just needs to land her jumps cleanly.

I take it by her 2 hand fist pump, she was pleased with her performance. Good to see her happy at the end of a program👍
Why doesn’t she pursue adult figure skating or professional
Gigs like cruise ships or Disney on ice?
Give her a break she couldn't even walk 6
months ago.
@@quintupleaxel I am by suggesting healthier and achievable career options.
She obviously wants to compete
Wait this wasn’t that bad right? No falls just two doubles?
