- An economist, financier and teacher Andris Strazds is one of the independent economists, whose opinion is important for the specialists in many industries. Andris is known for his ability to justify the opinions, even if they oppose the views prevalent in the society. With his witty and simple explanations of apparantly difficult economic concepts, Andris is able to engage people who are strangers to economics.
Elegantly stepping over the standard reasoning, Andris Strazds demonstrates how one can look at the common in an unconventional way, and that one doesn't have to be a scientist to understand the fine processes and functions of the markets.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
Annual Performance Review should not, and or, MUST not be buried, I agree in totality. Sincerely speaking, if weekly, monthly and quarterly review of each and very employee performance can become an habit inculcated in the workplace, no manager would dare interested in the act of bury Annual Performance Review of his employees.
Thank you for this presentation.
I believe it is important to have a review it helps the employees to getting better individually if done correctly and honest and as a company it would improve as well.
Nice presentation Dr. Ted....I agree with the need to review employees performance..this helps promote the goals of the organization and build the employees output.
Reviewing performance of the employees is very important
Thanks for this presentation
Reviewing performance of the employees is very important
Reviews are important, thanks for the performance.
I enjoyed this video, and I liked the analogies used. The only negative is the "uh".
Thanks for the presentation. This is positive and helpful.
Absolutely annual performance review must always be carried out
How will you distinguish /differentiate between performances of employees?
Annual revuew is good concept
Comparing the performance and achievements of employees with the targets contained in the company. With the presence of this comparison, employees can measure the extent to which they have to improve their abilities.
It is important.
I do believed that quarterly review is very good and annual review we should look for the positive and also inspired the employees to continued to grow stronger because we see very good potentials,
good to hear it what a performance
Nice review
How would you drive the company forward if you don't administer PE process with negatives leading to termination? Courts would be full of positive talks?
he talked about the negative feedback as well. and Wow, Is termination the key for driving a company forward? come up with solutions instead of pointing fingers
The analogy of talking positive about a dead person doesn't hold as long as they are dead! You got to experience pain to appreciate the lack of it! It is like a bird in hand- it is never enough so I doubt people can truly talk of all the positives when a person is not dead. The focus is on the negatives.
I would appreciate a more positive storytelling especially because this ted talks is used in coursera learning program. Having a positive mind is important when it comes to examples for learning. I hope having the training of performance review won t give us this kind of mindset.
Nice presentation, seems i'm the only one directed here from coursera... lol
You're not ;)
@@Oluyimikaa that's good to know lol... From Nigeria I guess with the name?
the problem is that receiving such annual performance review would't be a little repetitive inefficient in peoples mind?
Good
ALL Performance appraisals on all employees FAIL
in a Badly skewed bell shaped curve when plotting no. of employees to their performance ratings, majority of employees will fall into the Ordinary area. Very few will be in a excellent rating or below satisfactory rating
Performance reviews are going extinct now, with the employers focussing on retaining employees who would otherwise leave due to poor reviews or poor engagement. We agree that constructive performance reviews add unimaginable value to employees and organisations.
Strazds ir labs čalis, bet nu angļu valodas izruna ir vienkārši briesmīga.
