I LOVE the "Boogie Woogie" soooooooooo much and nobody ever reacts to it! Thank you so much!
My thought exactly! It is one of my favorite of their songs!!! And that is saying a lot!!
Wow! I think this was your very best reaction ever! The first part of Superfruit was just nice, but everything about Bugle Boy was phenomenal. You also showcased your own considerable talent and your focus on some of the details and how carefully they were handled by PTX wouldn't be done by any other reactor. I love that you took the time to highlight all of these things and to do it in such a magical way besides. A pure pleasure to hear and see! Wonderful in every way! Thank you so much for this!
Thank you! 😃
What a great opportunity to join in with them and add your own harmony!
Boogie Woogie was done by the Andrew Sisters in the 40's.
This was a World War II era song. I think around 1941? I loved how they started with the sound quality of the era, then morphed into today's rich sound.
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy is one of my all-time favorite songs, and the PTX version really is on point (BTW, the original version of that song was recorded during World War II in the early 1940s, so the sound was supposed to represent the low-fi 78 RPM records of the day...hi-fi sounds were in use by the early 1950s, not as late as the 21st century). I just wish they had done an official video for this song, it could have been really fun. And Kevin was "playing" a bugle, not a trumpet. A bugle is a horn that is similar to a trumpet but has no valves. The different notes are played by changing the shape of your lips on the mouthpiece. Bugles are still heavily used to this day primarily by military bands.
This was a huge hit in the 1940s during WWII (1941 first released), hence the gritty radio sound. The Andrews Sisters made it popular in the early 50s during the Korean War. Their cover has so many wonderful bits and pieces. The change in the beat was the difference between the original, the 1956 version, and newer version.
The original by the Andrews Sisters was from the 1940s. My dad, who was in the Army back then, loved this song, so I was raised having a great appreciation for this and all this eras music. Thank you, Qofy for reacting to it!! Not many reactors have done so. It is greatly underappreciated!! The Superfruit video is great too. I always love watching their antics, as well as their awesome music videos!! Love you Qofy!!
Avi's bass in the middle and at the end always keeps me wanting more... so I am obligated to put this one repeat every time due to that 😂 I swear that register could move mountains!
I don’t see it mentioned in the comments? - granted, I didn’t read them *all* - so thought I’d give props to Bette Midler for taking “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” to #1; it was on her first album, released in late 1972. She called the Andrews Sisters her idols & inspiration, and also covered their songs “In the Mood” and “Lullaby of Broadway.” (I’ll bet PTX would *slay* the latter!!)
i LOVE their cover of Boogie Woogie Buggle boy and it's one of the ones I replay a LOT on my playlist
Shoutout to Naia and Sophia.
Love that you reacted to Superfruit!
There was a snippet of Bugle Boy in their Evolution of Music, but they did so much with the full version. 😍
Thank you so much for this reaction Qofy 🙏 and great choice with the double feature, shoutout to Sophiaaa for the recommendation 👏
Qofy you must really have a perfect pitch, to be able to hear something once and being able to reproduce it immediately ! Such a talent 😃
Always learning from your reactions and having fun 🎉
Much love to the Qofygang ❤️
Random singing made me soooo happy. FUN reaction. No one ever reacts to some of these songs without videos.
Thanks for reacting to the BoogieWoogie Bugle boy of Company B! I Thank you might be the first reactor I’ve ever seen do this one. I too love the switching back and forth from the old school radio sound to the more modern sound. I’ve probably listen to this song 100 times and never noticed what you had pointed out from Kevin going from the cymbal sound in the old-school beatboxing to full on out beatboxing that we normally hear in the modern day sound. Very interesting. Keep the reactions coming. Your smile always makes my day.
So the thing on Scott's head was from a video they did with Torick Hall "The condom challenge" And the one where you thought Mitch was mimicking Scott he was actually mimicking himself in that play lol
As other's have said the Andrew's Sisters did Boogie Woogie Buggle Boy in the 40. There is a new group that specializes in that area the American Sweethearts.
That stare after you nailed that harmony ☺
Cracked me up!!😂😂😂
Sounding like the Andews Sisters in the '40s on the radio- I remembber WWII.
Most of their runs in this songs were done by the Andrews Sisters first. I think you can find them on Tube.
I love this song! Kirstin kills it! I saw the live version and it was off the charts! I can't even think that fast much less sing it with all the nuances! Thanks for reacting!
I LOVE Boogie Woogie, but I didn’t know they did it. I’m sad that others don’t react to it.
Qofy you don't no how much I needed to see this tonight thank you ☺️
Bugle Boy was a great one to see live in concert! 😍
LOL, I know you're young but the initial radio sound was what people heard on the radio in the 1930s and 1940s (this song is from 1941). I can assure you the radio sounded A LOT better in the 80s and 90s. And I can only say those decades because I was way too young in the 70s to assure that. So, people were able to achieve/hear good sound in the later part of the 20th Century. 😁 I always enjoy your attention to arrangement details most people miss. Bravo!!
That WAS so fun! I always enjoy their songs so much more after you point all the cool parts out to me! Thanks!
Qofy u always put a smile on my face.😄😄
This was a great double reaction - such a fun way to unwind at the end of the day!
Avi's walking bassline was perfect! This was a great surprise on that "classics" cd!
I loved the Bugle Boy! I had not heard it done by them before. Thank you for posting this!
like radio in the 90s?? ah, man! No, that was the tinny sound from old transistor radios with no real bass - more like WW I. In the 90s we could get bass. 8)
eta - that's a basic chord progression in boogie woogie and other types of music, usually left hand piano or upright bass - which Avi is killing. This sounds like classic Manhattan Transfer - yum!
Ahh this makes me so happy! And the superfruit one was so fun.
Great reaction. Love the way you broke it down.💯
Great choice Sophiaa and Naia! I somehow missed this one previously. Qofy - what a great reaction, loved your breakdown of the song and how much you are enjoying it! And I agree, I’m envious of the ability to just spontaneously sing beautifully.
That was lotsa fun! I think of Superfruit as their goofy side. I love them both!
Boogie Woogie shows as made in 2017. Wasn't Avi gone by then? I think it was Matt, not sure.
No, it was before Avi left, although the release date on the cd is 2017. Avi is def on it.
@@beverlykrebs4372 Thanks, good to know!
Suo glad you did this one tonight. It was so fun and light-hearted. You're the best!!
Fun, fun, fun!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS!! WATCHING YOU ENJOY AND SMILE, MADE ME SMILE TOO!!
Such a fun reaction!!!! Loved watching you enjoy it!!!!!
I loved it when Mitch put his hand up and said, 'Stop!' Great reactions. Thanks!
The condom challenge was toddrick Scott and Mitch. It was funny.
The trumpet was Mitch.
The 1990s 😁😄😆😂😭 ...I'm old.
❤️😍
Original was the Andrews Sisters WWII
Qofy they was doing the condom challenge, it's Sup3rfruit ft. Todrick Hall.
