+blackoracle69 It is worth the trip, in fact most of the water ways in the state are worth the trip. It is wild up there, mosquito's and black flys will eat you to the bone on portages or if you step out of the canoe. Words really don't do it credit. Have yourself a great day Blackie, and thank you for what you do.

I always look forward to the release of your videos. I, too, like canteen kits and have both the traditional stove and the canteen shop stove. Cool use of foil to make a "tent oven."

Nice points about the old style canteen stove. I don't have one myself, but am considering it. I do use the pouches though. Thanks for sharing, Roosevelt

I loved your lid for your canteen cup. Great idea! Personally, I have been carrying a small camping pot for most of my cooking. I found it at a flea market. The handles fold back. It has about a six cup capacity. Your over setup impressed me, too.

Liked the vid as usual. Been using my cup again for cooking. The Rothco lids will fit a Rothco GI cup only. Although it will set not to bad on a issue cup. I've got both. I also drilled a hole on the side to attach a bale. I think I'm liking the old style handle a little more than the butterfly handle. I too find the natik stove handy. Been using and refilling the Swiss M 71 sterno type stove. I really like it. Check it out. As you know here in even in Virginia it gets hot so a small fire for morning coffee is great without the fuss. I've done tabs and alcohol for years, but am really liking that little sterno type stove. Take care.

I like the idea of the way you have it set up and do a lot of the same things but I use a stainless steel canteen with mine and a good source of spice containers is the diabetic test strip containers when they are empty of course you can label them with what is in them and are water tight if you have any ideas that also work I would love it keep up the good work

do not go in woods without cooking everything at home first! that way everything can be understood before you go. be sure every tool used at home will have a double in your pack.

I am a fairly good size man now and I have bad knees but still enjoy getting out in the woods and what I call dirt time along with hunting and fishing and Bush craft but have a hard time doing so with the hiking as much as I used to how can I stay in shape conserve water and still do what I love to do also? Any ideas?

All this time I had no idea the canteen fits with its stove as depicted on this video! People turn it in opposite direction or side ways. Now I know.

+blackoracle69 Hi I am a new subscriber. I don't think that passing knowledge is such a small thing whether you discover it yourself or 2nd hand - the fact you share it is praise worthily. Especially in a world that promotes and dare I say celebrates ignorance. Regards & Respect
