We can turn the sensitivity of the sensors up, down or off if we need and they'll take any and every note that isn't mutilated or so pocket worn it feels like a facial tissue. The notes that get by usually stay in circulation. We actively sort out notes that are known to have high quality counterfeits floating around for that reason. My assumption is quality counterfeit notes aren't made to hurt the average person. They are aimed at the U.S. economy. We were told most originate in Asia and make their way through our northern boarder. I'm not sure how accurate that is though.
