I have seen only a few films stg Suraiyya. Mirza Ghalib from Sohrab Modi is best based on ghazals of Ghalib, music by Ghulam Mohd and true story of Ghalib. Acting of Bharat Bhushan and Suraiyya best. I am nearly 85 and this film, sofaras my memory goes, was awarded prizez and praise.
Thus ghazal aptly reflects plight and sorrows of both mirza aduddin ghalib as well as suraiya the latter sacrificed everything for love. I have seen people thronging on marine drive outside her house just to have a deedar of her.
