These basic rules look very nice, thanks for sharing. Sometimes it’s nice to just get the game rolling without getting bogged down in details.

Which is something that made me stop watching certain channels. Nice guys and everything but they spend so much time on the mathematics of the rolls and rules it just make the video close to boring for me. I am sure certain guys must enjoy these in depth rules explanation and good for them but I prefer watching the game play since I don’t own the game and I truly want to see how it goes. This is why I started my own little video doing them the way I enjoy and trying to showcase games I don’t see a lot since so many now are into unboxing and new games

Thanks! Really glad this format works for everyone. I must confess I'm one of those 'learn by watching/doing types' and lengthy rules narratives - valuable though they can be - are pretty hard going.

Hi Andrew, another cool vid! 😎

I am guessing I missed it at first and you just mention you would do just combat example and no maneuvering? I would suspect movement would affect the firing for the guns?

The manoeuvreing element is present in basic combat, but it's very basic and consists of players declaring after each firing round whether they want to stay at their current range, close, or move further away. If both agree, the change of range (Close or Long) is automatic. If both want to do different things, the player with the faster fleet decides. If there is a tie, it is resolved by an opposed dice roll. A player who is at Long range can try to end the combat by declaring a withdrawal. Interestingly enough, movement does not affect gunfire in this game.

    Dot. Not circle.

Ah, yes. At 3:40? Thanks for that. You're quite right, although amusingly the rules say "circle" 😆

    Interesting. Unless I
Missed something the number of guns is more important than their size since that is more dice on the table in this case. I am assuming that that big guns pen heavy armor and secondary pen med armor etc…. I guess I will see that in the next vid. Still looks good.

You're quite right. Heavy guns penetrate anything, secondaries penetrate medium and tertiaries can only hurt unarmoured boxes. It's quite simplistic, but it mostly returns reasonable results.
