I like him a lot. Just eq or filter out any harsh melodies or resonances. The rest is quite simple. A medium or clicky kick and just play around with diff elements on off beats. FL studio is great for experimenting with grooves within the channel rack. You can load all your sounds and just click in random spots on the grid for about a bar or two, then just copy it all out for your eight bars.
@ I think his tracks are more suited for vocalists every time. It’s easier as a producer to get carried away with adding too much. He keeps it so simple for vocalists which is the key element. It’s hard not to overproduce without a singer, so what I do is add a vocal from splice to check if I have enough elements (if that’s what I’m going for).
