I have a few questions. Does all these systems run on the other A.G. Legends F.B. (50 games)? Can it be played with Atari Joysticks ? and is it possible to add other older systems like ColecoVision, Intellivision or Turbo Grafix ?
No, that one only runs Sega Genesis. And I don’t recall if Atari worked on this one or not. I believe I did test that but it’s been a minute. I believe it did not.
@@Emceemur awesome, I'll try it. Thanks for the response. I've had some success with MAME ROMS on it, but it's hit or miss. I'm not sure why some won't work. Do you know the specifics about what is required for Arcade ROMs to be compatible?
@@Emceemur I haven't tried that many because I am not interested in putting a full set of games I'm not going to use on it, but I know I got Pit Fighter running, maybe another couple. It's been a minute.. They were from a 2000 set, but if we knew exactly which version of MAME this thing runs, it should open up some options. I'm using the regular Flashback, not deluxe. I just checked and I have Pit Fighter and The Punisher, Strider, Outrun, and Defender arcade working. It struggles with Outrun and won't load Samurai Showdown 2 and Knights of the Round.
I did come across others regarding this console that they were having issues with the Maui Mallard game but they were also having problems with The Humans, StarWars Return of the Jedi & Super StarWars The Empire Strikes Back. Out of curiosity, I have checked my console and am missing box art for those games and they will not load. I contacted AtGames and they confirmed they had similar issue cropping up. They are asking if I'm interested in sending my console to them for testing and they will send a replacement with an older firmware. Currently my firmware version is: FB8660S v0.1.7. Thoughts?
James McD! I have not attempted the box art addition. I finally have this thing playing games from 4 systems and have done no updates so I’m afraid to poke the bear and boof it to a point I can’t fix. If you send it back to them, that would make for an interesting convo afterwards.
@@Emceemur Well, my unit has AtGames firmware only. I am not using any sort of custom firmware. It is interesting that I came across this issue after the Donald Maui game would not load. If you have the 0.1.7 firmware on your machine, check the StarWars and The Humans games and tell me if they load and have artwork.
great video, thanks for sharing. I got the Flashback 9 last year. I love it ! Do you think I could add the ROMs that you're discussing here on my unit ?
Not all of them, but the Atari ones, yes. I’ve done videos on how to add em to the Flashback 9 so that’s a good reference. You end up with about 1100 ROMs on it total!
I added those right after I got it. I was just wondering if I could also maybe add the Colecovision stuff to my FB9 or would I probably have to purchase the FB110.
Another thing. Some of the games that showed up as ghosts after I did the .6 update weren't even supposed to be on there. I compared the list of the ones that appeared after that update weren't listed on the game list sheet. All seems to have been fixed with .7.
Just when I have something new. Which is always weekly. But I’m not on a set schedule. Busy Family life doesn’t allow for that. But there are always 1 or 2 new episodes a week.
What game systems are compatible with the Legends Deluxe? I've seen NES, SNES, Genesis, and Atari so far. Does it support arcade games and if so, what file extension do you need to use?
Just picked this up clearance at Walmart for 11 bucks. I noticed when I plugged it into my atgames legends ultimate machine it played directly without having to do any button mapping. Do you know if this works for roms that have been downloaded to an sd card.
@@Emceemur very cool, thanks for the tip. I just ordered one each of the Legends Flashbacks. One with the 50 games, the other with the 100. $10 for one, $17 for the other. I plan to load them up. 👍🏻

I can see that manual can be found online as a PDF file for standard version (FB8660) but I cannot find it for DELUXE version (FB8660S). Please anyone, post a link for it. Thanks a lot. Cheers.
@@Emceemur Thanks for your reply. There's a small difference. The list of games at the back of the manual is different. Not a huge difference but as a collector I prefer "complete products". That's why I am searching for this documentation/manual.
Hey Mur, here is an up date on updates. I got in touch with ATGames support. there is now an update that works. It Is "AT Games - Legends Update - 0.1.7". I was afraid of updates after what happened with the earlier one but this one seems to have worked. I now have the Donald in Maui Mallard and it looks and plays fantastic. It may just be my imagination but the video and sound seems to be some better too. However, for what ever reason, I still can't get ATARI to work on it though. You did put those on it, right? I am going to contact them again because they want to know it the update fixed the problem, and see if they can help me get ATARI on it.
Yeah Atari is working fine. So are Sega, Nintendo and Super Nintendo. All these updates are the variables. Fix one thing and another breaks. I haven’t done one and I’m never going to.
I had the very same problem. I bought the basic model at first....not the deluxe. Then I bought the deluxe and the Atari games work perfectly fine. You need the deluxe model for the Atari games to work. I wish I knew in the first place.
@@Emceemur. not on this unit. They appear to be but they aren't completely. Even when you number them they aren't. At least on the card. And by the way are the extra games on the deluxe model atari? I'm wondering if the deluxe model has the ability to play Atari games because some of them already are.
@@QUINTENRT What I've seen with my unit is if you add games to the SD card, they appear in the order you added them. So my recommendation is once you have all the games on there that you want, copy them off the card, delete them from the card, then add them back on and they should all appear in alphabetical order. I'm guessing it sorts them first alphabetically then by date added.
@@ecmyersvidsThat does seem to be the case. However what I have noticed is that the games appear not necessarily the way you add them but the order the computer adds them to the hd card. In other words if you try to do hundreds at one swoop, the computer doesn't necessarily transfer files in alphabetical order so they will be jumbled. What that means is that you have to add them one at a time to get them that way and if you ever wanted to add to them, you have to go through that process with them all in order to keep them that way. I know this because of 2 things. one is that I fixed a whole rom set the Jon at genx said to do it, moved them all at one time on to the hd card and they were jumbled when I tried to play them. two, I tried to add them one at a time and that put them in order, but when I added one even though it was an "L" it showed up after the "S"s. This wouldn't be such a big deal except for the fact that if you put thousands on a card, it would take you forever to find anything you wanted to play. I really don't understand why this happens. On any other electronic device I have ever used the files are automatically alphabetized. A weird anomaly indeed.
Hey Mur, Maybe you could do a segment sometime about how to know if you actually have a clean set of roms. I think I have figured out that there are a lot of bad ones out there. I had pretty good luck with the SNES and SEGA.I cam't seem to get atari or colecovision to launch right. I am probably not using the right extension for colecovision but I am using the .a26 for atari and they don't what to load right. I know you can't give roms to people for obvious reasons but maybe you could tell us where exactly to get clean sets or a link or something. I actually think I am getting some bad sets but I don't know how to tell if they are bad of if I am still doing something wrong. I think I have a pretty good handle on how to do the process, so all I can think is that I am not getting good stuff for atari and colecovision.
Hey Mur, good video. I have a request. could you please find out what program and\or version of it Ron is using? I have Advanced Renamer 3.85 "not registered." I don't know if that makes any difference that it is unregistered, but it looks totally different than what he has on the screen. It also doesn't seem to be very well. I tried using it to change the extensions .nes or what ever and it went through the process but in the end, it did not change them. It also didn't take out the spaces. Also, as a side note. of the rom files that were in the extracted update file, the colecovision extensions for them were .bin. What was your 16 bit PNY card? I am wondering if this machine I have just won't recognize cards that run fast. The PNY card that I have is the "elite" and is 16 bit and is capable of delivering 85mb per second. The PNY that is just the normal one has considerably slower reading speeds. Mine says "ELITE" on the front, does yours?
Hey, Randall. "Ron" here. 😝 (Jon, actually.) I have the exact same version of Advanced Renamer -- it's very configurable so not unusual that your layout would look different than mine. You likely just need to bone up a bit on the the usage of AR. I recommend just starting here: www.advancedrenamer.com/user_guide/gettingstarted One of the biggest gotchas is knowing when to use or not use regular expressions (regex). There's a tickbox for that. Beyond that, you can observe new names in realtime as you create methods, so keep an eye on the right pane as you work.
@@GenXGrownUp Well I think I have figured a few things out. One problem I had was that on the video you guys did the screen you were working from was really too small to see very well and I really had to watch it multitudinous times to figure out what was going on. I finally got the extensions for snes changed like you did. I was going about it differently. Also I think you were running two things side by side weren't you? The explorer right beside advanced renamer? that's why it looked different to me. Again, the reason I could't figure that out was because they were side by side and the screen was too small to read it.The absolute biggest problem I am having though is that I have tried two different machines from two different places and neither will recognize the HD card. I have talked to Mur about it and we are working on it I got a hold of tech support at AT and they are trying to help me on it but I don't have the right answer yet. This is really bumming me out that everyone else is doing it so easily and I seem to be having all this trouble with the process.
@@Emceemur Thanks. I can't find those around here. I ordered a couple of them from amazon and they should be here Friday. I just replied to Jon below. He seems like a great guy like you. I think I figured the advanced renamer problem out. You can read my reply to him about that. I still haven't solved the HD card problem out though. I am in contact with AT tech support. We will see how that goes.I did their first suggestion and renamed the zip file ant put the HD back in. it seemed to read it and asked me if I wanted to update but when I said yes I got an error message.
Yeah, my original Legends Flashback gave an error message too when I tried to update it to play Nintendo stuff. It already played Genesis so I just left it alone. I’m obviously getting more done on this new model though. And Jon is about as cool as they come. The whole GenX crew is a hoot’n a half.
Hey Mur, Finally, I am getting this to work. I am not entirely sure what I was doing wrong. One thing may have been that I labeled the file on the drive GAMES instead of GAME. I labeled it GAME and put files on it. THEY SHOWED UP!!!!! I tried to put colecovision on it, they showed up but when I tried to run them a screen popped up that said they weren't running correctly. The extension I had on them was.col. I changed the extensions to .bin and the drive didn't show up usable. I guess I had the extension wrong. I put the SNES ones on it like you and Jon said and they work, at least the one I tried seemed to work fine. Could you give me a list of the various extensions that work for the different formats palazeeee? I am stoked.
Yep, it has to be GAME or it won’t recognize it. I’m glad it’s starting to work out. So the Sega are .bin files. The Atari ones were .A26 files. I haven’t Messed around with Coleco yet but I assumed they wouldn’t work for lack of a way to implement the keypad function.
@@Emceemur I labeled the atari 2600 .a26 but haven't gotten them to play but they do show up. Haven't figured that one out yet. The colecovision games that are on the unit has the keypad on them, you have to push the "Y" button and it will pop up use the direction controller to maneuver around on it and push the "B" button to select and push the "y" button to make the key pad go away.
I think people are too critical of these plug and play systems image quality and sound are pretty good on most of these and at $45 bucks that's a solid buy even before adding the roms

$33 is not bad at all! Sega Master System was my first console so those games are extra special to me. You can bet we’ll try those out in a future episode!
I've got .a26 roms working great, but I am unable to use original 2600 joysticks/paddles. I had assumed (incorrectly?) that I could use 2600 controllers (they work on Genesis consoles) since this thing uses Genesis controllers. Has anybody gotten this to work? It'd be a lot more fun to play 2600 games with the proper controllers...
Whatever Stella3 emulator they used in the new flashbacks (Atari 9 & 10) ended up not being compatible and I assume that’s the case here too. They were supposed to make a set and that didn’t happen apparently.
@@Emceemur Bummer, but thanks for the info! I got mine for $30 though, so I'm not too disappointed...it's A LOT of bang for the buck. I'll probably buy a Retron 77 and play around with that next...

I have several cards 1 for each nes snes sega and atari which I can't get to work. The largest collection is maybe 5500 the smallest about 550 except for one i use to experiment with has about 15
It won’t run anything beyond what’s on it now. We tested a variety of ROMs with no luck. Im currently working on a video for the Arcade1up plug n play that runs a lot more variety. Game Gear, Master System, etc. I’ve already done a preliminary vid on the unit you can watch. Working on the full build this week.
Well Mur, I guess what I told you before is not correct. I'm not sure where those files I told you about came from but I tried redownload the update file from the AT website and there was only one, a .img file that had to be renamed. I did what they asked and the unit updated. Nothing changed however, I still can't play the games I couldn't play before and I still can't access the HD card from the main screen. Soooooo, I am no worse off than before for updating but no better off either. I am beginning to think the tech support personnel at AT games is some ball-scratching dude sitting at home in his living room in his underware wondering just what the heck I am talking about. I tell my problem in detail and all I get is a sentence or two which doesn't have very much to do with my problem at all. I am soooooo disappointed in this I could scream.
I think that when these don’t work, they don’t really know why. All those updates are experimental at best. Id probably just return the units and break clean since you’re having no luck. I know that’s frustrating. But other than trying more units, Im out of ideas.
@@Emceemur Well I like the unit over all and I am still working on a solution to the problem with tech support. I will keep the system one way or the other because I like the sega and colecovision stuff. It would be nice to get other colecovision stuff like carnival on it though. There are more than 2 colecovision games on it too.

In what rhymes does it read as far as like which ones does it read like Sega Genesis super Nintendo Nintendo Sega Master system Sega Mach 3 what format of ColecoVision and television what rhymes do it read is there a list of the consoles that it reads
All that is explained in great detail in this video as well as step by step on screen instructions. I haven't watched this in 5 years so the video can tell you more than I can at this point.
It only does the 4 consoles in the video. I think what you're looking for is a Retropie which you can purchase fully built.
Can you add SNES ROMs to the regular Legends Fkashback or only the deluxe? If so, how? What file extension?
Yes you can, here’s the vid on that. .fig I believe.

@@Emceemur awesome, I'll try it. Thanks for the response. I've had some success with MAME ROMS on it, but it's hit or miss. I'm not sure why some won't work. Do you know the specifics about what is required for Arcade ROMs to be compatible?
I haven’t gotten any MAME to work. A rep told me that it likely won’t run them at all. Which ones have worked for you?
@@Emceemur I haven't tried that many because I am not interested in putting a full set of games I'm not going to use on it, but I know I got Pit Fighter running, maybe another couple. It's been a minute.. They were from a 2000 set, but if we knew exactly which version of MAME this thing runs, it should open up some options. I'm using the regular Flashback, not deluxe.
I just checked and I have Pit Fighter and The Punisher, Strider, Outrun, and Defender arcade working. It struggles with Outrun and won't load Samurai Showdown 2 and Knights of the Round.
PitFighter & Outrun would be rad!
Hey Mur, how are you guys running atari games on this unit? I have done all suggestions from you guys but atari will only play on the atari unit.
Ok, I’ll look next time I’m on there.
vo.0.1.8 fixes that.
I did apply it and it did restore all but the game, “The Humans”. No box art, it will not load. It only shows the title.
great video, thanks for sharing.
Johneekay ruclips.net/video/DuUIeTo--40/видео.html
I added those right after I got it. I was just wondering if I could also maybe add the Colecovision stuff to my FB9 or would I probably have to purchase the FB110.
Another thing. Some of the games that showed up as ghosts after I did the .6 update weren't even supposed to be on there. I compared the list of the ones that appeared after that update weren't listed on the game list sheet. All seems to have been fixed with .7.
Is there a way to add Sega CD games onto the console, was really looking forward to getting Sonic CD onto the console.
No, the emulator can’t run those. Sorry but thanks for watching!
Hey Mur, when is your next video? Do you have a schedule you try to stick to or is just when you get something new?
Just when I have something new. Which is always weekly. But I’m not on a set schedule. Busy Family life doesn’t allow for that. But there are always 1 or 2 new episodes a week.
Hey Randall! We’re kickin around doing a Turbografx rom add on here. Have you messed with that at all?
@@Emceemur I have not. I've never thought about it but it sounds interesting. We are talking about the Legends Flashback, right?
Yes sir. Im pondering what the correct extension would be for those ROMs. They should in theory work if done correctly.
@@Emceemur Anything added would be cool.
What game systems are compatible with the Legends Deluxe? I've seen NES, SNES, Genesis, and Atari so far. Does it support arcade games and if so, what file extension do you need to use?
Arcade, no. But the other 4 you mentioned, yes. Nothing outside of those though, unfortunately.
i THINK.the same question 🤔 if THIS consolé can run mame GAMES Will be awesomee 😢
N64, Gameboy colour would be nice. Also which controllers are you using?
Yeah, it can’t pull that off. I’m using my Sega Genesis 6 button controller. Amazing the ol girl still works after 30 years.
Can it run snes street fighter alpha .fig
I have a street fighter alpha 2 .fig file on here that runs. But that’s the only one in my romset
What about MAME/Arcade games?
No, I tried them but they didn’t work.
Just picked this up clearance at Walmart for 11 bucks. I noticed when I plugged it into my atgames legends ultimate machine it played directly without having to do any button mapping. Do you know if this works for roms that have been downloaded to an sd card.
I cant get Atari 2600 games work on Legends Flashback 50 I removed are spaces and all *.a26
Yeah, it’s not going to. It will however, work fine on this 2019 model.
@@Emceemur I got nes and snes to work
And trying the .UCE format from the athomes arcade ?
Is Advanced Renamer freeware and reliable? I used a different renamer a while back, but it was quite buggy.
It’s free, yes. And has been reliable 4 times over for these types of episodes.
@@Emceemur very cool, thanks for the tip. I just ordered one each of the Legends Flashbacks. One with the 50 games, the other with the 100. $10 for one, $17 for the other. I plan to load them up. 👍🏻
Now does Atari only work on the sams club version I can't get it to work on my Walmart 100 games version?
I tried the .a26 extension with no spaces and no luck!
Hi everyone. I managed to get one "Legends Flashback DELUXE (110 games)" delivered to my country (France) from the USA. But sadly, I got no manual in it..... I can see that manual can be found online as a PDF file for standard version (FB8660) but I cannot find it for DELUXE version (FB8660S). Please anyone, post a link for it. Thanks a lot. Cheers.
I wouldn’t think the manual would be any different. Is there a specific issue you’re having?
Hey Mur, Has anyone figured out how to make the games on the sd card show up in alphabetical order yet?
The files should already be in alphabetical order. Files usually are, aren’t they?
@@Emceemur. not on this unit.
Have you ever thought of trying to add roms to the plug and play at games controller setups
You can find them on Walmart website for around 4 bucks
You think there’s something inside that would allow for cabling into a laptop?
Not sure, but at that price it would be worth a look
Does MAME games work?
My PNY is just a cheap one, not Elite. I have forwarded your question to GenX Jon to see about the versions.
I still cant get Atari games to work.....i dont understand. I got everything else to work. Nes, snes, sega, Any ideas ?
Well, how many roms total did you put on the sd card? And was it 16g or smaller?

The file extensions need to be correct, but I don’t know what extension the NES games need on this system. Can you help a brother out? ;0)
Yes sir, I’ll pop the SD card back in & check. Gimme a lil bit and I’ll holla back.
NES is .nes & SNES is .fig
But an added Coleco ROM likely won’t have the keypad function of the console attached to it. That’s my prediction.
@@Emceemur do you know what the file extension for colecovision is?
No, I sure don’t.
I think people are too critical of these plug and play systems image quality and sound are pretty good on most of these and at $45 bucks that's a solid buy even before adding the roms
You’re absolutely right. The earlier products from these guys may have had issues but these certainly don’t. And we’ve had a lot of fun with this series so far. Especially in the livestreams where we played the games and reminisced!
One like won't do. This video needs needs two likes per person. I just got a few weeks ago for 33 bucks what a deal. Yes, Sega master system wood be awesome on this system.👍👍👍👍
Save your money. The Retron is a POS. it isn’t even compatible with capture cards. I can’t stand Hyperkin.
@@Emceemur That's good to know! Still, the Retron 77 is officially supported by the Stella team so its emulation is a lot better than anything from AtGames. If I end up getting one, I'll see if I can capture after updating the firmware.

so when will we see more videos about adding to the AtGames Legends Flashback DELUXE. it's like you just dropped the idea. when will you do more?
I am wondering about those people you said lost game functionality because of the update. Maybe they updated before they checked the games and they might not have worked before the update like mine didn't. I will keep the system one way or the other because I like the sega and colecovision stuff. It would be nice to get other colecovision stuff like carnival on it though. There are more than 2 colecovision games on it too.
Colecovision was something I played a lot of in the mid 80s. Those versions are special to me.
